Perfekt für Surfer

Super Lage und schöner Blick aufs Meer. Surfen kann man direkt vor der Haustüre. Sehr faire Preise wenn man ein Board leihen will. Sehr nette Volunteers. Schöne Dachterrasse.

Das Klopapier in den Gemeinschaftsbädern war häufig leer. Es gibt nur eine kalte Dusche, bei der genug Wasserdruck kommt um Haare zu waschen.

L’hostel est bien située, les gérants sont agréables et parlent anglais.

Tout est très vieillissant fait de bric et de broc. La chambre faisait vraiment sale tout comme les salles de bain. Mal isolé on entend absolument tout. Pas d’eau chaude dans les douches.

the place is nice, nice vibe, nice kitchen and great location (close to the pueblo and view of the sea just in front of the beach)

it's not very clean at all and very hot at night but overall its ok for the price and if you're in a surf-stay mood

Superb

The location is perfect with the ocean in front, the rooftop is super to chill with a nice view. Staff is super friendly and helpful. It felt really familiar there.

Sometimes there is no water during the night.

Best place to stay and meet amazing people!

We had the most AMAZING time at Totora Surf School and it was very hard to leave after three weeks! The rooms and property were always clean and organised and the view of the ocean is spectacular. Great value for money. But what made our stay so wonderful were the people! Laura and Diego are wonderful people and the care they put into their business is obvious. They went out of their way to make my stay comfortable and were especially kind and attentive to my dog Colt who would be very happy if we stayed forever! :) Their surf school team are all great people and Colt and I were happy to leave having made a bunch of new friends!

Peaceful and homelike feeling at Totora Surf School

We stayed here for 2 weeks and we had an amazing time. We extended the first time because we were surprised by how much peace this place brings. We extended the second, third and fourth time because Laura and Diego made us feel like we were at home. They are very helpful, caring and warm people. Diego is a chill and very good surf teacher and Laura is a genuine and straightforward person. And just wait til you get to see the view from the terrace area...

This hostel exceeded my expectations, it's comfortable and clean and the owners, Laura and Diego, are so friendly and welcoming. Great place to meet new people and check out the surfing!

Perfect place to stay and sink into Huanchaco

Very friendly staff - great people! Perfect location by the beach with a terrace view to the ocean, cool common area on the roof, clean, big rooms with comfortable beds… fantastic place and I will definitely come back!

By the beach. Comfortable , relaxing stay.

Lovely , clean room and shared bathroom. Comfortable bed. Cooking facilities. Opposite the beach. Wonderful rooftop terrace with views of the beach, surf and amazing sunsets . Delicious breakfast. Buses pass the door. Lots of restaurants nearby.

Very friendly and helpful staff. They’re all family and make you feel like at home, very helpful with anything you need. The location couldn’t be better. Short walking distance to the three main surfing spots and the terrace is formidable.

Next to the beach, close to touristic places and market. Overall good price for a private room.

Lack of honesty concerning the price. When translating from $ to Soles, the reception girl was using the wrong trade rate, using 4 instead of 3.7. I said it was not fair and she said that the difference was due to "commissions" of the hostel... - Bad wifi

Perfect Beachfront Surf Hostel

Totoras Hostel has a fantastic view, great staff and awesome vibe. It's now my favorite place to stay in Huanchaco. Perfect for surfers, backpackers and holiday travellers.

Awesome place with amazing owners!

Awesome place! The owners Laura and Diego were exceptionally nice! They allowed us to check in at 7 in the morning, helped us with everything from surfing, to going to Trujillo to leaving. Always friendly and up for a chat. The rooms were clean and sufficient. The roof terrace was really nice and had AMAZING sunsets. Also take a surf lesson! Even if you are already intermediate, the teacher Jorge (i hope that is right) was incredible. The best surf teacher I ever had. And the price was more than fair, 80Soles for daily rental of wetsuit/board + lesson + a lot of really cool photos! Would come back immediately.

Nothing to be honest. The wifi in the room was a bit unstable sometimes, but that's all really.
