Stayed for a week. Nice property. Walk to the beach is a bit long but other than that, no complaints.

My wife and I brought our two dogs out to spend a holiday week at the Outer Banks and could not be happier. A super convenient location just steps from the beach, we will be back again!

Had an amazing birthday week and stay! Enjoyed the close beach access and had plenty of space. Didn't want to leave. Thank you guys!

Me and my family had a great time. The house was clean and well stocked with supplies. Just a couple issues; The TV in the master bedroom could only play 1 channel. It was unable to connect to the Direct TV and 2 of the sliding doors were hard to open and close. The keyless entry was great as well as the communication from your office. Thank you.

Enjoyed our stay at Driftwood very much. House was well equipped, comfortable and clean. Great beach. Enjoyed the deck and screened in porch.
Convenient to local shops and restaurants in Avon. Avon is a great little town with a fun, happily subdued, beach vibe
Only negatives at the house were sluggish tub and sink drains in master bathroom and wish the view of the dunes from the deck wasn’t obscured by the shrubbery.

TV, Microwave and Plants, Oh my!
The house was clean and nice, but there was no microwave, the DirectTV could not be accessed (appeared to be lack of payment) and the brush around the house was extremely overgrown, impeding our view of the dunes and ocean, and clear access on the walkway to the beach. The property manager did rectify the microwave issue mid week (first loaner, brand new, didn’t work, had to replace that next day), cut back some of the bushes so we could walk on the access way behind the house, and tried multiple times to contact the owner about the TV issue, which was never rectified. When you have two teenagers TV is a must! Would not recommend this house unless the brush around the house was cut back properly and the TV was usable. Thanks.

House was great but the property needs a lot of yardwork done!
The house worked for me and my family. However, all we saw were bushes and trees totally overgrown all the way around the house. You couldn’t even see anything but a tree on the back porch. The walkway to the beach had overgrown bushes. The deck needs some work done on it and!or improvements. The back gate didn’t work well because the bottom hinge was broken. You couldn’t use the fish station or the grill because of overgrown trees/weeds. Overall, if the yard was cleaned up I would’ve thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Beach Vacation
The house was nice, decor was beachy and welcoming. Generally I felt that it was clean. Unfortunately, there were some property maintenance issues. On the property there were spiky weeds that had overgrown onto the boardwalk, stairs, and walking path. Not only were they a tripping hazzard, but the dogs paws ended up getting cut up because of them. Next, the windows didnt properly shut in a couple of the rooms and all you could hear was a whistling noise all night. Lastly, the screen door on the screened in back porch was broken. When maintenance was called they never came to fixt it.

Nice place to be peacefully quiet
We decided to stay in Avon, NC on a whim. We found the house location private and inviting enjoying both the back and upper decks. Very peaceful, great place to read a book in Oct.

What a gem!
I love this property - a charming little beach box in a great location. The house was very clean when we arrived and I received a follow-up survey regarding the cleanliness.
I needed a change of scenery from out current world situation and Driftwood was the perfect getaway for my dogs and me.
I enjoyed morning coffee in the crows nest, an afternoon nap on the deck (great deck furniture compared to my last two summer rentals A+) and evening fires on the beach.
I loved the peekaboo view of the ocean over the dunes from my ‘office’ and you can hear the waves at night.
A nice clean beach is just a short walk over the dunes.
I will defiantly rent again. Thanks for owning such a lovely quaint little property.

August 2020
The time my family spent in the Driftwood home was great. The house was very spacious for my children, mom and two infant grandchildren. The house was immaculate upon our arrival. The rooftop deck afforded us a gorgeous ocean view. As a family we sat out on the deck and used the sunroom to wind down in the evenings. This was the first time my grown children experienced the Outer Banks! We will always hold fond memories of the time spent in this beautiful home. The only disappointment I had with the property was the extremely long time it took to get to the beach walking the trail. When I booked an oceanfront home I expected the home to be closer to the beach. It was difficult carrying our beach gear and two infants. My mother is older and experienced great difficulty. I had one maintenance request which was immediately addressed. Everyone at the rental agency was pleasant and helpful.

Home Repairs/Updates:
Overall, it was a wonderful stay! It was a short walk to the beach and had everything we needed. However, there were a few small issues: the ceiling fan in the master bedroom (king bed) made a loud knocking sound, some floorboards in the deck were bowed and coming loose (therefore causing us to trip!), the kitchen sink dripped 24/7, there was not a garbage disposal, the vacuum smelled light wet dog when turned on, the dryer left clothes still damp after its second load, the fridge took 24 hours to get cold so we had to keep our groceries that would spoil in our coolers for the first night, a bush around the bend on the pathway to the beach needs to be trimmed (our things got snagged occasionally), and we saw a rat up on the roof/heard them in the walls one night! I hope the homeowners take the time to look at getting some of these items repaired/updated to improve the stay.
