lovely surroundings and clean and tidy
The location made it difficult to get a taxi into town

really quirky place , an old farm house in the middle of nowhere but within 5 minutes drive of Woolacombe. beautiful garden and grounds. the pool games room and bird sanctuary with emus and peacocks were really good on site facilities. Traditional devon farm house style decor but very clean and extremely comfy bed. The stay exceeded our expectations and we were really glad we went for this hotel.
the decorating and bathroom could do with a slight refresh but it really wasn’t a major issue.
3.4
The onsite animals, views and breakfast room. Decor of rooms was also lovely despite the level of cleanliness.
Most rooms had cobwebs and spiders including bathrooms and housekeeping missed cleaning several rooms of people in our group for the next day. Housekeeping needs to improve drastically.
3.4
Beautiful location,Amazing views, close to all main places like Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Lynmouth etc.
Games room, swimming pool gym… facilities were awesome.. we just needed couple of days more to enjoy the property fully.
We didn’t have any negative things to point out really.

All great...just felt the place a little tired , but we had a lovely stay
Needs updating and refreshing .

We loved this manor the staff were so friendly and kind . Like stepping back in time great history to the place too. The collection of rescued bird life was a treat to behold from peacocks emus turkey and many more. If u want modern then this is not for u and because of its location your own transport is a must if u want to venture further afield and recommended as local transport can be expensive. Transport especially needed as there is no meals in the evening and getting food in from takeaways almost impossible as too far. But we managed and had no regrets . The pool was a bonus. LOVED IT
My only qualm was no evening meals . Maybe a small supermarket or tuck shop on site could be an asset for guests and self caterers Also the long country lane is quite far from the main road so if u need buses not ideal for those with walking difficulties . But loved it anyway.

good location, bed comfortable, clean, good breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff
it would need some updating

The games room and swimming pool
The sauna and men's changing room shower didn't work. The access road to the hotel was extremely narrow is one car width for 2 way traffic.
Room being decommissioned whilst we stayed elsewhere for 3 nights due to change of our circumstances even though we hadn't checked out. No apology was forthcoming and we were met with a view that it was our fault.

Location was lovely and pool was very good. Breakfast was ok - a few problems with the condiments. Staff were always helpful and chatty and any problems were quickly addressed.
Room was quite small and cramped which was a bit of a problem over our 3 day stay
3.4
No breakfast was available.
Very expensive for a basin room with no breakfast

Beware - This hotel may once have been good, it is no longer.
We left 3 days early, and have never done that anywhere else in 40 years of business and private travelling. Advertised as a relaxing stay in the countryside at a 3-star hotel with all facilities including an "acclaimed" restaurant, the restaurant was not functioning when we arrived. The breakfast was inedible, so even though they belatedly offered to cook something for us for dinner on subsequent days - provided it was pre-ordered - we opted not to risk it. The result was having to travel several miles for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a very busy holiday season.

The grounds of the hotel and the room were nice. The location is good if you want to visit Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Croyde. It's not too far from Lynton and Clovelly either.
The room wasn't properly clean plus nobody cleaned the room in 5 days that I's there. The hotel is in need of restauration/refurbishment.The restaurant had to be closed as the head chef resigned so breakfast and afternoon tea had to be ordered at least 1 day in advance. Breakfast £12 far too expensive for what it was. On a Thursday I tried to request afternoon tea for Friday afternoon, but I was told that the next availability was Monday! The use of sauna was at extra cost and is was operated but coins. I didn't use the pool as I was put off by poor cleanliness of my room. The hotel isn't in the village, it's at least 2 miles away and on a very narrow lane with no pavement. If there's a proper footpath I wasn't aware of it so for everything I had to drive in and out of the hotel.

The grounds were lovely. Lots of green space and very peaceful - apart from the Cockerell early in the morning! Plenty of birds (chickens, turkeys, peacocks and emus) to see which was a good addition.
The room was extremely damp. The carpet was tired and filthy. Cobwebs everywhere. No housekeeping at all. Just felt very unloved.

Fantastic staff! Pool was nice and quiet. Beautiful surroundings.
Rooms and facilities were fairly dated but useable and comfortable.
3.4
The grounds and facilities were excellent. The room was not sufficient for two people to be at ease. The breakfast was good but an additional £12 per meal. No other meals were available through the restaurant, as it was closed, so we ate off site. The location in North Devon worked well for us.
The room was smaller than expected, it was rather cramped with baggage and two people carrying out showering, changing and only had one chair, although tea/coffee making facilities were available.

Breakfast was excellent, hosts lovely and location great.
lovely pool too.
3.4
Good location although it is down a very very narrow lane.
Tired decor and unwelcoming staff. Door locked to swimming pool during opening times. I was told several times by staff that I hadn't ordered breakfast when I most definitely had the evening before when checking in.
It is not a country house hotel and certainly not great value for money.

Stunning location and so much character at this beautiful Manor, would recommend to anyone!

Room was not cleaned properly tea and coffee not stocked up. Bin in toilet had not been emptied hairs on the floor of toilet. Not happy paying £150 for a room then having to pay £12 person for breakfast. With all the Covid going around the room should have been spotless. It wasn't

Loved the pool. Pleasant peaceful surroundings and easy parking
Limited breakfast. Yoghurts were on menu but none as apparently often had to be thrown away!

Beautiful settings. Hosts are lovely and friendly. Food excellent.
We felt our room was too small. Maybe breakfast should be included in the price.

A lovely location
Bed very uncomfortable . Mattress had springs sticking through and was not changed for over a week even after complaining several times.
Tennis court and games room needing attention. Grass and weeds growing through the hard court and cloth ripped on pool table. Table tennis table broken

Fabulous venue with nice amenities.
Breakfast was good
Disappointed that the restaurant and bar weren't available during our stay - as had hoped to enjoy the rest but had to go out for meals.
Would have been nice to enjoy relaxing on site after a long drive to get there.
The hotel seemed to advertise that the restaurant and bar would be available- which was an attraction.
Bedroom was rather cramped with the bed pushed up against the window- ok but not ideal.
