Desert Breeze Oasis is an expanded homestead Jackrabbit Cabin situated on 10 private acres with unobstructed views of Joshua Tree National Park to the south.
The cabin alone can accommodate up to four guests (six when utilizing the cottage). The open floor plan provides space for entertaining with a private bedroom complete with a king-size bed. The bonus room offers a functional sofa-sleeper for additional guests or children.
Inside the humble kitchen, you are presented with a well-stocked pantry and all the essentials for your stay. The sectional sofa makes you feel at home with Bluray movies, books, and guide resources. When you can't unplug we offer a smartTV with DirecTV Stream, Netflix, Amazon Prime plus basic WiFi.
The outside patio area has a wood-burning stove and ample seating, so you've got a spot whether having a cocktail or tending to the nearby gas BBQ. Explore a bit further to the deck eating area or fire pit perfect for the celebrated marshmallow roasting and smores construction.
With views of Joshua Tree National Park to the south and Mt. San Gorgonio to the west, you feel as if you're drifting away from daily life. Choose your patio based on sun or shade desire and watch the hummingbirds, roadrunners, and bunnies snack in the garden! Your desert dream is realized while swinging in a hammock or playing yard games with friends. Come nightfall, the night sky is amazing from our Astro-Lounge sky bed and perfect for the astronomy buff or astrophotographer.

A close drive to Indian Cove Campground and either the north or west entrance to JTNP. This rural setting provides great privacy but is located close to town so you can plan excursions with ease.
The cottage bunkhouse can provide a second private bedroom and is limited in amenities. The cottage DOES NOT have a private bathroom or running water. The cottage is fully furnished and equipped with wood floors, a vaulted ceiling, a queen-size bed, a ceiling fan, mini-split AC/heater, WiFi, and linens.
The cottage provides its own private patio and pergola. With expansive desert views and privacy this extended space provides additional accommodations for larger groups but please note it is NOT suitable for younger children without supervision. Utilizing the cottage requires special arrangements and is subject to an additional per night per person rate (minimum 2 nights).
Rest assured, the cottage is ONLY available to guests staying in the cabin with prior arrangements. The property is private and not shared with anyone other than your group.

This is a beautiful comfortable property with lots of space. The views are incredible, and there is peace and quiet. We felt safe and relaxed here. Proximity to 29 Palms and Joshua Tree makes it convenient. The roads are a little rough getting up to the site, but passable. Just be aware the turnoff is not easy to see at night. Once you arrive, you will be so happy with your choice. Great place!!!

We had a wonderful stay here. The cabin and property were exactly as described, and communication with the host was easy. We spent our time exploring JTNP by day and stargazing at night. We would love to return here in the future!

The house was very comfortable and well equipped, and wonderful to relax in after days of hiking in Joshua Tree. The landscaping and acreage were beautiful and fun to explore. The birds were fun, and a coyote visited the porch early one morning. We appreciated the hiking guidebooks!

House is perfectly outfitted for guests. Hosts thought of all needs including a hammock to hang on the porch and yard games! She gave us an excellent recommendation for a hike and a tour in Joshua Tree. We did both and thoroughly enjoyed them. Cloudy skies were dominant but still tried out the bed in the desert for sky watching. Lovely place. Highly recommend a stay in this home

We've stayed at many VRBO properties over the years, and this place ranks among one of our favorites. Very clean and well-stocked. Great location with quick access to JTNP. Great communication with the owner, Susan. She provided us with a bunch of helpful suggestions for our trip. The cottage was a great feature, since our college-aged son was with us. The sky bed was another neat feature that we really enjoyed. Also enjoyed the landscaping, which attracted many different birds. Just a wonderful place all around. Would highly recommend.

Susan is a Rockstar Host! She keeps us updated of any event happening and provide suggestions for any trails! Very knowledgable host.
Although we did not see a lot of stars because of the moon is high and a lot of clouds. We saw the Starlink chain which Susan mentioned to us! So keep your phone close for her message! ACs are our friend during the stay it keeps the cabin cool on a 100ish weather! My kids age 16, 10 and 4yrs old did not get bored during our 4days stay. They enjoyed the exploration outside day or night! We saw black widow, jack rabbit and gopher or pine snake outside the cabin! My explorers call it a success exploration. Will come back next time and I will make sure to see starts next time!

This house was wonderful. Susan was a super host, the house was clean and comfortable. The location was the best and exactly what I was hoping for. Quite, beautiful, full of desert wildlife. I spent every sunrise on the sky bed! A great place to unwind and forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Desert Breeze Oasis was so phenomenal. It was beautiful and clean. Everything you would have wanted or needed was there. It was so cozy and wonderful that we would have been happy spending the entire time there instead of sightseeing. If you don’t try it, you’re missing out!

Even before we arrived she supplied us with lots of advice and information including tours, restaurants, and local activities. During our stay she was easy to reach and super friendly. I’ve been to the Joshua tree area many times. Thus far this has been my favorite stay. The property offers great privacy as the closest neighbor is quite a distance away. Very comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces with ample seating and eating areas. The cabin itself is very quiet as is the neighborhood. There are several games, books and blue ray movies to entertain you and the wifi worked well enough to stream Netflix the entire time we were there. The place was very clean and had all cooking necesites both indoor and out readily available. Communication was excellent as well as the driving directions. We have a normal car and had no issues as the dirt roads are well maintained. Looking forward to returning soon

We had an awesome stay at Desert Breeze Oasis! The cabin was charming and comfortable for our family of four… the garden and outdoor spaces were captivating. It was a great location for visiting JTNP and plenty of restaurants and shops in neighboring towns. The property was remote and felt secluded and special, away from the bustle. Susan was fantastic to work with. Communication was great. Everything exceeded our expectations. We hope to come back again.

Do not look any further....this is the perfect place to stay! It is perfectly located between the East and West entrances to Joshua Tree, and close to restaurants in both towns. Yet, you feel like you are staying in the middle of the park. It is so quiet and peaceful, with great stargazing, and wonderful outdoor areas to eat your meals there and just relax. Best place to enjoy your morning coffee and your evening happy hours!! The house itself was perfect inside too! Book now!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Susan’s place. All details of design, usability and comfort have been paid a lot attention to. The garden is beautifully landscaped and the astrobed is such a cool feature! We will stay here again during our next stay to Joshua Tree Park.

Gem in the Desert!
I would highly recommend this to anyone seeking some relaxation in the desert. The location is perfect for easy access to shopping, parks, trails, star gazing, and most importantly, it's very private. I had a great time!

Loved our time relaxing at this very comfortable home overlooking JTNP. We were entertained by local wildlife and star-filled nights. Amazing location and a well-stocked kitchen made for a wonderful stay.

Under rated.
The place was nicer and larger than the photos showed. They need to take new pictures. We loved this little house so much. The host gave lots of instructions and communication prior to our arrival and the location was very close to the National Park. It was a dirt road so pay attention to driving instructions from the host. Everything was very clean even the gas grill!

This was a perfect stay in the high desert.
Wonderful two night stay. Perfect getaway weekend. We wanted to explore the high desert past Joshua tree and Yucca valley. We were also interested in the history of “the Jackrabbit Homestead” area around Twentynine palms. This lovely home was the perfect stay. Would love to know the history of the house. The owners have included everything you can think of to make your stay perfect. Loved the gardens and all the outdoor settings. Will be back!

Susan has thought of so many homey touches- my favorite being all the books about Joshua Tree hiking, climbing and flora and fauna. Lovely landscaping and just the right distance from “civilization “

We loved this place. Quiet, private, comfortable. I wish all of our rentals could be this great. The bed was comfortable, kitchen was well equipped, and the location was perfect for dropping into Joshua Tree. Definitely recommend!

Lovely desert retreat
It was a perfect little retreat for our small family. The well furnished cabin, lovely garden, quiet atmosphere, and great night sky were just right in every way. The location was perfect, remote enough to appreciate the tranquility, and close enough to both entrances of Joshua Tree National Park. We appreciated the professionalism and friendliness in which the rental information and direction were presented. We will come back one day, definitely.

A little breather...
The minute we walked in the door, we immediately fell in love with the cottage. It was perfectly appointed, sparkling clean and had everything we needed.
We loved the beautiful yard, with the surrounding desert as a backdrop. We ate all our meals at the outdoor table, had a lovely fire in the pit provided which included wood and a firestarter tab, honestly, they thought of everything. I loved reading my book in the hammocks on the patio each afternoon.
Our time here was perfect!

Desert Oasis
This was the perfect getaway for the two of us! We had a lovely view over the valley with a spectacular night sky and beautiful morning light on the mountains. The cabin itself was clean and welcoming, with everything we needed. We appreciated the selection of guides and reference books for Joshua Tree that helped us choose some less travelled hikes and sights. Susan was accommodating when our flights were changed and great to communicate with. I wish we could have stayed longer and I hope to come back again!

Private, Artful and Versatile
This modest but beautifully appointed cabin is far enough away from neighbors that you’ll have the feeling of privacy even though the location is conveniently close to town and the Park. It’s perfect for one or two people, but is cleverly designed to sleep up to six. The bed is comfortable and there are thoughtful, artistic touches everywhere—it is more charming than even the photos suggest. I had a wonderful stay here.

Perfect peaceful oasis
Out of all the vacation rentals we ever did, this one is definitely in the top three! Excellent quiet location with beautifully landscaped yard that seamlessly integrates into the desert scape. The house and separate cottage were super clean and beautifully and simply decorated. Everything is functional and we had absolutely everything we need in the right place. Susan was very helpful with clear instructions. Enjoyed lighting a fire at night on the patio gazing at the stars. Had such a wonderful, memorable time. Thank you!

We spent two nights at this wonderful, cozy cabin and wish we could have stayed longer. Susan has cultivated a beautiful, laid back, desert escape with killer views. The cabin is small but it was plenty comfortable for my husband and 5 y.o. to all share. And once you factor in the incredible outdoor space, we never felt cramped. Location-wise, I thought it was perfect. A short drive to either Joshua Tree proper or 29 Palms. And far enough removed from those two cities to feel immersed in nature. As other reviewers pointed out, there is some highway noise that floats up but you can't hear it inside the cabin and outside it is more of a white noise than a distraction. The star-gazing was fantastic.Overall, we found Susan's space to be the perfect place to relax, explore the area *and* stay connected if you need to get work done. Looking forward to coming back the next time we pass through.

Cozy thoughtful cabin in the desert
Loved it! The thoughtfulness of the details made all the difference. There were so many lovely places to sit and enjoy the views, details like useful hooks, basics in the kitchen like coffee and salt, pepper, butter and a brita water filter made such a difference. The star viewing was amazing. We saw a green shooting star! The morning we left we were on the porch enjoying a morning coffee when a pack of 4 coyotes silently wandered past.

Desert Getaway
The property was even better than we expected. It had all the necessary amenities and was a great getaway spot. Secluded but just a short drive to town and Joshua Tree NP. Beautiful landscaping and view of the surrounding mountains.

One of my favorite VRBO rentals ever
We loved this place! In a remote location so you can see plenty of wildlife, but not too remote at the same time. It's just a few mins away from the main highway that leads you to Joshua Tree National Park. J tree park entrance is only 15 mins away. We saw jackrabbits, Gambel's quail, roadrunners, and even a barn owl at night on the property. One of the cleanest places I've been to and very bright and cheery. The owners were very communicative and accommodating. We will definitely be coming back!
