Great location in Hot Springs. Short walk or drive to coffee, food, Mammoth Site. Loved it!

Great place, super clean, great water pressure and you don't hear your neighbors

The manager was very nice and helpful once i finally got her attention. The problem is that we sat there for over an hour before we finally got through to her to check in because she forgot to email us a code. Still, this place is perfect for a multi night stay.

My only criticism is the stairway. It's pretty steep and can be hard to negotiate especially when first starting to descend. A better handhold at the top might help.

The apartment was great - clean and comfortable. Through no fault of the owner, it is a bit of a challenge to get to and find parking due to road construction. Access will improve when the construction is done. Also be aware that there are some steep stairs to access the apartment.

Nice little upper pad located near historic downtown. Bed was a comfy foam style matress and appliances were all in good working order. This was convenient for my weekend trip. Multiple coffee shops within a stones throw.
I visit Hot Springs several times a year and will very likely return here.
The host was super quick to respond when needed.
My only suggestion would be to bring a power strip and extension cord. Being the building is old outlets are few and far between. I had to run my CPAP across the room for power as all outlets were full by the bed.
Excellent stay!

This property is right downtown. It was quiet and convenient. The street is under construction but we had no problems getting here and parking.

We went for the waterfalls!! The room was clean and comfortable and we could see the waterfall right out our window!

My husband and I along with our 2 teenage sons stayed here one night. The apartment was clean and everything was exactly as described. The boys slept one on the futon and on on the rollaway. It was cozy, but worked out good. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable.

Lovely place! Clean and comfortable, lots of space. Nice touches like games and extra blankets. Close to the walking trail, swimming, and restaurants.

We really enjoyed this apartment. Very clean! We had a little problem with the TV I made a call to Julie and she helped us get it back up and going. One suggestion the hand rail in the stair well needs to be extended to the door. It felt a little unsafe when going down the stairs. We will stay here again when come back to town.

Great cozy place with easy access to shops and downtown.

Family of 5 trip to So Dak
It was cute and clean. Just off the river, and the kids loved Evan's plunge and the Mammoth dig site.
Kitchen was a little small for 5, but it all worked!

Maybe Better in the Summer
Cute apartment in an old historic building with true potential, just not quite there yet. Upon arrival the apartment was so cold, we had to turn on all the heat (all thermostats were off) and leave to let the apartment warm up (it was 15 degrees outside). Not exactly how we wanted to start our stay after a long drive. The apartment did warm up but needed to put towels along the base of the door in the kitchen to prevent a cold draft. Initially we had hot water in the kitchen but that went away and we only were able to get hot water out of the bathroom sink. We prefer not to drink soft water, however there wasnt an option for any filtered water and needed to buy our drinking water. This apartment is in a great location, I just think for the price some additional considerations would help.

I would recommend reaching out to the owner well in advance to ask for check-in instructions because she doesn't send them out in advance and they are not uploaded on the listing. I spent the last hour of our drive trying to get ahold of the owner so we wouldn't be locked out (Hint - if you contact VRBO they will give you the owner's phone number). After calling, leaving a VM, texting, messaging on VRBO, and contacting the VRBO helpline (who reached out to her too), we got a copy/pasted message with the door code from her. When we arrived (over an hour after check-in time) the cleaning lady was still vacuuming our unit, so I suspect they forgot we were coming in the first place. The cleaning lady was very sweet though and finished up quickly once we got there. (And, according to earlier reviews, it seems we are not the first people who have run into this situation).
Also, the shower had maybe 30 seconds of hot water per shower before it turned cold - not ideal after two long days of hiking.
Aside from those two things, the apartment was fine, nothing special. The best part was that it was located above an awesome coffee shop/breakfast place that had really good food and they were really fast. We went there all 3 days and it was great. I would say that Hot Springs overall is not the best place to base out of when visiting the Black Hills, we had to do a lot of driving. It's an hour from Custer, and almost 2 hours to get to Deadwood and Spearfish. Next time, I would stay somewhere further north, more central.
BUT - if you do stay in or near Hot Springs, make sure to make a reservation at Buffalo Dreamer for dinner. It's a tiny, fine dining restaurant with exceptional food and the staff is wonderful. Highlight of our stay.

We had a great time and enjoyed the property. Out only suggestion is to make the renters aware of the steep steps earlier on during the process. We had an 86 year old with us and fortunately she gets around real well. Could have been a challenge! Thanks again for everything!

Prior to trying to check into the apartment we messaged the owner multiple time in order to get a code or instructions on how to get into the apartment. No answer until 2 days after we checked in. Luckily and unfortunately the cleaning lady was there when we arrived around 3:15 pm. Check in time is 3:00 pm so to our surprise she was still there. She got us into the apartment and the harsh smell of chemicals used to clean was almost unbearable. The door does not have a dead bolt and the window above the main door was slightly ajar with no way to lock it, so someone could easily break into the property. The bathroom has all kinds of hard water buildup around the shower base and fixtures. The kitchen floor was absolutely disgusting as the light grey grout they used was black in color from the dirt and grime. The laundry is shared with 2 other units which was never mentioned in the property description. The only saving grace this unit had was that the bed was comfy. The couch however was so uncomfortable that I would rather have slept on the gross kitchen floor than the futon that was in there. It may have been newly remodeled but they used the cheapest possible updates that might look good in a picture but are horrible once you get there. Highly recommend nobody to stay at this place. Spend another $20 and get something nicer maybe in Rapid City. Wish I could get a refund as we left early we were so disgusted by the lack of communication and the description not being accurate.
