Great spot and staff/service was fantastic
The menu at the lodge restaurant was a set menu and very limited and pretty pricey. We dined there one night and was very nice but had there been somewhere close by with more variety we would of gone there. The only sides they had were carrots and only one vegetarian option- no steak only lamb. We recommend hiring a car to get to other places for dinners as Ubers and taxis canceled on us multiple times as it was too far out .

Loved the spa and sauna, rooms were gorgeous and warm. The fire inside your room was such a lovely touch. The staff were so lovely and went out of their way to make everything incredible. A++!

This is an exception property. The staff were fantastic and nothing was a problem. The decor is beautiful.

Lovely staff.
Room had leftover food in the fridge and old chips under poking out from under the couch.

Lovely rooms and main communal area - beautifully finished and super comfortable - in beautiful working vineyard surrounds. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
We booked dinner at the in-house restaurant but were quite surprised that in contrast to the website Al La carte menu it was a fixed price set menu, which wouldn’t have been a big deal but it was $190 per head which we think should’ve been advised at time of booking. For that kind of money we would’ve expected a much more memorable dining experience than the very nice but not exceptional meal we had. I’d advise others to check ahead - by 8pm on a Tuesday night there weren’t really any other options locally.
The rest of our stay was fantastic.

Beautifully located within a vineyard, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and a running water feature just outside the porch. The villa itself was spacious, comfortable, with a lovely fireplace. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms spacious with a lovely relaxing tub!. Location is a little away from Queenstown, but the benefits exceed the short drive you need to make to visit town. Some beautiful local bike tracks along the river, and through to neighbouring Arrowtown and surrounds. The staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay as memorable as it was.
That we had to leave. You will need a car to make the location work, but if you prefer nature over the hustle and bustle of town - this is definitely the place to be.

The architecture and facilities are just awesome - loved everything about the Lodge.

spacious, comfortable, luxurious and amazingly friendly staff!

Beautiful setting and well appointed rooms
The main restaurant/lounge area linked to the accommodation did not have enough staff so was not usable. Dinner was in the winery cafe - food was good but was not the same as when we stayed before. No mention of this prior to arrival, very limited menu considering we had booked for 3nights and duty manager (4th in 6months) unable to resolve problems as they were the domain of the owner who was invisible.
4.5
great although no cooked breakfast was available.

Beautiful room, very spacious with quality finishes. The cheeseboard, chutney and selection of wines in the room were a lovely touch on arrival. A delightful place to start our holiday.
The bed was a little hard and we had to request housekeeping to make up our room as it had not been done by 4pm.
3.5
Great facilities and staff, however the kitchen was closed during meal time as they can’t get chefs and staff in the area.

The staff was very friendly but it's a good half hour from Queenstown which can be a pain if you are going in and out for activities.
One day our room was not cleaned which was disappointing. It would have been nice if they had a pool on the property.

Beautiful setting and wonderful facilities available.
We were on our honeymoon, but it was clear staff were either overwhelmed or under trained.
- After opening a bottle of champagne to celebrate our marriage, I asked reception for a stopper for a bottle of champagne, and they had no idea what I was talking about. I had to walk up and describe what it was, only to find them being used in their own bar's fridge!
- I booked a hot tub but never had the chance to use it, as it was covered in yellow scum. I told reception again, only to be told afterwards "sorry, it'll be cleaned tomorrow..."
- I was charged the full $28 for breakfast, even though I only had a banana and a slice of toast
- Lastly, on the last day I booked a tasting of the wines, and was told it was at 5:30, to arrive and be told it was at 5. We were given a glass of sparkling and told we could enjoy a tasting with dinner. This was then made awkward as the staff misunderstood it as a wine matching. We were then incessantly hassled by staff throughout our dinner to understand what was going on, with the blame on us for the confusion.
- Adding to the last point, we were told there was a vegan menu available. Only to find out the were only items removed from standard menu items to cater to our needs. Nothing added.
Unfortunately our mostly beautiful honeymoon was tainted by this very unprofessional experience. Totally understand the staff shortages access the country, but this was beyond excusable. We do expect some form of reparation.

even better than the photos! such a beautiful lodge and property.
the resort was closed pretty much our entire stay which I probably should’ve researched but kind of limited our things to do

The villas were beautiful, well appointed and very comfortable.Fabulous bathroom.Great location for our bike ride into Arrowtown.Room service was good.
The staff were friendly but lacking in what you would expect from a 5 star resort..
No towels available for the hot tub even tho we had booked it,just a basket full of used towels.
Our breakfast was cold, dry and tasteless. After receiving our breakfast not one of the 4 waitress (and it wasn't busy) came back to our table at any point to ask if we needed anything else,or clear our plates, very average service on offer.
It was good that they didn't charge us for the breakfast,we appreciated that.
Im really saddened that we came away disappointed as we had been recommended to stay here, and we were so looking forward to a luxury break that we so needed.
3.5
Lovely room, great facilities such as hot tubs and Sauna. Beautiful bar area.
It's nothing too big. We stayed the night before, the night of and the night after our wedding. Although the room was lovely I had explained previous to booking that we were there for our wedding and would have a make up artists, wedding dress ect and we were allocated the furthest room from the lobby which I found just added to the stress of the day (directing people to the room, a 5 min walk when the driver arrived) When it came to personal touches there was absolutely nothing. I'm not entitled enough to have expected a free bottle of wine from a vineyard but a congratulatory note or flowers from the lobby or something/anything to mark the occasion would have been a nice touch. We booked a private meal for the wedding night which was extremely rushed but the waiter was so lovely that can be forgiven. The issue with the meal is that on the photos it shows a private dining set up in the wine cave, I enquired about this and was confirmed I can book this dinner in the wine cellar. It wasn't specified that the wine cellar is not the wine cave, and once we arrived it wasn't actually possible to dine in the cave. This was slightly disappointing.
The final issue was the house keeping. Apart from changing the linen and clearing the mugs used nothing else was really tidied or cleaned (we arrived to half a carafe of spoilt milk, we think it was left from the previous guest)

Exceptional room, friendly staff, wonderful food. Fantastic place to relax.
Nil. Absolutely loved it.

The rooms (or Suites as they call them) are fantastic. They are new, clean and spacious. Large bathroom and bedroom as well as living room with fire place. So if you are looking for a place to rest and recover from all the NZ sights, Gibbston delivers. They also provide a cinema that you can book to watch movies and relax. Plus their restaurant serves great (albeit very rich/heavy) food and fantastic wine. Awesome stay.
Nothing really stands out.

The villa itself was absolutely beautiful! It was clean, comfortable and private which is what we wanted for our honeymoon. The king size bed was so amazing and comfortable, it was perfect after a long day of exploring. It was also nice to go on the wine tour and explore the wine cave.
The food was over priced and not to the standard that you would expect. The breakfast menu was quite limited, especially if you are staying there for a few nights. We were on our honeymoon and the staff did not go out of their way to make the time special for us which was disappointing considering that it was the first place that we stayed. The staff while pleasant seem to be stressed and dismissive, seems like there was not enough staff and they were just trying to get by.
3.5
Beautiful lodge, surrounds and very clean.
For the price I would have expected more perks like free use of bikes to explore the surrounding area, along with some other inclusions (e.g. wine or snacks in villa). Honestly an underwhelming experience as all you get is the accomodation with staff not overly helpful at accomodating reasonable needs and the winery itself is lacking facilities (cheesery shut first day, second day for private event). Aside from your villa, there is a main lodge which is relatively empty and the place itself lacks excitement.
