Great staff, great place, great ethos. Sincerely enjoyed my time here, and I hope to come back one day.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Everything you need is there. All areas in the hostel are functional and well-designed. They provide a map with recommendations on what to do, where to eat, etc.

Very rarely will you fall in love with a place, but one of the most wonderful things about travelling and living is those rare moments, the beautiful ones that you find without even thinking about it. I didn't expect to come here, but the it is one of the best places and I always wonder about when I will be coming back. The staff here are lovely people, every one of them so wonderful to get to know. I reminisce about this hostel and the good times we had here!
Nothing. There was this weird girl called Lolo

The rooms and common areas were nice and cozy and the staff was super friendly. It was located very close to two metro stations so it was very convenient to each the center of Kobe
The property is located right in front of the railway so there was a bit of noise due to the trains but as there are no trains at night it was not that much of a problem.

I was so impressed by the thoughtfulness and creativity of this hostel. It's a really welcoming cosy space, and I definitely want to stay here next time I visit Kobe.
The train, and some guests were a bit loud, but the hostel provided earplugs, so wasn't an issue!

Great recommendations by the staff, which really made the difference. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Facilities were always clean.
Noisy in the room because next to a train line and thin walls.

Absolutely lovely staff! I was so well received and had very nice conversations with Emi-san. The interior and the story behind the guesthouse all left me in awe.
I had a single room and it is unfortunately a bit tiny. had to rearrange furniture in order to open my suitcase.

I loved my stay at Maya!! All the staff were super friendly and so kind. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable, and the showers were a good water pressure. It's well connected to both the Hankyu railway and the JR lines, as well as walking distance to the Earthquake Museum/Memorial, and there's loads of places to eat within a five minute walking radius. I will definitely come back!
The top floor toilet (that I was on) is really small, to the point where i couldn't sit on the seat properly as my knees didn't quite fit, so I had to go down one floor to the bathroom a lot.

This is a charming little hostel! The people who work here are friendly and knowledgable about the area, and they give great recommendations. The communal area has a laid-back vibe and charming decor.
While the location won't be ideal for some people - the nearby trains can be noisy, and it's not in a vibey area - it has a charm of its own. The nearby Suidosuji shopping street has nice fresh produce and some charming little stores. The railway bridge right next to the hostel has little shops and studios beneath it, with a carpentry shop and studio right across the road. It's near Nada train station, from where it's easy to get to the city centre or other places.
There isn't really anything that I strongly dislike about this place. As they warn on the website, the building is old, and sound travels a lot, so the earplugs that are kindly provided are helpful.

I've stayed in multiple hostels in various prefectures in Japan, and this one is by far my favourite one.
The interior design of the lobby and the rooms creates an incredibly comfortable atmosphere. The hostel had all necessary amenities to make my 3-day stay wonderful. The staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful. All floors were very clean and well-kept.
To top it all off, the location was ideal for me, not too far from the central station Sannomiya, allowing me to easily go around sightseeing.
Will absolutely be recommending this cozy little haven to friends!

Great guesthouse very close to Nada Station and a hood base for exploring the area. Friendly helpful staff and good amenities for hostel-type accommodation.
Really close to train tracks but get used to it quickly. Did not detract from our stay. Access to level 2-3 rooms is via very steep stairs.

The staff was so nice in helping me getting around and giving me recommendations of places to eat, things to see or to do (like Onsen, museum,…). The location is 5 min from the train station so it was really convenient.

Really nice guesthouse, very well located close to Nada JR station, and Hankyu station. Great staff, very clean rooms and bathrooms, Nada onsen not too far, reached by bus or walking.
Showers are great. Coffee is good, and there’s a small yummy bakery nearby.
The Hankyu trains are passing closeby, so are pretty loud, but you get provided with earplugs.
The stairs to the rooms are very steep, so a bit challenging if you have a heavy suitcase.

Staff were excellent and the decorations were very cute. They even made a dinner reservation for me at a local resteraunt.

Great hotel (for the price), but best of all are owner & staff (and other guests). Because of them, I could really enjoy the time in Kobe. It was fun talking a lot about everything, and when I was there one of the staff members celebrated birthday and we had dinner together with some friends and other guests.
For those who like hiking: The trailhead for Mt. Maya (aotani trail) is only 10 - 20 minutes from the hotel by foot (depends on your speed). You can reach the summit in just over 1 hour if you're fast. This is to say, the location is great for hiking Mt. Maya!
Nothing.
