The pictures on the booking.com website only tell half the story....we found a Scandinavian 'hygge' paradise run by Magnus and his team, with Albin the ever-present source of wisdom and support. Everything is so tastefully done, warm, cosy and candle lit, with vaulted ceilings and a really laid back super-friendly vibe. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, mostly from Sweden and always in perfect English. The roaring fire and 'rotisserie' dining experience with a variety of fresh salads, served alongside the flame-cooked locally sourced meats and game, were a surprise addition that really made our stay quite the unique experience! Breakfast was a viking-level feast, with every option available to send us on our way to the slopes ready for action and with pic-nic baguettes packed.
There is nothing to dislike about this 3 star hotel that punches well above its weight. This is not a 5-star luxury resort hotel at a ski-in/out location charging a king's-ransom for spoon-fed frills. But, if you know your ski-stuff, appreciate what really matters in the mountains and are the adventurous type that enjoys an independent holiday experience - then this is a must-do unique place to stay. The Aravet ski lift is only a short walk and the Skimium rental shop is en route, couldn't be simpler! If you have a car, then the entire valley opens up to you, beyond the service timetable of the resort bendy-bus. It also makes ski day-trips to Montgenevre, La Grave and Puy villages just a 30 minute hop. As Arnie once said..."We'll be Back!".

The staff is careless and the management is sloppy. They made us pay twice for the stay by mistake and after 15 days we still haven't received a reimbursement. Reception and check-in is only open after 17:00, be careful with your planning.

Helpful staff
Doesn't have amenities in the room: teapot/coffee
No heat management in the room (too hot, couldn't reduce the boiling-hot cast-iron heater, and having to open the door/window is not ideal with a 16 month old baby)
No elevator: not necessarily an issue for everyone, but for our family with heavy bags, it was.

We staid for one night as part of our plan to do a Lac de la Dauche track in the Des Ecrins park and visit Briancon. The hotel located in an old building with wooden stairs and floors. Has very rustic vibe. Good wi fi services. Spacious room for a family of four. The hosts were very pleasant.

The hotel has been decorated with a lot of taste, the building is old and incredibly charming. It is completed by a beautiful terrace. Ideally placed in the center of La Salle Les Alpes, the room is fairly priced. We loved it and hopefully will come back in winter. Parking is 2minutes walk from the entrance.
There is nothing we didn't like about the place.

Great views of the Aples, ability to park and drop off bags before parking just 300m away. Rooms warm and comfortable in the middle of winter. Close to many restaurants and access to ski hire and lifts just 500m away.

OK continental breakfast, nice staff and great location.
The hotel is in severe need of renovation. The room smelled like mold and and was lacking basic equipment like a fridge, water boiler, cups and glasses.
The restaurant and bar was closed.
Would not recommend.
