Small cabin. Tricky to get to. Nice view from the porch.

This cozy and quiet cabin was a great find. The host was quickly responsive with a few questions we had. The beds were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and served us well. Food Lion is 15 minutes away. Although we were out exploring the region all week, there are books, board games, puzzles, and even a yoga mat and small dumbbells. It was so quiet and peaceful. I slept great. The kids and dogs were happy and content. The packed gravel switchbacks to the property are a 10-12 degree grade and a 4x4 or a higher clearance AWD vehicle (my Subaru did great) is highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin, fully appointed. The deck has a wonderful view. Very quiet and secluded. Ceiling fan in one of the bedrooms did not work and the fan speed in the living room was not adjustable due to a broken chain.
The main issue was the hazardous of the road down to the cabins. The listing said four-wheel-drive is not necessary, but we did not find that to be the case. Luckily our jeep was capable of getting in and out.

Lovely, secluded cabin. Peace and quiet. We loved every minute of our stay. I would rent this cabin again.

It was perfect for us. The road is a little tricky but more than worth it. Secluded, quiet, and peaceful. And a short drive from amenities. Looking forward to going back and experiencing a different season.

This cabin was beautiful and secluded. We loved it and the fire pit. Getting in and out was a little scary but not too bad. They had a lot that we didn’t expect and would highly recommend! Very close to town.

This cabin was perfect! Had everything we needed and the location was perfect, a 10 min drive to downtown Blowing Rock. The bed was comfortable, the water was hot. We enjoyed the firepit, the view and so many stars. It was peaceful and secluded. Close to many restaurants. Our favorite was sitting on the back porch (which is now covered), drinking our coffee in the morning. Would def stay again!!

This was a last minute trip for us and well worth it! The location is amazing we were minutes away from Downtown Blowing Rock where you will find lots of restaurant choices and shopping. The cabin was clean and comfortable with great views! The rocking chairs were a great addition to the deck. We will definitely book again! Truly a great experience.

It was perfect trip with our family.

Just Perfect

The cabin is super cute and has GORGEOUS views of surrounding mountains. It is definitely secluded (which we wanted) so you get to enjoy the beauty in peace and quiet. It’s super close to Blowing Rock that has a lot of fun shops and good food. The only thing I would recommend is that you do have a four wheel vehicle because it is a sharp slope down to the cabin and the turns are extremely sharp. We had a truck and did fine, but I would’ve been nervous in my all wheel drive RAV4 (especially after it rained). We loved it! Would definitely come again!
4.6
The place was nice and secluded. The only hiccup was that I didnt receive a code for the key. I had to call the property phone number to have them give me an access code. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

Nice location and good view.

It was a very cute, secluded cabin that is a short drive to hiking, dining, and tourism. It was perfect for me and my spouse, and we hope to be back before too long

It was a gorgeous area and the best cabin equipped with everything you need. The beds were like floating on a cloud. Gorgeous views and the clean fresh air was heavenly.

Me and my husband booked this cabin for our 29th wedding anniversary. The cabin was clean, equipped and had a beautiful view from the back deck. It had everything we needed except a good nights rest. The master bed was horrible and the spare room bed was no better. This could’ve been an awesome stay if the beds had offered any comfort. We loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the view and using the fire pit at night. This is located close to a lot of attractions. We loved the privacy although the drive to get to the cabin was a bit scary. You will definitely need front wheel or 4 wheel to get in and out. The only complaint we had was the outdated worn out mattresses for sleeping. We would not book again for this reason but loved the area!

Great mountain getaway....
4.6
Very secluded, on the side of a mountain sort of getaway. But in order to get the “no neighbors and out of the way” sort of place, you have to navigate an incredibly steep, one lane gravel road that winds, and in the rain even a 4 wheel drive SUV gets stuck. We got unlucky with the weather and it rained the entire stay, which made the path harder to navigate.
The owners are aware of the difficulty in navigating the path- they came and graded it a bit during our stay. They live right off the path, so they are used to it. I think this is perfectly normal for those who are used to living on the side of a mountain…. You get what you get when you want to live hidden like that. Just don’t go there with a 2 wheel drive, low clearance car! Definitely a no no for winter traveling, unless you really really know what you’re doing!
The views and the firepit area is nice! Cabin is appropriately stocked. Even when it’s very sunny out the cabin is quite dark inside- it has a couple of small windows and is located in the woods.
The sofa is worn out and hard to sit comfortably on. The floor was so dirty. The chairs and table are quite worn out as well. I’m not a fan of brown towels and brown and red synthetic bed sheets- that’s all they had. Things smelled fine though!
The beds are not bad actually. Tiny bedrooms but good enough to sleep in.
They left 2 little bottles of wine for guests- a very nice touch. The owners are very nice- they kept telling us how much effort they have put into the cabin to make it better…. This place would be fantastic with new furniture and a deep clean!
The second bedroom has no A/C fyi- but it doesn’t get that hot up there anyway. I left the bedroom door open to get air circulation. You’ll need the A/C mostly to remove humidity from the cabin.
Overall it felt a bit worn out but had the right charm for a hidden getaway!
Perfect for hikers or those who don’t mind the true rustic nature of this place.

Yes the driveway to the cabin was a little scary, but we got use to it only scary because we don't live in the mountains and are not use to it. It was so beautiful and comfortable there. We enjoyed our stay that we are already wanted to come back. We usually go to the beach but this was a better experience with no people. Just my family and little dog sitting by the fire.

It was very peaceful

Everything was spot on, enjoyed our weekend getaway. Hope others enjoy it as much as we did!

As you walk in, it smells like wood, fire running and that cabin getaway vibe is on! Everything was great, they literally have everything you need in the kitchen. But make sure to take your toiletries! BUT one thing that killed my vibe was in the bedrooms! The mattress cover was disgusting, had to pile many sheets over. The sheets they provided smell very old! And quilt they had, who knows if it has even been washed, had to use the extra toddler blankets we brought. And now to the floor, the corners in the room are filled with dust and hair and old crusty spiders as if no one ever vacuums there. So… great, cute place, we enjoyed it.. almost. Just bring your own bedding and blankets and pillows or bring detergent and wash everything before using, I wish I had brought detergent with me. Overall great place!

Outdated home. Hard access to the property

This was a perfect beautiful getaway for my husband and I. The land is absolutely stunning and the cabin itself is very nice and cozy! We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back! Thank you so much to the owners we appreciate you!

Great!!!!!!!

The cabin was good for what I needed: small, quaint, quiet, and within a few miles of hiking and downtown businesses. While I ranked the above categories with four or five stars, I do feel it might be helpful to pass along some additional information:
-as previous posts have stated, the locks need changing. They are not secure; I travel frequently solo and am not easily spooked, but better locks are needed. The door to the bathroom is also broken.
-also as previous posts have stated, there are either no blinds on some of the windows or they don’t work. This is a safety issue and also impedes the view.
-the house pops and creaks a lot. I’m figuring it is because the house is adjusting to the temp changes but whatever the reason it is loud and hard to sleep through.
-water pressure was dismal at best. Now, I do realize I was traveling during winter storm Elliot and that may have been the issue. The shower was a slow trickle so I couldn’t wash my hair (I ended up going old school and washing it leaning over the bathtub). I resorted to baths which took 15-20 minutes to fill with a few inches of water. And, there was a lot of silt that deposited in the tub (I’m guessing from the was coming from a well?) I did call the point of contact on the day before I was supposed to check out just to make mention of this issue — I hadn’t wanted to disturb over the holidays or during the frigid temps.
-needs a hairdryer and step stool to reach the top shelves of cabinets.
-no fire poker for the fire pit.
-I arrived and found that the beds were not made (I know I’m sounding high maintenance, but…)
The owners provided great communication prior to my stay — even calling the day of check-in. For those who have complained about the road: the owners did a great job providing advice on the condition of the road, switchbacks, and recommendations for having a 4-wheel drive. It’s the mountains, people.
I doubt I will return, but it was a good stay and fun to see snow over the holiday.

The cabin was perfect for our weekend away. It was clean and tidy; plenty of sources for activities available in the area. Would recommend the cabin to anyone wanting a quiet weekend away.

Pro: comfy & cozy & clean cabin.
Cons: * gravel windy road to the cabin needs work.
*Remove the large stones from the immediate edge side, no need that I can see for other than an obstruction. This road needs to be black topped! Spend the money, it will be worth it in the long run. I own a brand new Ram pickup truck.....I was spinning gravel trying to get back up the gravel road, Can't imagine if it rains!
*Cabin itself once you get down the bumpy gravel road, was very clean, comfortable & cozy. A few things need attention...
**the door to the deck should have a dead bolt as in the front door.
**The blinds on that door are totally broke and worthless.
**The main door has NO BLINDS. Come on...invest in your property for the RENTERS PRIVACY.
**BOTH DOOR LOCKS ARE OLD AND SHOULD BE UPDATED TO FIRM HANDLES & LOCKS. Although they were loose and overused ....;they worked ...they need replaced and updated.
**The range/stove area needs its own light above the range burners to help visualize while cooking food on the surface.
**The tub surface needs to have a non-slip tape/mat installed to keep a guest from slipping & falling in the slippery tub while showering.
**Please clean your windows for each guest(s) that stay at this cabin. If your inside the cabin ... if it's ABOUT THE VIEWS FOR YOUR GUESTS....then make sure THEY ARE CLEANED before each stay.
** THE WINDOW AC SIDE PANELS NEED UPDATED. Could slide my hand to the outside. the accordian panels need to be replaced and secured in place.
**Both AC's need L-brackets supports underneath them. Could be why the side panels are failing.
** Toilet works.....but older guests would benefit from an elongated seat type , as well as, comfort height. Far too low for most guests standards.

Beautiful Stay in Blowing Rock
We enjoyed a beautiful 3 day weekend in this "cabin". It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. They have Adirondack chairs on the patio to enjoy small fires and rocking chairs on the deck to enjoy the Mountain View. Perfect for us as we attended the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. We had our two labs with us and they enjoyed the beautiful dog friendly trails in Blowing Rock., Owners were great!
