The historic Butler Cabin and its sister cabins are situated perfectly, directly across from the Dripping Springs Visitors Center and Historical Society at the end of a very neat neighborhood on South Mercer Street. The best thing about our cabin, however, was that the Dripping Springs for which the town is named are located behind it in a secluded, wooded area. Despite the summer heat, my wife and I would spend hours just meditating by the springs and taking in nature. Between that and the special amenities provided by the property owners (fresh-baked bread waiting on our arrival), we couldn't have asked for a better stay! The owners were also very communicative and helpful, assisting us in getting rid of a hornets nest and when we got locked out of the cabin (totally my fault). Our stay here was actually the best part of our Austin trip, and we look forward to returning to our little nature getaway.

The cabin was clean, convenient, and comfortable with a great history. I really enjoyed the breakfast bread and other breakfast items provided. It’s located on a busy street, but still pretty quiet. I would stay there again when in Dripping Springs!

Loved our stay in the Butler Cabin. Great location, within walking distance of ‘downtown’ Dripping Springs.
Enjoyed reading about the history of the cabin and town. The cabin and furnishings were fresh and clean. We appreciated your hospitality and hope to stay in one of your cabins on our next trip to Dripping Springs.

Stayed four days/three nights. Location of cabin on Main Street-walking distance to shops/bars. Cabin had one large room w/bed and sitting area to eat. Kitchen was fully functional -didn’t have an oven but microwave. Owners baked homemade bread (2loaves) for us when we arrived. Dropped off more bread on our third day. Full size bathroom- had soaps/shampoo if needed. Perfect for a couple or individual.

Weekend trip. Walkable shopping, restaurant, coffee/bakery shop, and lots of bars. Noisy Saturday night, live music somewhere that we could hear until at least 1130. We stayed up watching movie, so not a big deal. Highway is close so you'll be glad to have the white noise machine if you go to bed early. Great location if you're going out at night. Cute cabin with continental breakfast. Loved sitting outside under the oak tree and reading.

We had an amazing time at the Butlers Cabin. It was great place to spend a few nights together. There is a coffe shop and store within walking distance. I love the chairs and swing in the back, very peaceful. I recommend completely.

Because of the possibility of flooding, I called and found extremely nice people that gave us options. We stuck to our original plan and had a wonderful time. The homemade breads were delicious. The grounds gorgeous and able to get down to the actual Dripping Springs. So nice to walk to any place in town from our wonderful Butler Cabin. Bed, bathroom, table and sitting on the front porch were all very comfortable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

It is certainly a unique property but is quiet and comfortable with everything in good working condition. Checkin can't be beat. The wi-fi was a bit iffy but we found a local TV channel we could watch that worked reliably. It's a good stay for a couple of nights.

We had a high school reunion, and we stayed downtown Dripping Springs. We were able to walk to everything on Mercer. The cabin is adorable. The host left baked goods, and the interior was cozy and comfortable. The host quickly responded. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

Came to Austin for a wedding - thought staying outside of Austin would be a fun change of pace only to realize this rental property sits right off a busy highway which was a bummer.
Overall, the historically restored cabin is exactly that : no frills, just a space to lay your head. The backyard is beautiful with the swing from the tree and the birds and the bugs chirping along and just really a nice environment. Personally speaking regarding the cabin I just did not enjoy it. I need sunshine, natural light, and the cabin lacking windows just did not feel good for me (again, this is specific, the cabin is fine generically). One point that could absolutely be shared transparently is that the bed is kind of horrible. Even just a better mattress/pillow situation would have made that stay a bit more positive....

Great stay! Breakfast breads were delicious and we enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evenings. The Bed was not the most comfortable as we are used to a firmer mattress but overall, this was a great property.

Adorable cabin
Beautiful quiet property. Cabin was wonderfully cool when we checked in in the heat of a Texas summer day. Walked a block up the street to a great intimate cocktail bar, had a drink walked the short Main Street looking at the historic plaques. Great location, clean, cool and so quiet- perfected weekend getaway and the best banana bread for breakfast. We will be back

Perfect stay for our anniversary
We stayed in Butler cabin for our 20th anniversary. Charlie and Sherry were great hosts, we couldn't have asked for more. They had everything we could possibly need, recommendations, games, coffee, even delicious homemade pumpkin bread! The cabin itself is adorable and the property has so much history. I really enjoyed being able to walk down to see the spring. The town of dripping springs was so inviting, we can not wait to come back and stay a little longer.
