There were 2 adult women in our party. This place was perfect for us. The kitchen was well stocked. We just had to add the food. Bathrooms were stocked with the toiletries you might forget. The property itself is very large and the falls are breathtaking. We'll be back

We were pleasantly surprised with the cottage and all it had to offer from its location to the quaintness of the interior rooms. It had everything we needed to make it a perfect little get-away for four nights.
We hiked at Hickory Run State Park one day and rode bikes along the Lehigh Gorge another day- both about one-half hour drive. Walking down the path to the waterfalls on the property was also a highlight.
We loved sitting on the porch and having our morning coffee and watching the hummingbird.
We plan on booking the cottage again real soon and are so happy we found this little gem within 2 hours from home.

We enjoyed the comfy couch watching Netflix together. We visited the waterfall and along the way we said hello to the fish in the pond, goats and chickens, which were all on the property.
We then spent a nice time on the Jack Frost golf course.
This home was clean and there was plenty of hot water. 😂

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our older dog, Daisy. Plenty of comforts and opportunity for open air, country rejuvenation. Lots pf local history dating back 200 years in this little village. In warm weather, bring your bathing suit and float for the falls and rapids in the river (its pretty tame). The side yard is large and flat, perfect if you bring a volleyball/badminton net or cornhole. The outdoor fire pit is great, bring a box of outdoor logs like we did and your good to go for a nice evening of fire. I suggest bringing some charcoal for the iron camp site grill off of the front porch. We brought some small pieces of non-pressure treated construction wood and some cardboard to get a nice cooking fire going for a dinner of cheeseburgers and hot dogs. Inside, everything that you need is there. The Keurig was appreciated, and also the microwave. We brought paper plates, napkins, and solo cups which we used. The two window air conditioners brought a lot of relief to otherwise 90+ days outside. Finally, remember your bug spray! You are near a river and in the woods! Enjoy!!! We will return. Thanks hosts!

We enjoyed our stay in historic Stoddartsville. The cottage was as described, very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed. It was hard to leave.
We hiked along the river and on the trails around the property. There's a lot of history to learn about there. We had a couple of minor issues which our host addressed immediately. They are very nice people.
It was our first time staying in the Poconos Mountains and we're looking forward to going back.

I live im Philadelphia and although I love the city it could be stressful at times. This cottage probably lowered my blood pressure. I loved the experience of staying in an historic old village.

Photos must’ve been taken when it was extremely sunny and all the drapes opened. The place was extremely dark. You wouldn’t even have been able to read in there as there was Inadequate lighting. There was a big stain in the sink. The floor was dirty and they had one tiny air conditioner to cool down the entire place. Given the heat in our Our area at this time, we did not stay so this was an extremely expensive lesson that not everything on Verbo site is as advertised. Also, the host should let you know they have an adequate cooling if it’s summer We drove up and home in the same day

Long 4th of July weekend. Great location on the Lehigh. Swimming holes, barbecue, and quiet summer evenings. The cottage is a hidden gem for summer getaways, complete with AC. We were able to fish in the mornings, swim in the afternoon, and watch the evening fade on the porch.

Great place to stay and explore the local trout fishing will be back next year

The cottage was great. It smelled like smoke, but I think it was from the fireplace and having windows shut. It was very neat but still homey and had all linens, kitchen supplies and even a dishwasher. There was a small fan, but we brought our own box fan, which I recommend if it’s warm out. The property was super quiet, and there was lots of outdoor space to walk the dog and explore. It was hard to tell where the property ended and another property began, but didn’t seem to matter (we didn’t see any other guests). There are friendly goats on the property. The river and falls are also a few minutes walk from the cottage but down a steep hill. For fans of The Office, Scranton is only about a 40 minute drive from the cottage :)

Cosy cottage with all the things we needed to make our stay comfortable. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights.
The Kitchen had all what we needed to create meals. Pots, pans, dishes, utensils, full fridge, stove. There are two microwaves, the one on the counter top is the one we used as the one above the stove is for giants who can reach. I'm only 5ft2. 😉 so I'm glad there was a 2nd microwave that I could reach.
The bathrooms were clean and equipped with towels and all that you need. Good supply of hot water.
The bedroom was spacious and the bed comfy. We slept well.
The Living area is cosy and has comfy sofas, nice tv with streaming apps if you want. Clear wifi service, no problem with our Android phones.
We loved the fireplace with a pretty tile surround. We took advantage of having a fire and we had a cosy, warm evening on a chilly night. (Remember to open the flue, look up the chimney and you'll see the hook to open the vent)
The cottage is Located on a peaceful property. There's a lovely walk to the waterfall and river. Beautiful surroundings. We went when it was still chilly and too cold to sit for long. If it was warmer I could have sat there by the falls for a long while to meditate and unwind.
There's another nice walk that goes through woodland. Quiet.
The hosts are great, quick response to any messages we sent.
We would be happy to visit again for a quiet getaway.

The property is as described in the listing. We were very pleased with the house and all of the amenities. Be sure to plan ahead if you need firewood - we were able to find some after a short walk and use it in the outdoor fire pit but didn’t have good logs for the inside fireplace. The wall to the waterfalls was short and easy but we were unsure where else we could hike on the property even though there is 75 acres - it didn’t matter at the end of the day because it was a rainy weekend but if it wasn’t we would have liked to go on longer walks. The houses is very cozy and has everything we needed for a quiet weekend of quality time. Thank you for having us!

This is an older home but it is clean. If you come in the winter I recommend bringing a blanket to snuggle down with. There is a fireplace but firewood is $1/stick. You can find it cheaper as you drive around the country side. The falls are beautiful and we enjoyed walkink around the grounds.

Our second stay at the cabin, it’s really beautiful in the fall. Cabin was clean and well stocked, we enjoyed having fires in the fireplace. The owners texted us to make sure everything was ok. We were able to enjoy a great hiking day in the Hickory Run park, very close by. This is a great place to stay if you want a private getaway.

Cute cottage, nicely decorated, outside a little old. Waterfall is beautiful, but trail leading down to it is shaky and slippery. Wear good shoes. Perfect for a quick, relaxing weekend.

This has become my go-to winter location to decompress and recharge my batteries.
It’s clean, off the beaten track (in the good way!) and has a lovely fireplace with a Keurig and a large-screen tv.
I read, I ran (Poconos mountains are challenging but fun) and relaxed.
5/5, as usual. Highly recommended!
Thanks,
Jeff

Very comfy, clean, cozy cabin. Home away home. We will be back. Our twins (11 years old and our dog) loved it. Close to everything, nature and also all other places. We will be back.

The residence was very clean, and we enjoyed the proximity to nature and the sights/activities we wanted to do and enjoy, as well as any stores we would need. I learned the hard way that the next time, I would order a decent amount of firewood, as we definitely supported the local firewood industry with multiple purchases of wood.
Our only thoughts were that the internet was intermittent, at best (my wife was still on call, unfortunately), and there was no washer and dryer. That would have been keen as clothes will get dirty. Also, being pet-friendly, a vacuum cleaner would be handy. Plus, a throw blanket would be nice, as it was a bit chilly.

We spent 2 days at the Lehigh cottage between christmas and New Years. It was the perfect secluded, quiet place to snuggle up with a fireplace. Grant was very responsive and gave us good suggestions for dinner, the kitchen is well equipped and we made most of our meals there. The bed in the master was comfortable, shower has great water pressure, soft towels, and toiletries are included. The house has lots of cute touches, we were super comfortable. The area around the house is beautiful, it was snowy while we were there , right next to the Lehigh river. We would love to come back again in the spring or fall when we could take advantage of the parks nearby.

Great Place!!
Lehigh Cottage turned out to be a great place for the 4 of us! We had plans to visit multiple locations in the Poconos, plus participate in a local Hill Climb race, and picked this because of its central location to all that we wanted to do. The owner was very responsive to any needs or questions we had, and the 2 BR, 2 Bath cottage itself proved to be a quiet and comfortable retreat after our daily adventures. Plus, we were surprised to have access to the Great Falls of the Lehigh within walking distance of the cottage! We would definitely stay here again!!
