Updated short-term rental home with vintage charm in Gainesville has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths with wooden floors throughout most of the home with a fabulous sun porch built in 1930. This ideal Florida getaway is about a 10-minute walk to THE SWAMP, just off University Avenue. We only rent through VRBO and are the owners of the home.

As a University of Florida Alumni (Go Gators!), who was born and raised in Miami, the UF vs UM game is a rivalry game I couldn't miss. I researched Vrbo & found this property near the stadium. I reserved a year in advance in order to ensure my friends & I would have a place to stay. I was pleasantly surprised by how courteous & available the host was (Rebecca). We kept in touch throughout the process, which was very helpful. The property itself was perfect for our needs (7 adults over 40) & provided us with a uniquely Gainesville experience that allowed us to reminisce on our time at UF when we were younger. The pond & plants surrounding the property were gorgeous. The property itself was very clean & had all of the amenities we needed. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a courteous & communicative host, a beautiful home, gorgeous atmosphere, & close proximity to the heart of Gainesville. I look forward to visiting again soon!

My college roommates and I were in town for the SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and we wanted a place close to the UF campus. Stonehouse is a 10-minute walk! The house was clean, well-appointed, had amazing views of a wonderful pond with a fountain and lots of turtles. Off a cul-de-sac, the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We had everything we needed. WiFi, TV, large kitchen, laundry facilities , this place had it all. The bathrooms were full of old Florida charm compete with exquisite tile molding reminiscent of the 60’s. Showers had plenty of pressure and lots of hot water. And all three beds (in spacious bedrooms) were soooo comfortable! The decor was fanciful paying homage to UF and to the state. Grocery stores, coffee houses all close by … very convenient. We only had to reach out to the owner once - we were a bit technically challenge on how to work the Nest AC thermostat … but the owner answered our inquiry in under five minutes and we were good to go!

This is an older property, but utterly charming and overlooking a pond with a great egret, and we even saw a baby alligator sharing the sun with three big turtles, all under majestic sprawling live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. The home is really beautifully equipped, with everything one could want for a stay of almost any length. The owner is exceptionally responsive and helpful. We highly recommend this old stone cottage!

Very responsive to requests and questions leading into the stay. 3 bedrooms which made it convenient for our group. The property is a charming cottage type style in a great location. We rented this house when we came down to drop our daughter off for her freshman year at UF. Location is perfect. Located right next to campus but it was in a quiet neighborhood so you could get away from the craziness of welcome week! The house offered us the space and serenity we needed to transition her for move in. It was clean with so much charm and coziness. Becky was extremely responsive and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again when we visit our gator!

Enjoyed our short stay at the house! It was clean, comfortable, and well-cared for. It was also in a quiet and convenient location and had all the amenities we needed. I would recommend. Only critique someone might have is that the home is an older home, but that didn’t bother us a bit. Another positive note, communication with the Owner was pleasant and timely.

We rented Stonehouse for our son’s graduation from UF and were very happy with our choice. The house is located a short distance from campus and close to everything. It is tucked away on a small Cul-de-Sac with a pond in the middle filled with turtles and fish. We had a plumbing issue due to a previous tenant flushing had wipes down the toilet. The homeowner was quick to respond and had the plumber there in no time for a quick repair. Overall a good house and great location near UF.

What a beautiful house. The kitchen was amazing and had everything needed for preparing delicious meals. The sunroom was great for reading. We spent a lot of time around the dining room table talking, laughing, crying and eating. We so loved the Christmas decorations. It was awesome to have the laundry facilities on site since we were traveling for two weeks and didn’t want to pack that much clothing. We would recommend this property to anyone and would stay here again if we come through Florida again. Thank you Becky.

We felt at home when we walked in the door. The home is cozy and comfortable. The neighborhood makes this stone house even more unique. The house is provided with all necessities, and then some. The location is very convenient to UF and downtown Gainesville. We loved our stay and wish we could of stayed longer. I highly recommend this special home.

Nice quiet house with early to mid 1900's charm. Very clean and well furnished. Close to UF which was very convenient for us as we came to drop off my freshman son at school. Only suggestion would be access to a washer/dryer, but otherwise the property was great, suited other needs perfectly. Owner communicated well and access (entry/exit) was easy. Highly recommended, would stay again.

The Stone House is a wonderful place to stay for a visit to Gainesville. Our trip was nothing less than seamless from start to finish and Rebecca was an outstanding host. My daughter loved the welcome flowers and they sat in the sunroom with her all weekend as she used the area as her private sanctuary. We were in town for a long weekend swim meet at the UF O’Connell Center and the location is ideal for any activity at UF. Very safe and quite neighborhood. The house was extremely clean and well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable and inviting visit. I would absolutely recommend the stone house to others! Thanks for sharing your charming piece of history with our family and we look forward to staying with you again the next time we visit Gainesville.

This property is a one of a kind gem. Situated on a beautiful and peaceful cul-de-sac with a scenic pond in the middle, a sense of relaxation and Florida charm greets you. This historic home is beautiful and very well maintained. Inside it was super clean and stocked with everything for a comfortable visit. As a Gators fan, the memorabilia case brings a smile. The sun porch is perfect for a scenic morning workout and a relaxing coffee. Our host was outstanding, even delivering a thoughtful spring flower arrangement. We could easily walk to campus, making the location perfect, while also being super quiet. We would be thrilled to stay here on every future visit to Gainesville.

My husband and two teenagers stayed here for the weekend to visit our daughter at UF and to attend a football game. The house was in the perfect location to walk to the stadium and was located in a charming little residential cul de sac. The house was very clean and the host provided the essentials to making our stay comfortable and was responsive to all communication. Easy, comfortable, clean, charming! We will be back!

We enjoy the quiet location and proximity to campus, dining, and shopping. The layout enables three people to comfortably work remotely. The kitchen is well equipped and the household furnishings are of good quality and taste. Certainly one of the best put together VRBOs we have experienced.
