PLENTY of space for our families (12). This listing/pictures don't do justice for the property. The views are breathtaking from every bedroom, patio, and balcony. There is a pool table/pool room that isnt featured at all and should be because we all played some, especially the teens. There is a Solarium off the kitchen, really lovely all times of the day with many gorgeous plants present. Here are some things I was curious about and couldnt find in any/hardly any of the reviews.
There is ONE king bedroom on the main floor that allows for anyone with limited mobility access without having to do stairs. Master suite is upstairs, and is the only one on that level. All the rest are on the lower level, including the hot tub room.
The house does NOT have AC. We were there late June, temps were in the 80's that week. While the upstairs level will warm up, it does also cool off in the evening with the windows open. There is fishing access from the property, it is mostly trout, and it will require some work to get there. The property caretaker lives on the property in a separate "wing" of the house. He is an amazing help, provides all information needed with a tour of the house when we got there, and was available for any additional questions we had during the stay. Other than checking in, we never saw him, you don't even know he is there. We are from Missouri, and a few of us were worried about the elevation. The house is at 8,700. Nobody had elevation sickness. Ages ranged 8-67.

Our group of 15, ranging in age from 3 to late 40’s, thoroughly enjoyed the Craglough House. The bedrooms were spacious, there were different areas within the home for everyone to spread out, and the view was spectacular. We spent every night talking and eating together in the large chefs kitchen, and if anything was needed, sent a quick text to the caretaker for an immediate response. The location was great; close for activities and far enough away to provide seclusion with a grand view! The kids loved playing outside in the snow; we opened the door and they ran, climbed, and slid along the driveway. We made memories that will last a lifetime and look forward to renting again when we return to Winter Park.

Absolutely incredible! Beautiful views! Awesome location close to Winter Park and Grand Lake/ RMNP. We skiid and snowmobiled, and it was the adventure of a lifetime! The house was gorgeous and came with everything we needed, including a stocked kitchen with 3 ovens. Plenty of beds and lounge spaces. The property manager was very prompt in communication and kind. Highly recommend!

We have been coming to Winter Park for over 40 years and this was the best place yet! The views are mind blowingly beautiful. The house was completely breathtaking and the hospitality was bar none. Couldn’t have picked a better place! Saw some awesome wildlife including many birds, a rabbit and an arctic fox!!

I hosted a women's retreat for 15 adults, and this was the absolute perfect home. I could not believe the high quality and abundance of serving dishes, appliances, and cooking ware. WOW! There are so many little private spaces perfect for gathering and conversations. The caretaker was a real jewel, and the home is in fantastic condition with unique furnishings. I will stay here again and again!

This palatial, comfortable, beautifully appointed, well stocked home located in the middle of recreation opportunities is the perfect multi generational vacation site. Unfortunately a major plumbing failure 2 days into our trip caused great disruption. The caretakers and owners worked hard to rectify the situation and our costs were refunded.

Our extended family and friends had an great time at this house, conveniently located between Winter Park and Grand Lake, with numerous winter activities nearby. Gorgeous interior, plenty bedrooms and bathrooms (master bedroom suite with a stunning view of the valley and snow peaks), spacious kitchen and formal dining hall for group dinners, family room with cozy fireplace and bookshelves, game room with pool table, sunroom and hot tub. Everything you need to get away from it all and recharge in the winter wonderland. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful house!

We had 5 couples stay in this house and it was great for a big group. The dishwasher was broken our entire stay, no fault of the owners. Parts were ordered but hadn’t arrived. Great kitchen with everything you could need. The only complaint I heard was that it was very noisy for the people sleeping downstairs anytime someone was walking around above them. The house was very clean and tidy.

Each year, we spend a weekend at a large home in the mountains with our large extended family -- my other, my three siblings, their husbands/wives, and all of our children. This was one of our favorite homes that we've stayed in for our family winter weekend.
The kitchen is large and well-stocked. There is plenty of room for everyone to sit at the tables and eat together. There is a billards room which we all enjoyed playing. We read books in front of the large fire, played cards and other games from the well-stocked game closet, skied at nearby Winter Park, went dow the tubing hill in Fraser, took the little ones to the pool at the Winter Park Rec Center, and relaxed in the hot tub in the evenings. Mark, the property manager, was informative, responsive, and fantastic. All together, it was one of our favorite weekends in a beautiful, well-stocked, comfortable home.

We had a group of 10 adults and the accommodations were perfect. Lots of space for individuals, and as a communal group. Beautifully appointed, and the caretaker Mark was particularly helpful. Would love to visit again!

When deciding to return to Colorado for our family vacation, we immediately knew we wanted to stay at Craglough House again. We had 11 people ranging from adults, teens and a baby. The home is beautiful and secluded, yet conveniently located between Winter Park and Grand Lake.
We spent every morning in the conservatory drinking coffee and enjoying the views which can be enjoyed from every room. Evenings were full of fun playing family games in the rec room. Each room is large and family friendly for gathering together, but yields plenty of space for each having their own quiet spaces. The hot tub was enjoyed by everyone on the cool evenings and we spent rainy days playing pool!
All in all the home and property are absolutely gorgeous, extremely clean and very well stocked! With our large family, we will stay here again the next time we find ourselves in the beautiful mountains of Colorado!

Took the trip with 8 adults and 7 children 3 and under. Was an excellent experience. Property manager was very responsive and helpful. Place was clean. Some members of our party did not love the firm mattresses but personally I prefers firm mattress. Only critiques is that it would have been helpful to know how many pack n plays were at the property (I believe the online listing says 1 but there were at least 3) and if the photos showed the layout a bit better I would have also appreciated that.
Overall it was an amazing stay and we will likely be back.

Upon arrival Mark greeted us and walked through the home with us answering any questions we may have had. We’ve been traveling with a group of friends for over 15 years and we would all agree that this home with its location and views has been the best yet! The master bedroom is the entire top floor! Every room was nicely decorated. There were 12 adults on this trip. There is a small kitchen in the downstairs bedroom that gives one of the accesses to the hot tub. The home was very well stocked. Definitely would want to stay here again if we plan any future Winter Park trips!

This property is stunning and we had a wonderful time. The photos don’t do it justice. Not only is the house beautiful, interesting and memorable, decorated with global art and artifacts from the owners’ extensive travels, but it is surrounded by gorgeous mountain views. The kitchen is marvelous for gathering, with nice Viking appliances and a view that makes even washing dishes fun. The hot tub has amazing views, too, as does pretty much every room in the house. There was plenty of space for four families and plenty to do without ever leaving, but it’s a quick, easy drive to Winter Park and Fraser for skiing and tubing. Our long weekend there felt rather like a spa getaway. And if you have kids, they have a whole big closet filled with great toys, books games, toys and books—even a high chair! We didn’t want to leave. Mark, the caretaker, was very responsive and helpful, too. I definitely recommend this place.

This Thanksgiving, our extended family of 16 spent a week at The Castle. It was our first time, and it couldn’t have been a more enjoyable place. We had plenty of space to spread out—from the variety of rooms to the library for puzzles and games to the billiard room.
Kitchen and Dining: The kitchen had everything we needed (and the space) for our Thanksgiving cooking traditions! From pans/pots, appliances, supplies, and even Tupperware. It was the most well-appointed and well-organized kitchen we have every stayed at. The Dining room table easily sat 12 adults and we sat 16 without feeling cramped, with gorgeous Mountain View’s in the background.
There are multiple decks with views in every direction, and we went for daily hikes on the various nearby trails.
Mark, the caretaker is onsite, but completely unintrusive and was available whenever we had a need. He is friendly, easy-going, and incredibly helpful.
There were tons of “nice touches”, with a hot tub, a game closet, humidifiers in every bedroom, and amazing fireplaces.
We highly recommend The Castle for family gatherings where you want your quiet space but also your together time. And with amazing views and outdoor activities to boot!

This was our second stay at this property and we just strengthened our desire to keep coming back. The house is very spacious and it comfortably accommodated our group of 10 (still room for more, but unfortunately a couple of our friends tested positive for COVID so they couldn't join us:(
The kitchen has so much room and everything you need to cook your meals and hang out. We didn't get to use the huge dining room this time as it was cozier to grab something and eat in the kitchen, which has a fabulous sun room attached to it. The hot tub, the porches and the light-up walkway around the home adds more charm to this home. Short drive to Tabernash and WP and so many little trails to explore straight from the property. We'll definitely return!

A wonderful location for multi generational reunion. The home is beautifully furnished with many art objects. Our children (ages 4, 5, 6, 8) were very respectful of objects at their height (“this is like a museum- we don’t touch.”) The kitchen is very well appointed with all we needed. The dining table seats 12 - the size of our group- so was ideal. Views from every room and deck are spectacular! A one mile gravel road leads to the driveway. Easy access to Fraser and Winter Park. The owners were very responsive and the on site property manager most helpful.

We meet up with family at the house and had an amazing time. The house had more than enough room and we were able to explore around the property which was huge. We went in the hot tub nightly. Watched the sunset. Had big meals around the kitchen table. We saw marmots and moose right from the back porch. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

We loved this VRBO. It was large enough to accommodate our large family with plenty of room to spread out. The garden room was my favorite space. The kitchen was well equipped. Couldn’t figure out why it was taking so long for my casserole to cook. I had forgot about the attitude difference.

We stayed here fo a memorial day weekend and the place was amazing! It's perched atop an overlook of a beautiful meadow, rivers, and mountains. The house (castle maybe more proper?) itself is fantastic with a beautiful kitchen and eclectic art throughout. The caretaker was responsive and the check in was easy. The only thing I'd add is the listing should note the caretaker lives onsite in a connected dwelling.
