'We had such a wonderful time at your cabin. It was such a wonderful change from a boring hotel room' (Todd B.- recent guest)
This is a charming and comfortable cabin at Bass Lake that is somewhat secluded on a small hill overlooking the lake. There is one master bedroom and full bath with a California King bed and a TV. The second bedroom is small, with a bunk bed that is twin-sized on top and full-sized on the bottom. (note: there is not a lot of headroom above the top bunk). This bedroom has its own bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink. The living room has a queen-sized Ikea sofa bed (comfy!) and a large smart TV with DVD player. The modern kitchen has a nook that sits 4-6. There is an adjacent library/den area with a larger table that can be used for dining, game playing, puzzles, crafts, working at your laptop, etc. There is also a desk in the master bedroom. The wifi is fast....good for working remotely, Zoom calls, streaming, etc.
There is a hot tub on the deck that overlooks the lake. The hot tub is especially wonderful at night when all is quiet and the stars are bright. There is a patio table (with umbrella) which is the perfect spot for eating all meals, game-playing, relaxing with a glass of wine, etc. You will definitely spend a lot of time on the deck overlooking the hillside and lake. To the side of the house is a semi- enclosed yard area (not "safe" for pets to be left alone)with a concrete patio and a basketball hoop. Children love to play in this side-yard area (although young children must always be supervised)
It is a 7-minute walk to the lake. The Falls beach area is less than a mile down the road. In the other direction, there are many public beaches within walking distance or just a short drive...just choose one that fits your fancy. If you have young children, the beaches closest to our cabin have lots of shallow areas that are perfect for children to play safely in. The water is a great temperature for swimming during the summer. The Pines Village is 2 miles down the road. There you'll find The Pines grocery store, a gas station, a few restaurants and shops to browse in. There are boat and other rentals available on both sides of the lake as well as a couple of amazing burger, sandwich and ice-cream places (Millers Landing and The Forks).
New: Brand-new deck and brand-new hot tub!
Tempur-Pedic mattress toppers in both bedrooms! Sleep like a dream!
New: high chair, Pak'N'Play and baby toys! Save yourself the hassle of packing this essential baby gear!
The town of Oakhurst is just 8 miles away and has a wide variety of restaurants, movie theaters, grocery stores, bowling, etc. There is also good golf, hiking and fishing nearby. And of course, Yosemite is just up the road! It's a 20 minute drive to the southern entrance to Yosemite (and the Mariposa Grove) and then another 40-60 minutes down into Yosemite Valley. Day trips into Yosemite are very easy to do....then come back to soak in the hot tub at night!
This cabin is a perfect retreat for couples who want a quiet get-away. Families love it too!
In the winter, the lake level is down quite a bit. There is snow a few times a year but not regularly. There is usually snow just up the road towards Yosemite, and there are a few snow play areas before you get to the gates of Yosemite, near Fish Camp. There is skiing and snowboarding and snowshoe-ing at Badger Pass inside Yosemite; it's a great family snow play resort.
The house is primarily heated by an efficient wood stove in the living room. The fire will be all ready for you to light a match to once you arrive. It heats the house up fairly quickly, usually within 30 minutes. We provide plenty of firewood on the rack outside the back door. You can set the fire on “low” by moving the lever at the bottom of the stove to the right. This allows less air in, and it will burn slowly. Pile it up with wood during the night, set it on low, and it should stay warm all night long.
The wood stove is a desirable feature for most guests
**HOWEVER, If you don't want to deal with a wood stove, this cabin may not be your best option.
We are pet-friendly and have hosted many happy pooches, but we must approve your pet before final booking. Please let us know the breed, weight and age of your pet. We'll send a pet addendum for you to read and agree to. Depending upon the number of pets and length of stay, the pet fee is $65-$85. This is a separate and additional fee that will be added to your charges.

The home was very comfortable with every needed amenity. For a cabin-like getaway in an area that is super easy to navigate with parks, beaches, fishing, water sports, nearby shopping, groceries, restaurants and more you can’t do better. Hot tub a big bonus for me and the location was easy an easy drive to Yosemite

Perfect accommodation for my family and conveniently located. The lake is a min away where you can set up on the shore. We rented a pantoon from the marina 8 mins away. Took the moonlight train ride at sugarpine 25mins away. And headed up the Yosemite to do some hiking. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed.

The house was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens). The view from the deck was great and the hot tub was nice to come home to after a long day of hiking. Nice and close to the entrance of Yosemite. Had enough kitchen supplies to make meals and it was nice to have a grill which we used a couple nights to make dinner. We enjoyed our stay here.

In a perfect location with a gorgeous view of Bass Lake! Close to many day use camps, restaurants and rental facilities, and also close to town!

The house was neat and tidy, a bit outdated. The master bed was a bit too soft and the living room furniture wasn’t comfortable at all. The cous was old and cushions weren’t comfortable to sit in. The two chairs were fine but not in locations making it easy to watch tv or communicate with anyone in the kitchen.
The hot tub was great but water level was low so we had to fill it. No shower supplies provided, so bring your own. Otherwise, all the other amenities were decent and it was an easy location.

Perfect getaway for small family. Close to mariposa/Yosemite, could see the snow from the mountains when we used the hot tub, and the home was spacious and accommodating for myself, spouse, 2 kids and small dog. It was clean and the owners are responsive. The place was clean and the wood stove was pretty and kept us quite warm. This was my second time going and I would go again.

We just wanted a little weekend away from home to relax and this was the perfect property. The home is highly organized and has everything you need for a relaxing weekend. We loved the wood stove and hot tub especially but the entire home was very comfortable. I appreciated messages from the property owner leading up to the stay. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing your home!

My adult son, my dog and I travel a lot and this is one of our favorite places to stay in California. We just had such a wonderful Christmas 2023 (no snow this year .... maybe next). We plan on reserving it again for Christmas week 2024.

We enjoyed spending the 4th of July weekend with our family in Bass Lake. The beds were comfortable and the house was just the right size for 5 of us (4 adults and one child). The view from the deck was amazing and better than we expected from the pictures in the listing. A few hiccups that interrupted our stay (like a power outage and hot tub) but all-in-all, we were comfortable, close to the lake, and had that amazing view when we returned home after a day at the lake.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin We looked for a central location so we could enjoy the three nearby National Parks and this hit all our requirements in addition my dog Huckleberry was welcome too! We discovered the lake area as a bonus.
The cabin was so clean, quiet and communication with Wendy was direct and timely. The cabin was comfortable, kitchen was fully stocked, and bedrooms were so comfortable after a long day at the parks. It is close enough to town for a full run to the grocery store, gas, pizza and anything else you might need. Bass Lake has some great casual eateries that also allow dogs on patios.
This was a great vacation and can't recommend Wendy's place enough. Book now!!

My husband, small doggie and I stayed 4 days/nights at this perfect cabin with a view of the lake. The communication with the owner from the time we booked our trip to the day we left far exceeded our expectations. That goes for the cabin itself as well. The place was super clean, stocked, wonderful side yard for dog to run and play, as well as a beautiful view of the lake that we were not expecting. The spa on the deck was the perfect temperature as soon as we arrived. The master bed was the most comfiest bed we've had out of all our VRBO stays. The location was perfect distance to Oakhurst as well as Bass Lake but still secluded enough to feel like neighbors were miles away. We truly enjoyed our trip to Bass Lake and the cabin was our home away from home. Thank you so much Wendy. Next time we visit Bass Lake, we will be sure to come stay again!

My friends and I recently stayed at this lovely cabin and we couldn't have been happier with our experience! The host was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making sure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hot tub was a definite highlight - we loved being able to relax and unwind after a long day of hiking in Yosemite, which was an easy drive away. The location was absolutely perfect for us, with stunning views of the lake and plenty of nearby attractions to explore. We can't recommend this VRBO enough and we can't wait to come back again soon!

We recently stayed at this charming cabin and had the most wonderful time! The cabin itself was so cozy and inviting, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was incredibly kind and helpful, making sure that we had everything we needed and offering great recommendations for local attractions and dining. We were especially impressed with how clean and well-maintained the cabin was - it was clear that a lot of care and attention had been put into ensuring that it was in top condition. We loved every moment of our stay and can't wait to come back and experience the warm hospitality and cozy comfort of this wonderful cabin again!

We had an excellent time escaping the holiday hustle and bustle and enjoying our time together as a family. Our host was extremely responsive to messages. The cabin had some Christmas decorations so Santa was sure to find us!
The property was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the wood stove fire place kept us toasty warm.
There are plenty of books, puzzles and games to keep everyone occupied. The walk to the lake is an easy hike down the main road to the lake trail. When we got back the hot tub was a welcome place to relax and unwind. The kitchen is well appointed with appliances, utensils and dishes. I especially enjoyed my morning coffee out on the deck overlooking the lake. We enjoyed this winter getaway! Hopefully we will be back in the summer next year.

The directions were spot on the house is beautiful and the lake view from the deck was amazing. We explored Bass lake but mostly hung out in the hot tub the bbq was excellent it was nice to bbq and the weather was perfect. The rooms are cozy and the beds comfortable the variety of games came in handy for the child. I think my favorite was sitting in the breakfast nook no electronics and enjoying good food and great company we will definitely stay again

We arrived to a lockbox that fell open without a code, sliding door opened freely, it was not secured or locked, a few windows were not locked and others easily opened when locked. The a/c wall unit is not efficient for summer days. We were instructed to run 2 fans and leave all shades & blackout curtains closed during the day so we weren’t able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the view of the lake even with these requirements being met the cabin was very uncomfortably warm. You have to make your beds and your asked to wash the linens and towels before you leave. The cabin is very cute and would be a lovely place for a small family in the cool months of the year, there are plenty of heaters & a wood burning stove. The property manager replied quickly to our concerns but was unable to do anything about the things we weren’t happy with.
8.0 / 10.0
Beautiful cabin with a stunning view of the lake. The hot tub is an absolute bonus (!) and such a relaxing way to end a day on the lake or hiking! Loved it. Super close to Bass Lake, which was so convenient, including just a 10 min drive to a beautiful hiking spot and not very far from town/grocery store/restaurants.
We enjoyed the cleanliness of the home and the host was very communicative and responsive, which was great. Check in process is a little odd, as the lockbox is way down by the ground and you have to pretty much get on your hands and knees to unlock it. Not great and a little bit of a strange location for a lock box. It was also a bit inconvenient to have to make up your own beds, as sheets are not on the beds upon arrival. It was fine; just not what I’m used to when renting a vacation home.
A caution to anyone with back problems - the master bedroom bed is EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE. The sides of the mattress slope down from the center and the foam cushion they put on the top only makes it worse. It was very difficult to get a good night’s sleep with my back in pain. In addition, our daughter slept on the couch pullout 2 nights in a row and her back hurt badly in the morning. She doesn’t have any preexisting back problems like I do, but she’s still in quite a bit of pain. It didn’t ruin the trip, still had a lovely time, but due to my back issues, it probably would keep me from renting here again. I’m sure it’s nothing that some new mattresses couldn’t fix.
The living room TV wasn’t very easy to use and probably would help to have a smart TV in there so people can enjoy their own shows or movies with apps. You have to hook up the HDMI cable to your own laptop, and even when I tried that, I couldn’t get it to work, so I gave up. The master bedroom TV was easier to use and watch Netflix/screen cast from my phone, but is very small. Again, nothing that even remotely ruined our trip or our stay, just minor inconveniences that I haven’t experienced at other houses/cabins.
The only other issue is that there is a sign to remove your shoes, which we did. However, when my husband walked into the kids room (bunk bed room), there were carpet tacks sticking up in the floor between the living room and bedroom, and he stepped on them with his bare feet, so that may be something for the handyman to fix ASAP.
Overall, though, very enjoyable stay and lovely little home that made our weekend getaway cozy and fun. Thank you!

Our stay was very nice. There were some glitches or communication errors with the cleaning crew prior to arrival but the owner Wendy was wonderful in getting in touch immediately and fixing the issues. We were able to travel easily to Yosemite and were very.close to the lake so back and forth (by car) was quick and easy as well. There is so much to do we had a blast. The house had a nice jacuzzi and felt spacious enough for the 4 of us. For a simple, conveniently located place with all amenities you need, tucked away from busy roads but still close, I would recommend.

Winter relaxation
My family and I spent a relaxing quiet week in this modest and clean home. The selling point was the hot tub. It was not working on day 1 of our arrival, however, the owner immediately informed us it would be taken care of and by day 2 we were soaking under the stars!

Snowy fun!
We arrived the day after 12 inches of snow fell on the property-- highly unusual we hear. The owner arranged for a caretaker to shovel the steep driveway for us. It was fun to play in the snow during our stay. The house was cozy, with a wood-burning stove. It was a good size for our family of 3 adults. We brought our dog, who really loved playing in the snow in the yard and near the lake. We had good communication from the property owner and caretakers before and during our stay. The house was well stocked with dishes and cookware. We will likely stay here again!
