The view of you got an ocean view room was nice. The restaurants were good
Requires some refurbishing. Price is high for what you get

Room was a bit rundown and kind of noisy all night
4.0 / 5.0
Our stay started off really bad, but the staff worked hard to make up for it the next day by changing our room twice. At the end, we had a great experience but getting to that great experience was a journey.
Details:
When we first arrived, the front desk lady very was abrupt- as if we were interrupting her evening by checking into our room. She spoke fast, & didn't look at us when talking. Because she wasn't looking, not paying attention, she kept asking us to repeat our questions. It was weird. We wondered if this was Tahitian culture as it was our first night in Tahiti after a long international flight.
When we got to the assigned room - it was noisy on the main road and smelled of cigarettes- like really bad. I told the front desk that my daughter and I couldn't stay in a smoking room. They came to the room, found a burned cigar in the corner floor of the room, took it, and sprayed the room, while we were in it (they wore masks and didn't tell us that they were going to spray while we were in the room) The spray was strong and potent, it gave us headaches and made us feel ill - I went downstairs and said we can NOT be in that room. The front desk person got even more irritated with us. I felt like I made a mistake prepaying 2 nights for this run-down hotel. It took some determination but after a bit, they changed our room to one across the hall and we finally slept - but that first night was not fun.
In the morning, we found a note under our door to meet the manager at the front desk. I was sure I was in trouble for being persistent on the room change, but when we got to the front desk there was a different team & they apologized profusely for what happened the night before & offered to upgrade our second evening in a family suite. From this point on we had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The free kayaks & pool, & the staff (apart from the first crazy front desk person) were great.
See the whole story.

We really enjoyed our stay at Te Moana. The staff were friendly and attentive and my request for an early check in due to flight arrival was accommodated. Would stay again!
The bathroom was a bit old and worn.

Lit confortable , restauration bonne.

Location is perfect, sunsets were amazing. Great selection of cocktails and drinks.
The Pool and access to the sea for snorkelling also great. Although there is a fast current that runs along the inside of the reef so it’s not suitable for all swimmers.
The guys that run the water sports are very helpful and always happy to see you 10/10.
Staff are very helpful and attentive. If I were to return to Tahiti then I would definitely stay again.
I stayed in 2 different garden rooms, the first one was very clean and tidy, the second one facing the back of the restaurant was a bit tired and needed some TLC to bring it back up to a higher level.

Parking garage was unsafe. I left early from hotel after I found my back window down and the windshield wipers lifted up and a wooden pallet blocking my car, this was extremely unsettling. I spoke to someone at the desk and they could care less. I took pictures of it and showed them. I was already late to an excursion, so I left and didn't come back until the next day during daylight it was time to check out.

The pool area with outdoor bars and restaurants were fantastic
The bath tub and no shower was terrible.
Jus a small hose thing you had to hold in your hand so difficult to wash yourself especially face and hair

We loved everything with our stay! We stayed between Christmas Eve and Boxing Day and Te Moana was perfect. The pool's lovely with the swim up bar and the lagoon area was great for snorkelling (we borrowed fins for free) and they had other activities if you want to Jetski etc if you wish. The staff that worked around the pool were always super friendly and helpful making sure our belongings were under cover when a short downpour happened when we were in the pool. The little bar and mini motu area were amazing and perfect for the sunset. We had the more affordable room so no balcony/view but the room was perfect for us and the bed was super comfy. The bathroom was great too. Our food was on the pricier side but we were staying for Christmas and being at a resort, this was expected. If you have rented a car, there's parking (once you have checked in) underneath the building or across the street if full.
You can do the activities for cheaper if you wish to but if you want the convenience of finishing the activities right by the resort then why not.

the service was pretty average

Great location. Beautiful views. Rentals available right on location for snorkeling, SUP, etc. Service is great. Nice bar with a beautiful location to watch the sunset. Excellent on location restaurant.
Only one restaurant on location. Would like more options, as there are not many other restaurants within walking distance. Nice pool but not heated and no beach access from the hotel. A small lagoon but otherwise need to travel to a beach.

Close proximity to Fa'a'a (Papeete's airport). Easy to scuba dive from their dock (Tahiti Nui Diving has a rigid inflatable boat). Nice infinity pool, and also an ocean manmade lagoon. Good bars.
I waited to make this review, so I wouldn't be so angry. This was our second time staying here...last time was 4 years ago when it was called the Manava Suite, and we had no problems. While boat scuba diving leaving from their dock, I and my daughter left our sandals near the lockers. Before leaving them I specifically asked the staff if this was okay and was told yes. We suspect an employee or family member of an employee stole them. The employees in the area were shocked that someone stole them. Initially we didn't get anywhere with the hotel management, until we reminded them that they have security cameras which would help them figure out who took them. I also didn't have any alternative footwear. We got the sandals back about 1 1/2 hours later. The management should have been more proactive.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. All resort amnesties included like kayaks and paddle boarding. Dive shop on site.
The parking garage was difficult to navigate with a mid size car

Our over-the-water bungalow was stupendous, allowing us to simply climb down a few stairs into the shoulder height warm water and snorkel with thousands of fish. Staff helpful, breakfast buffet quite good, weather was perfect, and see-through coffee tables in unit allowed us to observe fish anytime we wanted without getting wet. Special place
The Polynesian show was limited and not as good as i remember from 10 years ago.

beautiful hotel at the end of our cruise
whilst offering a transit room post check out, this was actually a shower in a very small room, without a toilet, or air conditioning. unbearably hot.

They offered me an upgrade to a much larger room located in a quieter area of the hotel although it cost me an additional $40 per night. The upgraded room was fantastic although slightly dated and needed more outlets for charging electronic devices
Would have been nice to know the standard rooms face the street and the entrance so noise could be an issue up front before I booked the room. The standard room needs more outlets and not worth what I paid. The standard room is like putting lipstick on a pig.
