About this house rental
Located next to one of New Zealand's most beautiful National Parks, Abel Tasman National Park, this modern architecturally designed home is situated right above the famous Split Apple Rock Beach.
The house sits among native bush, ferns and kanuka trees in one of the premium sites in the Abel Tasman. Access to beach is via a easy walking, wide and private track through mature native bush.
The house has 3 large bedrooms with the main bedroom with spectacular views. Decks extend on 3 sides.
Stunning Split Apple beach is a 5 minute walk via our private track The house has three different decks which can be enjoyed according to sun and time of the day. The house and surroundings are peaceful and private and quiet apart from the native birds chirping in the surrounding trees.
The house is in a safe neighbourhood surrounded by native bush with most properties having beach access. Properties are widely separated for privacy. The beach at Split Apple is world renown, safe swimming, clean and beautiful with golden sand. Our house has fantastic views, sunrises to die for and access to this beautiful beach through some stunning virgin native New Zealand bush.
There is no close public transport, although transport from nearby Maruhau and Kaiteriteri is available. Water taxis also leave from these destinations to go up into Abel Tasman National Park. Private water taxi can be arranged and these will pick guests up and return them to the beach below the house. It is best to arrive by car and ample parking is available.
NEW: Just completed, are two new bathrooms allowing each bedroom with their own ensuite, new outdoor furniture, new balustrade and a number of other improvements to the property.
Special conditions:
Our water supply is rainwater so guests need to be careful in dry periods with the water usage although we do have a large 75000 litre storage supply. The water is drinkable and filtered (UV), but if guests have concerns, they should buy bottled water. Split Apple Rock Beach is a public beach and at times there can be a number of people on the beach which they access by sea or a public track.
Extras: Cleaning (Required, NZ$180.00 per stay); Linen (included);

We had the best family holiday in this wonderful spacious private house nestled on the hillside in the most stunning location. It was so relaxing, soaking up the sun on the deck, which had incredible views including stunning sunrises. The house is well equipped and has lots of features to enjoy. The private path through native bush to the beach was such a bonus for us nature lovers, the beach itself so inviting we swam everyday. Your pathway showcases the iconic Split Apple Rock and you arrive on the beach to the best photo spot. The house was a joy to stay in. Super clean with quality linen and plenty of towels. Loved it so much. You wont be disappointed if you choose to stay here.

Beautiful views and lovely accomodation at one of our favourite beaches in NZ. Hosts were kind and helpful too.

The only downside of this property is that we had to leave! Better than pictured. A beautiful modern home with unparalleled views, and on top of that… with private access to Split Apple Rock beach. Very quiet, well equipped, and excellent communication with owner.
A good location to head out for the day to Cape Farewell. The road into the area has lots of twists and turns so we chose to eat in. Easily done with great appliances and BBQ.
While on the upper end of our budget, this place does not disappoint and was worth every penny (or pence).

We have just spent four nights in this idyllic location. The house is spacious, very clean and well appointed. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen, the private pathway to the beach and the provision of a detailed compendium. Also appreciated was the easy communication with the host, Andrew. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish we had of booked for longer. We highly recommend this rental to others seeking peace and tranquility in a beautiful location.

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Andrew’s house! The whole house was beautiful, but we especially loved the huge wrap-around deck! Perfect to relax on at any time of day, with the most amazing views.
Andrew was very responsive to communications and made check in and check out extremely easy for us. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!!

The setting and property provided the perfect family Christmas. The house was extremely well set up for us, down to a beautiful Christmas tree ready for our presents. We’re so happy with our choice of holiday home. Thank you.

The views from this deck cannot be beat — it is truly a stunningly located house high on a bluff over Split Apple Rock. There is a lovely path to the water, about tens mins down the hill through the forest. It super quiet around. The grounds are pretty, windows everywhere. The bathrooms and bedrooms were very lovely, modern, and comfortable. It is remote and requires some very winding roads to get to any amenities, but that is also what makes it special. It’s probably best to plan to cook meals there, although there are restaurants 15 mins or more away. We really enjoyed our time there!

Beautiful spot
Well equipped with stunning views. The private track down to the secluded beach was special. A wonderful place to watch the early morning sunsets and we were luck to see the full moon rising on over the horizon. Great swimming, paddle boarding and ecology. Would stay again!

Stunning bach and views
A beautiful bach with superb interior and breathtaking views. Everything required for a luxury escape. The private bush walk path down to the beach is a delight every day, 10 minutes of peaceful bird song in the shade of the native trees. It’s a bit tricky stepping off the walkway onto the beach for small or less mobile family members. A wee extra step would help, but a minor issue in a perfect set up.

A slice of paradise.
We had a wonderful holiday in this well kept home that the owners take allot of pride in. Stunning house with an equally stunning view of the ocean. Beautiful sunrises. Nice and private with great easy access to the beach. Close enough to kiterriterri without having to worry about the holiday crowds. Great parking for the boat and cars.
Highly recommended and look forward to returning.

Family holiday
Our family of 5 stayed here in May and absolutely loved it. Having to change our original dates from March proved to be no problem for Andrew - even though the house was usually closed for the season by May. We really appreciated this!!! The house is lovely, well equipped and perfectly located. Would love to return one day.

Magic location and property
Tui Lodge is a special place. Well equipped, stunning views from all aspects of the property. We shared Christmas Day here as 2 families and we were so blown away, owners even putting a Christmas tree up for us which was so nice. Andrew is easy to deal with. Thanks for sharing this beautiful home with us.

Tui Lodge is a beautiful holiday home, tucked in amongst the native bush, with the sound of the local birds and the waves breaking the silence. My favorite part of the day was the sunrise that I could watch from my bed. The floor to ceiling windows gave way to spectacular views, no matter what the weather was doing. The property went all the way down to a gorgeous beach with the golden sand of Kaiteriteri. The private path from the house down to the beach was easy to navigate and the scenery, stunning. Our hosts Andrew and Jacqui were very helpful and gracious. The process to book, amend and pay was effortless. I would not hesitate to recommend them and their beautiful property. We will treasure the time we spent there and we will be back.

Unbelievable outdoor spaces with views
The house is beautiful and in a great location. I think it would be good to warn customers about traveling the road to the house especially after dark. Also we left with many many bug bites. Again would have been nice to have some additional info and bug spray provided.
The house is well equipped and really in great shape. We would stay again.

Stunningly beautiful home and location.
A perfect place to rest, reflect and refresh. Privacy, phenomenal views and quiet walks through private bush trail to access near empty beach for exploration, sunbathing and safe ocean access. Couldn’t have asked for more in this well appointed and wonderfully open, spacious home. A favorite I’ll return to.
