Séjour en amoureux

L'accueil d'Umberto, ses conseils , son humour mais aussi ses marmelades... plus spécialement celle au 🍋 Sans oublier la vue spectaculaire et le calme diurne et nocturne. Nous étions en Vespa et donc autonome pour nos déplacements. Une belle découverte.

Disappointed

We loved the views. It’s simply breathtaking.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. We read the reviews so didn’t expect much but still. We were told that we’re going to have a nice room. Our room had the smallest window I’ve ever seen, looked like a small hole, and the doors had windows that could open and let some light in , however the glass wouldn’t open so you couldn’t get any air. We were told we have a private terrace, however it’s not private as people from neighbouring room can use it too and the owner was using it too. We couldn’t open the windows in our room because people on the terrace would see us straight away, no curtains or anything like that. The sun loungers on the terrace looked disgusting, really old, with stains and tears. Anything you need, you need to ask for it. Feels like you’re staying as a guest in someone’s house, and everything feels like a huge favour. We had to ask for fresh towels on day 4 since there was no room service. Same croissants and coffee for breakfast every single morning but apparently if you ask you may get a yoghurt?? Overall the whole experience wasn’t nice

The view at Melograno was amazing, especially the breakfast terrace overlooking the Mediterranean, with Umberto’s delicious home made Lemon Cake baked freshly every day.

In short, you’re realistically paying for the view. However, my partner and I really appreciated the “homely” feel of Casa Del Melograno with having homemade breakfast every morning and having a host as helpful as Umberto.

We didn’t realise how small our room would be for a 6 night stay which proved to be quite challenging. Be aware that the b&b is a down hill walk (roughly 400 steps) from the local shop and bus station and 900 steps up from the beach - be prepared to get your steps in!

La Casa Del Melograno is in a beautiful location and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views are incredible. Furore is a great location, quiet and easy to get to all of the tourist spots if you have transport (this is a must, hire a car or scooter otherwise it would be difficult as Taxis expensive!). Umberto was very helpful and always on hand to answer any questions, help book excursions (highly recommend the boat trip to Capri) and helped us hire a scooter. Our room was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfy. We loved being able to sit out on the balcony in the evening. Umberto’s homemade marmalades for breakfast are fantastic!

We stayed for 10 nights and felt the room lacked a few basics like cups/glasses/plates/kettle if you wanted to have a drink or eat a sandwich. The room had a fridge but it was quite small. The aircon was nice but seemed to only work at certain times of the day. Breakfast was great but a bit of variation would be nice (fruit, yoghurt, juices etc) but the croissants were lovely.

Overall, om pleased and happy with my stay

The view is amazing. Room was very nice! The host is helpful. Om pleased with the driver to/from the AirPort.

There should be more alternatives to choose from regarding the breakfast, so the guests can have some variation. The description was written in a way, that said that the guests have access to a fridge, which is not true. The guests didn’t have access to the kitchen, this should be clarified in the description.

Our stay at la casa was incredible. We had a room with a magnificent view and the photos do not do it justice. Umburto is also a magnificent host. He does his best to help and guide you in your travels to neighbouring towns Amalfi and Positano. If you are familiar with transport and the layout of the Amalfi coast, La Casa is a great value choice. To get to the main public bus stop it is a 600 step (I counted) up hill track. Although there is a private bus stop which can be organised through umburto which is a 5-10 minute easy walk away. On one occasion we were stuck and not sure how to get home. Umburto was able to come and pick us up for much less than a cab. Overall, my Wife and I had a beautiful time on the Amalfi coast and at La Casa all thanks to umburto

The most awful hotel services in my life and the big lie of Mr .Umberto that offended us ...

No cleaning at all of the room ,so too dirty everything....the elevator is closed after 21:00 and the most important and serious thing is that the hotel offended me by telling the big lie to booking that I left from the hotel without paying meanwhile we had paid by credit cards one day before our checking out ....awful behavior of the hotel owner

Unfortunately when me and my husband chose this hotel we chose it because of the great amazing beautiful sea view balcony...OK yes we had the perfect view during our breakfast but ....what about the rest ???First of all as about the cleaning of our room we stayed 5 days and ...our room have never been cleaned...never ...we were obliged to ask for new 2 big towels the last day ...our bathroom.. you don't want to know how was it after 5 whole days with noooo cleaning at all ..Anyway ..then the breakfast very tasteful but too poor ...it's breakfast just for a kid only and also everyday we had the same and same again and again ....lemon cake and croissant that's all! After this breakfast me and my husband we continued outside with a second part of breakfast...Oh yes!!!Then the breakfast is from 8-9 ...that's all After 9 ...it's your problem...sorry....!!!! Then the elevator is open until 21:00 ,because the owner Mr Umberto doesn't want to be there to help you in the case of having problem with the electricity of the elevator...That's was his answer in the question of my husband"why so early closing the elevator Sir"...Soooo after a long long way of a touring day and having eating a lot ...after 21:00 when you will go to get rest to your room,in order to get into your room you HAVE TO GO UP 80 STAIRS....!!!!!!Yes 80 stairs to have a lovely sleep at your bed....As about our room ....sooooo small that my husband was waiting for me to go out of the narrow in order to go to the bathroom....!!!Anyway after all this bad hotel service something more very bad happened that I don't want to refer about it and when I told to Mr Umberto that I am sorry but I will do bad critics to booking because I want to PROTECT other customers he did that extremely awful thing ...He send message to booking that we left from the hotel without paying at all...

Exceptional

Beautiful Location. Best view in the house. Our room was very spacious. Homemade croissants and lemon cake for breakfast, also homemade orange and lemon jam all made by Umberto. Delicious. Local restaurant Relish also excellent food

Average. Not good value for the money

Room was a good size for 2. Great view from the balcony. Manager of the hotel made things happen whenever we asked for assistance. Helped us rent a private boat and a vespa.

- towels and bed sheets don't get changed daily -no decent soaps, etc for the bathroom that are sufficient for 2 people -breakfast was simply a coffee, croissant (not so fresh) and dry lemon cake on a daily basis. -room was basic. Old furniture. No fridge. Expensive overall for what you get. Not good value for money. Not much attention is given to the property or guests.

Fabulous

The host was so incredibly helpful, even acting as our personal taxi service multiple times. On our way to the Hotel, we became stranded in Naples after missing the last train and he even came to pick us up, helping us get dinner on the way back. Amazing host!

Würde ich nicht empfehlen.

Location was fantastic but very difficult to find. Place is roughly 150-200 m up, and built into a steep cliff wall, which makes for a great view. However, the next restaurant is 200 steps up, next good restaurant is 500 steps up - so it's really hard labour to get something to eat. Particularly helpful was that we then had to climb down these steps in complete darkness - not recommended!

What was really sad was that the owner was barely friendly - we were told three times that we had to have our breakfast by 9.30, conversation was limited to yes and no, and we had the impression that he only tolerated us to make some money.

A shoebox with a nice view

The view was incredible. Breakfast coffee was good. The people we met at this B&B were incredible and we shared many laughs at our experiences and shared unmet expectations.

If you do not have a car or motorbike or personal driver/transfer and you are travelling from Sorrento end of the coast – we do not recommend staying here. Google maps said take the bus and then walk 600m (12minutes), turned out we were hiking for 54minutes up a cliff with 12-15kg suitcases in hand. (If you're coming from Amalfi you will come downhill so no problems!). Check in was okay, simple to the point, not much personality. Our room was disappointing, – not pictured in any of the photos it was a shoebox with a nice view. We saw rooms of other guests (that we befriended during our stay) and realised we hadn't received the same value for money. Not much choice around for dinner. But if you have a car, no problemo. The facilities were not worth what we paid. But the people we met here made it worth it.

We had booked 04 rooms , 02 of Double and 02 Quad . Of the double rooms one room was extremely small and can qualify for Single occupancy room only. How can possibly 02 rooms of same category be different ?
