About this house rental

The Yabby Shack is a very comfortable and affordable lakeside cottage. It is a short stroll to the lake, beach, bowling club and local shops. Sit out on the deck and enjoy a relaxing stay. With the beach and lake a few minutes walk away you are guaranteed to have an enjoyable day either fishing or swimming , boating or just catching up with a good book on the beach. The local Bowls Club is a must for a really enjoyable and affordable meal. Rainbow Beach at Bonny Hills is just a short drive away. Sit back under the whispering Sheoaks and soak up the atmosphere. Port Macquarie is just up the road where you can catch up with a bit of shopping, take in a port side restaurant or cafe and enjoy the the most comfortable climate on the east coast. Actually the whole area has a lot to offer. There are some great drives and walks to the west with some famous old town like Wauchope and Comboyne to visit . Anyway.....as we said...sit back, relax and unwind !!!

We have stayed at The Yabby Shack before. It’s great for us as we can come together as 2-3 families, eat together and have our own space. The main bathroom doubles as an ensuite in the main bedroom. Only draw back, I forgot to bring my own linens. Luckily, the local Woolworths has a good supply.

Quiet street,but close to everything.The house is very homely and spacious.plenty of room to take a large family.all facilities at the property were clean,working and good to go.clear instructions around the place also.we really loved waking up to the sound of the ocean and to walk out onto the back deck and see water was a really good way to start the day.Thankyou David and family.

This property was very close (4 mins) from where we needed to be in Lake Cathie and so was excellent. The kitchen had everything one could possibly want and more. The beds were very comfortable and there was ample hot water for our group of 5. I tripped and broke an item and when I told the host David he could not have been nicer about it which made me feel so much better. Our group was aged from 7-78 years.

We stayed at the Yabby Shack whilst visiting some family in the area. The location is wonderful. Great views of the water from upstairs. You enter the house upstairs where the living and kitchen annd bathroom are joined by two bedrooms. The downstairs is reached by an external staircase off the rear balcony, which did separate our family members a fair bit. While it’s an older feeling property, the decor is cheerful and is happy and relaxing. Id definitely recommend it to people who want to enjoy the seaside location on a budget.

What a Beautiful Location in Lake Cathie!!! Everything is just 5 mins walk from the house. The house itself was clean and tidy and all instructions were provided clearly. Enjoyed our stayed over the Long weekend with Family and Friends. Would definitly recommend this Host!!!

The house was very homely and we loved the back verandah, the views were amazing. The kids went down to the lake and there were lots of stingrays and then up popped an octopus. Made there day. Thank you for a great place to stay, I think we will be back.

Overall really well appointed and comfortable 'beach shack' style accommodation. Plenty of room just not car parking friendly. Would book again in an instant.

The bed was fantastically comfortable in the master. Didn't realise upstairs & down were separate but kids were happy with their own space. Just found the parking a little tight on the one way street.

The Yabby shack was a lovely place to escape and relax, lovely view from the large sunfilled deck and short walk to lake and beach. Shops nearby for essentials and coffee shop just over the bridge, only a 20min drive to Port Macquarie, lots of things to do and places to see if you so desire. The house is very homely and we felt instantly relaxed, had everything we needed, would have loved to have stayed longer. Great location.

The home is perfect located within walking distance to lake and beach. The place has everything you need and feels very comfortable (like a home, homie) Great big deck at the back. We enjoyed our stay very much and hopefully will be back in the future.

The property was absolutely fantastic, it was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and the location was ideal. The house had everything you could possibly need.The back deck was perfect and the lawns and gardens were immaculate. We will definately be back 😊

We enjoyed our stay at the Yabbie Shack so much we wished we had more time there. It has beautiful views over the Lake, is an easy walk to the beach & loacl store. Lake Cathie is only a short drive to Port Macquarie. we enjoyed the slower pace & peacefulness of Lake Cathie. My teenage son LOVED the downstairs area. he thought he was in heaven having his own space. Amazing short break, would definitly stay again

Other than I didn’t notice that sheets and towels are not provided before we came all the rest was great! It would be nice if we could have options to pay extra fees for hire towels and sheets.
