About this house rental
I bought a fixer upper in 2005 and set the house up as a duplex with separate entrances & door codes. I started my bed and breakfast in my home in 2006 to supplement my income while raising my son alone. We've enjoyed seeing same guests year after year as well as meeting new ones yearly. My home improvements do keep me quite busy. Oh, the joy :) Now that my son is over 18 years old I am transitioning my main floor into more of a vacation rental. The entire main floor is the guests area. I live in the basement. **Sometimes I have a roommate, or my son staying with me. Once in awhile I have a friend or family member (s) staying with me while they are visiting the area. **Tourist season is only about 6 months so I do have personal belongings, pictures, and knick knacks, etc upstairs in the duplex.
3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms 1,500 sq ft main floor duplex/apartment with full kitchen (with utensils, 1 set pots and pans provided) and laundry; extra spot in the garage to park your vehicle; towels, and bedding provided. PLUS an additional 1,500 sq ft gaming area which include: 6 person spa, 8 ft slate pool table, soft tip dart board (pls bring your own darts) , ping pong table; foosball; front porch and back patio with gas grill and gas fire pit to enjoy the evenings. The home has central air, Peacock & regular tv channels, Wi-Fi, dining room seating for 8 and kitchen seating for 6.
I do check central air, which is upstairs (the part of duplex you reserve), every few days to make sure guests are comfortable and that central air is working properly. I appreciate you leaving the thermostat on 70 all year since it controls the heating and cooling for whole home. If thermostat is set below 70 degrees during summer months, it'll be subject to freezing up and then it quits working for days and gets extremely hot in home!!! There are plenty of extra blankets and fans for your personalized comfort.

Such an amazing stay in Rapid City! This property has so much to offer. The pool table was a hit with the whole family and we really enjoyed the swinging chairs. The hot tub is a great amenity to enjoy after a long day out exploring. The beds are extremely comfy and the towels are super soft. But the best thing about this property is how helpful LaRay is with all things. Communicating about check-in, what we needed during our stay, help with any questions, and being super supportive with checkout when our flight was delayed - LaRay was so great helping with all of these things. We loved our stay and would definitely stay here on a return visit. i highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area. It is very close to all things and has everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Big THANKS.

We loved it here! Very clean and THE most comfortable beds we have ever slept in, hands down! We loved the sparkling clean hot tub too! The host even provides a bin of flip flops for anyone who forgets his or hers! The pool table was fun at night, and you even get a garage to park in! Very close to downtown shops and restaurants and all great attractions in the area.

So clean and comfortable. Spacious and well equipped. Out host was a treasure. She checked in to make sure we didnt need anything, but was not intrusive. Intsructions for the door codes were very clear and easy to follow. Great location, safe and minutes from downtown. When we return to Rapid City, this will be our very first choice.

Although this is an older property, LaRay has gone to great lengths to update it and make it comfortable. All three bedrooms had comfortable beds, and the bathrooms had new fixtures. The living and dining area were comfortable, and thr front porch was great for morning coffee. A pool table, foosball and hot tub were available for our use. The house was well-stocked for our use. We did not need to buy anything but groceries. LaRay was very helpful in suggesting local activities and live music which we enjoyed. We loved staying with her and would come back again. A delightful stay!

The property is old and not what the description and photos depict. The beds were good. The floors were uneven creating stumbling problems.
Stairs in and out of house had a very inadequate hand rail on only one side. It was a doable home but the price was that of an excellent property. sofas old not easy to get in and out of for seniors. Pots and pans are dismal.

Host was friendly and explained everything that we needed to know. House was very clean and spacious. Site had a pool table, hot tub and other games. Place was located in a residential area and seemed pretty safe. We also had a garage to park our vehicle which was nice seeing we did get heavy rain and hail one of the days. I would recommend this location as it was also easy to get to from the main highway and not too far from highways.

My son and I stayed here while visiting attractions in the area…we couldn’t have been more satisfied. This is an older but very well maintained home which is sparkling clean.
The house is centrally located in Rapid City and makes a great base to explore all the attractions in the region.
The host made sure we had everything we needed.

My son and I ate out except for morning yogurt and cereal... evening snacks. A few minor glitches with garage door and front/back door locks but LaRay was immediately responsive via text and in person. House itself is a bit dark (decor, paint, etc....as a retired general contractor married to an interior designer I notice details). That said, everything worked and since we spent most of our time sightseeing it served us very well. In hindsight I should have asked LaRay about points of interest. I think we may have missed a few. If I return to S. Dakota I would definitely stay there.

Located in an older but clean & quiet neighborhood, very convenient to restaurants, shopping, and major highways. LaRay was a great host and checked in via text several times to be sure we felt at home. She provided things like coffee & condiments, spices, etc., so we were pretty well set from the time we arrived. We had a great stay, and would recommend this place for anyone who is looking for that 'at home' feel at a reasonable price!

Really clean, spacious, all the amenities. Only abiut 30 miles to Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer, Deadwood. Within 10 minutes to downtown Main Street. Host LaRay checked in daily to make sure everything was good and if we needed anything.

We had a great stay at this place! We looked forward to coming back at the end of each night, especially our 4 kids who took full advantage of the pool table and hot tub! It was very clean and well stocked. I especially appreciated that all 3 bedrooms had a king size bed and there were 3 full bathrooms as well. It was also very nice to be able to park our large vehicle in her roomy garage. LaRay was very accommodating and great to work with and if we had any questions she was quick to respond. I only gave the online description 4 out of 5 stars because the online pictures don’t do it any justice, it was much nicer than we were expecting! Very nice place to stay!

We enjoyed our stay and the property manager was very friendly and helpful. I loved the three bathrooms, parking in the garage and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals. It is also the perfect central location for all the attractions of the area, an one hour or less drive to all the places we wanted to visit.

The property was very nice. It had all the amenities need for a multiple night stay. The kitchen was beautiful and had everything we needed for any cooking you might want to do. Everything is perfect!
The location is convenient to almost all attractions. We visited Mount Rushmore, Custer state park, Badlands NP, Wind Cave NP and the Jewelry Cave NM. The house is very clean and has everything we need. The bed is so soft and comfortable, the place is super quiet, everyone in my family slept well. The owner is extremely friendly. My kids love playing pool at night. We had a great time!

We had such a great time. Everything you want. Awesome hot tub, very nice pool table and dart boards. Beautiful home with all the comforts of home.
