Tbe house was great, mostly clean (there was a baby spider in one of the night lights in one of the basement bedrooms but that's kind of unavoidable in the mountains). There was a cricket or something outside/near/in the pipes (I'm not really sure where) the queen bedroom in the basement and I could barely sleep it was so loud and so frequent. When I went outside to check it out, I couldn't hear the cricket, so I don't know where it was coming from. All the other rooms were geeatand we had a blast hanging out and enjouing the amazing food in Sylva 😊

Family reunion of 11. House perfect for us. Well equipped We enjoyed playing in the river. A little road noise from across the river we did not expect but tolerable. We had some problems with the "Local VACASA Team" and were not able to use the grill. They never sent someone out to fix it like they said they would but that is not the house's or owner's fault. The house was very nice and we were glad we rented it. Thank You!.

Family gathered for a weekend stay. Perfect place. Front porch overlooking the river is where everyone wanted to be the entire stay. Plenty of bedrooms & baths. Kitchen & bar area perfect for serving meals.

An amazing place to stay. Clean, comfortable and perfect. If you are looking for a place to stay for fishing as we were this, is it. Do not look any further. Walk out the door and start fishing the Tuck right away or call a guide. Best trip in a while.

What a perfect home for a family gathering! We had 9 family members in for graduation this weekend and Tuckaway Retreat was no less than fabulous! Ready on time, sparkling clean, well-appointed, and the view...oh the view! We hope to make yearly use of this special place, it is now dear to our hearts and part of a memory we will always treasure!

Have stayed at this home multiple times and it never disappoints. Very spacious and has everything we need for family fishing vacation. Had a great long weekend and caught plenty of fish.

We had a very relaxing vacation. The home is situated in front of a large river that you can float down and fish from. The house was stocked well and was surface clean.

House was very nice and the views were amazing. The only things I would improve on: The fireplace did not work The gas grill did not work There were only 2 kitchen trash bags and with 12 people they filled up fast. I would recommend leaving a few more. Need instructions on operating TV's. Other than those things me and my family were very happy with the place.

Five stars for a great house exactly as described. Excellent furnishings and well kept. It might be helpful to others to note that this is not a secluded mountain spot--it's near town, among some other houses. Across the river is a busy road, which creates quite a bit of traffic noise on the porch and in the yard. Didn't detract from our stay, especially since we were happy to be close to town and not on an isolated mountain, but worth mentioning for others looking at this property. We would go back.

The house was beautiful and very spacious with everything we needed for a weeklong family reunion. We had ages 2 to 77 from North Carolina to Texas everyone enjoyed the space. The bedrooms were spaced nicely, and you could go to bed early or stay up late without bothering those that were sleeping. Having two kitchens (especially an extra fridge) helped keep everything cold. We really enjoyed the river front location. The porch furniture was great for gathering for evening games and my husband played his guitar for everyone. We floated in tubes from the Jackson County Greenway down to the house. The kids tied the tubes to a rope and hung out in the water at the house. Some got a guide and went trout fishing; we did the white-water rafting trip from Dillsboro River Company, we saw many waterfalls, Elk & some shopping in Cherokee and lots of brewery visits.

Tuck away Retreat was a beautiful home that was clean and very accommodating. We had 10 staying in the house, 4 kids 7-10 years old and a granny that was 95, and everyone was very comfortable. We fished and tubed the river, had multiple fires in the fire pit, made s’mores, white water rafted the Nantahala, went horseback riding,visited Cherokee, and had a nice time for a day in Dillsboro. We would definitely do it again

The home is beautiful and clean. Plenty of space to spread out and my son loved the river. Caught tons of trout but since it was delayed harvest we couldn’t keep any but still had a blast catching and releasing. It had two kitchens and a grill so dinner was not hard to do with our group. I would stay again

We are a group of 5 couples who are college buddies from over 50 years ago. Finding places with 5 bedrooms with separate bathrooms is tough but this place was ideal. Everything was neat, clean, quiet and well stocked. Everyone was well pleased!

Roomy for our family yet designed for gathering together for meals, games, outside settings, and inside settings as well. Also convenient to area recreation opportunities for fishing, kayaking, and swimming. Likely to make it an annual family trip.

Tuckaway Retreat provided a wonderful week long get a way. Our family enjoyed the cabin and the river front location. The adults were able to relax and the children enjoyed their 1st time fishing in the Tuckasegee River. We plan on returning next year!

The whole place was perfect! From the 1 year old to the 52 year old, we all loved it here. The porch, the view, the tall ceilings and beautiful tall wood doors, the wood swing, and everything you needed to stay, they had for you. And the walls were great…..can’t hear anything going on upstairs or downstairs! Definitely will be back!

We liked this house so much last summer that we returned this summer. We had better luck catching trout in the Tuckasegee River in front of the house last summer but still enjoying fishing in the river. The house has three levels with two bedrooms on each level. The two upstairs and the two main floor bedrooms are all ensuite while the two downstairs bedrooms share a hall bath. As far as beds, upstairs has 2 twins and a queen. Main floor has king master and queen. Downstairs has king and queen. There was plenty of room for four couples and adult children. We'd recommend to our friends and would come back.

We had an amazing time here. The place was awesome and had plenty of room. Being on the river was a bonus since we were able to fish right there. Very convenient location and the drive to Cherokee was easy. Wish we booked for a longer stay. We will definitely book again when we're in the area.

This was our second stay at Tuckaway Retreat. The home is gorgeous with plenty of space for six fisherman. We enjoyed use of the fire pit, large spacious kitchen and caught plenty of fish. Highly recommended!

The house was great and worked for our family (11 of us - my parents, 2 sisters and our husbands and children). We had plenty of room. We loved being right on the river - - did lots of fishing. We even set up a badminton net. Matt, with the management company was great. Our only “complaint”, and it’s slight, there was no mention in the description of a busy road (several loud work trucks) on the other side of the river.

This house fit all our needs. We loved the out of way location right on the river but it wasn’t so far out that we were isolated. We utilized all 3 floors b/c we had a large crowd. Having 2 kitchens was wonderful especially for Christmas Eve & Christmas Day dinners. The only negative things I can say is that the trash cans were already full from the previous renters (I guess trash is only picked up once a week and with our crowd there wasn’t enough space), it was advertised to have a hairdryer and it didn’t, and seeing there were 6 bathrooms most of the toilet paper was half used on the holder (I did eventually fine 2 extra but we had our own so it’s not like we ran out). All in all, I would recommend this rental.
