About this house rental
Rustic, quiet, beautiful, and private. This 4 bedroom, 3 bath hacienda becomes your private retreat with charm, comfort and room to relax!
The main house shares the grounds with our other vacation rental, The Bed and Burro, the smaller guest house that is perfect for 2-4 people. If available, both properties can be rented for larger parties.
The Master Suite has been updated and enlarged and features a King Size Bed, huge soaking tub and a walk-in closet that has to be seen to be believed.
There is a beehive fireplace,TV and desk as well.
The second bedroom has a Queen size bed and has access to a full bathroom with Tub/Shower and double sinks.
Next to the Second bedroom is another bedroom. It has a Queen size bed and has access to a full bathroom with Tub/Shower and double sinks.
On the other side of the house is another Suite that has a Full size Murphy bed, private full bath with Tub/Shower and an office space.
The hacienda has a Dura-Flame log burning fireplace, and a huge outdoor patio with a cooking area that features a gas grill, refrigerator and sink.
The dining room features an authentic Mexican Table that seats 10.
The living area has 2 leather couches and entire rock wall that features the fireplace.
There is a separate TV Room that features a Flat Screen TV with Direct TV and Blu-Ray DVD Player. There is also another TV available for the Master Bedroom.
There is High speed wireless available over the entire property.
There is a very large pantry and Utility room with a washer and dryer.
There is a nice size pool (not heated) and many areas of the grounds that allow you to relax, meditate and reflect and recharge. There is a hammock, a meditation garden swing, and numerous sitting areas around the grounds. The gentle wind chimes will allow you to find your inner peace and become one with the Sonoran Desert.
Convenient to restaurants and shops as well as Sabino Canyon, Mt. Lemmon, and Saguaro National Park East. Tucson is home to Kitt Peak National Observatory, San Xavier Mission, Pima Air and Space Museum, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, University of Arizona, Tucson Botanical Gardens, and more. Perfect for visitors to the World's Largest Gem and Mineral show, La Fiesta de Los Vaqueros Rodeo, and the UofA Wildcats.

The property was nice for the price we paid. There was no one staying in the smaller house on the property until the day we were checking out, so make sure you're aware of that if you are only renting the main house. The owner made sure we knew about this before booking. The shared space is literally outside the doors of the main house, so communication between 2 parties may be necessary if you're both staying on the property to share the spaces. The master bedroom and bathroom stayed quite warm (even with air on) but the rest of the house was a good temperature once we turned on the air.

Great location for driving to Sabino Canyon, Mt Lemmon, the Catalina mountains, and Rincons/ Saguaro East. And not too far to midtown/UA, downtown, Gates Pass/I-10. Good restaurants and stores nearby. Nice enough run/walk in the neighborhood. Good sunset and sunrise views from the yard.
This was a good place to bring three generations together for a family vacation. There are three separate wings of bedrooms, with two doors between the kitchen and back bedroom. (Pantry and laundry area between them.) Accessible shower with stool in the main bedroom was great for the old folks.
A bit on the older side, but I loved the Old Tucson flavor, having lived and worked there in the 1990s. Clean and well equipped. Attentive owner and no hassles. Too cold to use the pool in early January, but it was bigger than I expected and would likely be very nice. Lots of outdoor room to spread out between the pool, hammock, and grill / porch areas.

Excellent stay in Tucson, AZ
We stayed at this property for 5 weeks.
The house was very well supplied and would accommodate large groups if needed. The pool was excellent and the water temperature was fine, even though it was not heated. The property had party lights at night and a wall surrounding the perimeter to keep it secluded and private. The owner was attentive and available throughout the stay. All appliances and systems were in good repair and we had no complaints about anything. This property is located on the east side of Tucson and is in a good location for all golf courses and restaurants. If you rent this property, you will have no problems and will be pleased regardless of the size of your group.

Nice house on outskirts of Tucson
This property was just what our group of four golfers from the midwest wanted. The house was very clean and roomier than we needed. It is located in a very quiet neighborhood. We ate dinner every night at the house, cooking there many times. The kitchen has a gas range which we appreciated and is very well stocked with implements and spices and herbs. Since we played two rounds of golf every day, we didn’t get to use the many amenities that the property has to offer. The house, which would be great for families, worked as expected except for the washing machine, which we had trouble starting. This was absolutely our fault, we simply weren’t pressing the start button long enough. When we notified William of the problem he addressed it very quickly. All of my pre-trip interaction with William were very cordial. If we have the opportunity to return to this house we would not hesitate to do so.

Fabulous Rental
We had a great Christmas in this rental! Close to grocery store etc. Plenty of room for all 6 of us and large dining table that can fit a good number of people. We will definitely try and rent this place again when we are visiting our parents in Tucson. Nice back patio and it has a guest house that can also be rented if you have alot of people.

East Tucson
Great location for Sabino Canyon hikes and drive up to Mt Lemon. Outdoor entertainment area wonderful, lots of open indoor spaces to hang out. Pick up a large variety of great tamales at the Tucson Tamale Factory about 5 miles from house. ElCharo in downtown remains a fabulous Mexican restaurant. We spent a day on the west side at the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum to learn everything about desert plants , animals, rocks and minerals and my favorite the hummingbird enclosure where you are inside with the hummingbirds

Our family stayed in both the main house and the guest house. We found the whole place to be wonderfully inviting and conducive to all sorts of activities and conversations throughout the week. We also loved the location. We were close enough to the wilderness to do several great hikes yet close enough to civilization to sustain our human needs. Absolutely loved it!

Excellent accomodations!!
We needed an extended rental due to job relocation while we were house hunting, so we really need it to be comfortable. We found the house to be a perfect fit for our family's needs. Both owner and property manager quickly responded to a few small maintenance issues that arose during our stay. The location is perfect for access to shopping, dining as well as sightseeing. We highly recommend renting this property if you need a comfy house and an attentive host!! Thanks Bill!!!

Fantastic experience at "Hubbards Hacienda"!
We immediately fell in love with the pictures of the home and the grounds with all the various decorations and cozy settings. We were even more impressed once we arrived and walked in. The home was decorated beautifully and felt warm and inviting immediately. There were so many small touches inside and out which made every little spot pleasant to look at and enjoy.
It was easy to see that this home and the yard was decorated with love and caring and was so comfortable for our family. We were in Tucson for my daughters wedding and had occasion to have a some guests over prior to the wedding. They all loved the home and were impressed with how roomy it was and how beautifully it was decorated.
I spent lots of time poolside and on the porch outside the kitchen enjoying the peace and quiet, watching the Dove, Quail and Finch enjoying the bird feeders.
I can't say enough about how happy we were with the accomodations and how nice and easy the Hubbards were to work with before and during our stay. If the occasion arises again for me to need a place to stay in Tucson this home will be at the top of my list!

Wonderful Stay
We will be booking this property for a 3rd year next year. It satisfies all our needs, I say all because my adult son stays with us and works from there. The house is lovely, well equipped, everything you can want. The local manager, Mike, is very responsive to any need we have. My wife has a bit of trouble getting about and loves the wonderful huge walk in shower. The kitchen is well equipped. We stay for about 6 weeks and love the fact that everything we need is nearby, supermarket, drug store, Starbucks, hair salon, nail salon, dry cleaner, etc. Very close to the eastern part of the national park. A bit far from the university and downtown but the ride, if you use Speedway, is fast and well lit. Lots to do in Tucson, many events we go to through the musics school, the University and other theater groups. We love it.

Awesome home with so much character - pictures do not do it justice
I was taken aback seeing the love and care put into this home. My entire family was very impressed with all the different living areas and the details the Hubbards put into every room. The outside areas were very inviting and relaxing. Really, the only disappointment was the vacuum in pool had not been cleaned out, and the patio and furniture had to be wiped down and vacuumed upon arrival. Ideal place to stay--comfortable and convenient with great service from owner
We thoroughly enjoyed our return to Bill Hubbard's Hacienda and have made arrangements for a return stay. The house is comfy and has nice southwest character. The location is very convenient for all the wonderful activities in the Tucson area. Lots of birds and wildlife. And Bill and his staff provide excellent, responsive service.

Outstanding in every way!
We stayed 5 weeks in mid Jan to mid Feb. we were so satisfied we plan to return next year and stay for 7. The house is large and very comfortable. Two hvac systems to adjust the temps throughout the house. My wife has some difficulty with steps. To get into the house no steps. Huge walk in stepless shower in mbr. Four bed rooms. My adult son works from home and with us. Plenty of desk. Good location, close to parks, supermarket, drug stores, coffee shops, etc, Two miles, one traffic light. 2 minutes. Owner very accommodating and easy to reach by phone. Mike, local caretaker is responsive, easy to reach and very accommodating. Considering the size of the house, its condition, large landscaped front, rear and side yards we think it is a very good value. There is nothing bad to report. Road it is on is a bit rough but only a tenth of a mile. Grill is old and needs cleaning but fully functional but Bill, the owner says he will do something about it. Many, many light switches, ask Mike for a primer. If you like Mercy, who knows the house will clean it for you at a reasonable price. Fully functional kitchen with breakfast bar. This is a big house, maybe 2500 sf, so many rooms it is hard to say. We were 3 and spread out all over. Family of 6 or more could function here. Nice pool but we did not ask for it to be heated or use it. But lovely to sit around. Could be tricky with young kids as no fence around it. In general, no complaints, everything was splendid.

Beautiful Desert Escape
We had a wonderful time at the Hubbard's Hacienda. The house was spacious and well appointed with nice decorations. The outdoor patio, grill and bar area were beautiful and enjoyable to use. It was just outside of city limits so minutes from Catalina Highway (up to Mt. Lemmon) and Saguaro National Park East. It was easy to be in contact with the owner and his property manager throughout our stay. We highly recommend this desert home for your next getaway.

Wonderful
We had the most wonderful stay at the hacienda. The pool was cool and refreshing and the house was much better than the pictures or previous reviews led us to expect.
It's a big comfortable ranch style home with all the amenities you could need including anything for cooking and fun including board games. The desert is absolutely breathtaking. Surrounded by creosotes and mesquites it's my favorite area around Tucson. We enjoyed watching the monsoons and unbelievsble Arizona sunsets and wildlife. We had visits from a roadrunner, watched a morning dove make a nest and quietly tiptoed by the nesting hummingbird hanging under the side patio. We truly felt at home and also like we were on a vacation. Bill was a terrific host. Thank you Hubbords for a great couple weeks in Tucson.

Our party of 4 had a great, cozy relaxing time here! The beautiful Spanish mission-style home is completely private and quiet. The entire property is enclosed by a stucco winding wall. ( Hopefully keeping rattlesnakes from visiting!) I especially enjoyed exploring all the great treasures in the yard! An outdoor eating bar with grill, nice pool, clay chimineas, hanging shell mobiles, and sitting areas with fire pits all around. I even used some fresh rosemary out of the garden. Beautiful mountain views surround, and being from the Seattle area, I really enjoyed walks admiring all the different species of cactus, different terrain and SW style homes. Not to mention the gorgeous sunsets! The interior is spacious, comfortable and clean with every little thing provided. I lost my glasses and was even able to borrow a pair here! Bill very thoughtfully put together a binder to tell guests about local wildlife, places to visit, including their favorite restaurants and even supplied copies of driving directions. They also provided board games, books and travel brochures. Nice touches like this are throughout the property. We felt like we each had our own "wing" of the house. We each had a private bathroom, and there are two tv areas complete with direct tv. Home away from home. The only thing I would change is to have stayed longer! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful home, and I would love to visit again!

Horrow Hacienda
Terrible, terrible, terrible! Do not stay here! Home in terrible disrepair. Furnace broken and never cleaned; termites dropping out of ceiling; water pipes breaking; kitchen sink backed up on Thanksgiving and we could not use it! Very upset with the whole place. Health department should come in!
