This property was a great place to stay just across the street from Lake Minnetonka. If was in immaculate condition, chocked full of supplies, and had a great location. The owner was very responsive to our requests. Our last night included a concert in the park right next door... How great is that!

Absolutely perfect. Tucked in the most charming neighborhood we've seen in quite some time - right on the lake, parks, tennis courts (check with host before coming... they have an ample sports equipment cabinet, but for example, only three tennis rackets - plan for your group). Amazing use of small square footage to create ample storage and airy, open feel. We extended a day because we loved it so much!

When we had a small issue with the heat, the issue was addressed immediately and professionally.

This is our third visit and we continue to love spending time here. The cottage is spotless and meets our needs very well. The location is great with lake views and easy walking distance to parks and town. We always try to stay here when we visit our son and grandchildren.

Three friends from grad school who had not all been together for >20 years met on the shores of Lake Minnetonka for a quiet winter (yes winter) retreat! This house was a perfectly cozy place to hang out, with beautiful areas for walking, and downtown Excelsior, with great food and shops, was 2 blocks away! It was perfect. I can imagine how great it is in the summer!

The house is very beautiful and well taken care of. It was perfect location by the lake and within walking distance to downtown. We have an amazing time!

Very nice cottage in a great location. Close to the water and an easy walk to downtown for restaurants and shopping. The bed was a little firm for us, but otherwise a great stay.

Curb appeal and inside are decorated well. Very open spaces. Entrances to the home do not feel welcoming and the glass front door has no curtain or screen.
The day of, I had asked the host if I could being an extra guest, still within the allowed total, but I never heard back from them.
There was a storm the night I stayed. The basement had gushing water, many cracks in the stairs and walls that were letting in water. There were fans going in the basement already as well as a dehumidifier down there. I later read the notes in the book said "it's an old house don't worry about a little water" but this seemed worth noting to the host. Then we went to bed and the ceiling was leaking onto the space my sister was supposed to sleep so we had to move her bed (mattress and frame). We put a container under it to catch the water and there was a stain on the carpet there indicating repeat leaks. I messaged the hosts about this as well.
The following day was my wedding. We were getting ready as a group (which they graciously approved). One of my bridesmaids used the bathroom (just pee) and the toilet flooded. The bathroom & hallway were covered in water. The water had to be turned off at the wall. We all stopped getting ready to clean it up with many towels (they did have a good supply). I messaged the host about this as well. Their response was "well that's a bummer" I asked for a partial refund for all the hassle but never heard back. lack of concern & response was worst part to me

This is our second visit and it meets our needs perfectly. We are able to host an extended family visit in the dining area. The bedroom and upstairs bath are fine for my husband and i but sofas and futons for anyone else. Geogorous location. Will try to return again. Beautiful interesting interior design.

This VRBO was excellent in every way. The property was just as pictured, and adequately stocked with everything! It’s close to town and water. We usually don’t go to the same place twice, but we will be back to this one!

We loved the house! Convenient to downtown Excelsior and all of the wedding activities we were in town for. We had notified the host that we would be arriving very late at night. The house was extremely difficult to find in the dark. And we were not told that the lock box was in the back of the house. This made checkin very difficult at midnight. The house is gorgeously furnished and well equipped but there was no welcome basket with coffee or anything to get us started on the first day. No ice made in advance. The closet upstairs had a bunch of hangers but the bar was only secured to the wall with small nails and as soon as we hung up clothes, it fell down. We repaired it. Skimpy toiletries and many of the lights are burnt out. Many electrical outlets did not work. But with a few changes this would be a 5 star accommodation. Would stay there again.

The property was as listed and pictured. The bushes could use a trim so you can see out the front, but perfect location to enjoy both the cities and the lake life. The bed was comfy and kitchen was nicely stocked with cookware. Wished we wouldve stayed longer to enjoy the small town feel of Excelsior and use the bikes, tennis rackets, and other amenities provided. Property was very dog friendly as the park is directly cross the street. Highly recommend Red Sauce Rebillion and all the little shops and boutiques on main. The Red Bench bakery was also a hit. Would love to come back on the heat of the summer and use the public beach access within 100 yrds.

The area is beautiful! The property is ok but has a really strong persistent smell coming from the basement and the large cabinet that stores activity equipment. The smell is always there. The oven only works at 350 because the other numbers do not work, and be aware the downstairs toilet will backup if you don’t hold the flusher down the entire time. Otherwise, the place is spacious and suitable.

Great location. Walk to trail, downtown, restaurants. Very clean and well maintained. Very well stocked! Only disappointment was bikes. Amenities stated that there were 2 bikes. So 2 of us did not bring our bikes. We were not able to use bikes there, seats too high, no available tools to lower them and they appeared not to have been used in long time. Other than that it was a great weekend and we would go back.

The house and location is great. Downtown Excelsior is totally walkable with many “distractions” on the way! The only downside is that the landscaping is really lacking. Getting out on the street from the shared driveway can be very hazardous with tall shrubbery blocking oncoming traffic including bikers. The shrubbery also blocks a view of the lake and the beautiful sunset. Otherwise it’s a great place to stay.

Amazing
What a wonderful stay! It was a girlfriends’ weekend and we could not have been more fulfilled. The house was fantastic and had everything we needed. We were able to walk around town and out onto the frozen lake. There were plenty of places to eat and/or pick up food to bring back to the house. Paisley Park Studios is a mere 10-15 minute drive, and a dream come true for all of us to visit (we purchased tickets in advance). We can’t thank the hosts enough!
