Great cottage with a cosy, homely feel in a fantastic location. So many walks to do in the area with stunning views.

My Glencoe trip was a bucket-list item and it proved to be wonderful. Kentra cottage is lovely - spotless, all mod cons, comfortable, spacious, very well equipped. Many thanks to Kirsty the owner. Glencoe village is quaint and of course perfectly placed for the spectacular surroundings. There are easy walks in woods and by the loch side to very difficult ones like Buachaille Etive Mor (for an older person like me!) which I did (just) - worth the effort though. All in all, a superb trip.

Carefully designed interior had great attention to detail with clever use of natural materials as art. Cute walkable small village with quickly flowing stream and forest walks nearby.

We recently spent a week in this cozy cottage right in the heart of Glencoe. The cottage was very easy to find and was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything to make out stay extremely comfortable. The welcome hamper was a very nice way to make us feel welcome when we arrived. The photos accurately depict the property.
Despite concerns expressed by an earlier reviewer, we had absolutely no issues with plentiful hot water for showers nor were there any concerns at all about electricity. All one needs to do is read the brief instructions in the binder provided for guests. Again, neither of these issues raised were of any concern at all. We experienced nothing but a warm welcome to Kentra Cottage. And Kirsty is readily available if you have any concerns at all.
We ate breakfasts and several suppers in the cottage. Everything we needed was available. There was a small grocery store about a block away and a larger Coop minutes away in Ballachulish so provisioning is easy.
Kentra Cottage is a warm, cozy home to return to after a day spent enjoying all that Glencoe and area has to offer. We have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. It is definitely a 5-star property!

This cottage is an ideal location for exploring the Glencoe area and there is so much to explore here. The area is beautiful. The cottage is located literally on the street but we were not bothered by street noise as the bedroom is to the back. Once you locate the main street of the village the cottage is very easy to find. Our navigation systems wanted to bring us in a back way that seems to no longer exist. Turn of A82 onto B863 and then almost immediately turn right onto The Carnoch. Follow the narrow street about halfway through the village and the cottage is clearly marked on the right.
The cottage was laid out nicely and there was plenty of space for the two of us. While the listing mentions the electricity limits and that you’ll get charged for exceeding the limit, in reality if you go over the limit, the directions book in the house implies YOU, the guest, wil have to go to a location and pay the difference. While it wasn’t problem for us to stay within the limit, we found the described process as not very guest-friendly. Our other concern was the fact that you couldn’t take a hot shower. While we understand the definition of hot is subjective, even with the hot water knob completely turned on, the shower wasn’t “hot”. A couple of shades better than tepid would describe the temperature with the knob on full hot.
We fully understand and support conservation efforts but the overall feeling we got here was that it seemed unwelcoming and a wee bit cold… pun intended.

The cottage suited our needs well. It’s lovely, comfortable, warm and had everything we needed to enjoy our Glencoe week. Central location for exploring in every direction and good forest walks from the cottage. It is located right in the village which means the neighbors are close and their rather untidy gardens are in full view. Owner very responsive. Would return!

This is a lovely spacious property for two located in a prime position on Glencoe High Street. The house has everything required for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Good parking for one car on site. Huge and comfortable bed etc. Wifi available but not a strong service - but not needed when you are out most of the day.

Kirsty’s lovely Kentra cottage was such a beautiful place to stay while visiting the Highlands. The place is immaculate, fully equipped, cosy and close to a variety of places to eat and drink. We also enjoyed some beautiful forest and Loch walks when we weren’t off exploring other places. We would definitely love to visit again and stay for longer next time!

Lovely stay at Kentra Cottage
Great location and well-equipped cottage in the heart of Glencoe. Great base for exploring the area and felt like a home from home. If WiFi were available in the actual property (as our signal was sometimes patchy), then this would make it a 5 star in our opinion. Good communication with host too and loved the little touches to make our stay enjoyable. Thanks!

New Year at Kentra
My partner Tom and I had a lovely experience seeing out 2019 and seeing in 2020 at Kentra Cottage. We wish we could have stayed longer as the setting was beautiful and there was so much to see and do! The facilities were very good overall, although it is a shame there was no WiFi - the listing suggested there was, hence the slight markdown. Otherwise we would love to stay there again and would recommend to others.

Perfect little cottage in the most beautiful of surroundings. So handy for nearby sightseeing, feels hidden away but with the benefit of being close to restaurants and a shop. A real home from home, immaculately presented. Would not hesitate to recommend or visit again.

Immaculate cosy wee cottage
Cannot fault this place at all!!! We wanted a few days away with our two wee dogs and spotted this little gem. Booking it and checking in was super easy. Place was immaculate. Brilliant little snug for us and the pooches. Perfectly situated for exploring local area. Local shop is a minute along the road for daily essentials, cafe/inn at end of street for the odd snack and visitor centre 5 minutes away to grab a map. The street was very busy with traffic and people but the cottage has its own drive so we were able to park the car off road and you can't hear the hubbub once inside. The hall area made it easy to dry off the dogs and cast off our muddy shoes before jumping in a hot shower n brewing a cuppa. Kitchens well equipped and instructions left on how everything works. Thought the labels on all the switches was a nice touch too. Gutted we didn't book for longer as there is soooo much to see in the area but we've already recommended this place to friends and family and are considering another visit soon. Big thumbs up from the Small Wales family! xx
