Nothing to not like, other than the hill. Lol.

Beautiful, well equipped and comfortable. The host was so welcoming and had wonderful breakfast items for
us as well as Prosecco and snacks upon arrival. The garage was very convenient and the view was perfect. Everything was as described!! I loved the third bathroom - it was like a spa and the host had robes for all of us. Would highly recommend and will hopefully come back a again!!

Everything was amazing, it was one of the highlights of our Europe trip. The facilities are on par if not better than a five star hotel. So much attention to detail. The location is great with breath taking views. Lucilla goes above and beyond to make us feel at home. We would love to come back.

Villa Mares was definitely more than what we expected. Although the drive up was rather narrow, the views from the villa was amazing.
We were greeted by the very friendly host, Lucilla, who welcomed us and gave us a tour of the estate. In addition, she welcomed us with some piping hot bread/pizza when we arrived.
We loved the pleasant colour scheme of the rooms and the villa was fully furnished with practically everything. There are 2 bedrooms and 3 toilets/baths and very nicely designed. What we were impressed with was how every room had separate air conditioning and heaters too (very important especially since we went there in spring and it was cold). The mattress and pillows were so good, we had one of the best sleep in Italy in Villa Mares.
We have to say that everything was very well-thought and designed and would highly recommend to book this place in Rapallo. Plus, it is only a 20 minutes drive to Portofino.
not much. only the narrow drive up to the place

Amazing place with an icredible view. The owner of the villa is extremely polite and welcoming! The room was cosy, clean and stylish. And not to forget about the breakfast which was full of delicious goods and freshly brewed coffee. Definetely a must in Rapallo!

We had a perfect stay at Villa Mares. It is a beautiful villa located above Rapallo with a lush green garden perfect for sitting outside and drink good Italian wine. Our room was really nice decorated and equipped with everything you need and the cherry on the top was our outstanding bathroom. Lucilla is an amazing host with all her nice tips for places to visit not only in Rapallo/ forget Portofino, Camogli was highlit of our trip/. We also loved breakfast served on the upper terrace with a stunnig sea view. We would definitely reccomend this place to anyone. Daniela and Pavol G.

It was an amazing stay , the host made us feel home
She’s very considerate of all details
Breakfast was a big selection and tasty

Just be aware that it’s not on the Main Street
You will have to climb a bit to reach either by walking or have tiny car not big one to avoid struggle

A beautiful place to stay! A gorgeous room in perfect surroundings with a stunning view over the harbour. The little garden terrace was perfect for night time drinks. The owner is a real gem, catering for all our needs with a big smile. This place was a highlight of our trip!

Lucilla has been an amazing host, her breakfast must be recorded as one of the best of the region.
Great hospitality, great view, amazing apartment!
The location of the apartment is not for everyone. We loved walking down to the village, but it’s tricky and moving the car is not an option.

That we only stayed 1 night.

Perfect spot! A short walk up the hills from the city center. So quiet and relaxing. Beautiful views from the garden. Breakfast was fantastic – so many choices. We felt really spoiled. Would definitely come back!

Breakfast was extraordinary! Cooked in the morning and a lot to chose from. Parking in a private garage was possible which is great.
The private outdoor facilities like hammock and dining area are amazing. The room we stayed in was rather large and so was the bath.
Very nicely decorated, too.

This was one of the best hotels i’ve been too.
Very cute and pittoresque. It is in the colors of Rapallo and Portofino.
It was very beautiful!
No one bad thing to say. Forreal, not one.

One word “awesome.” Villa Mares is thee best B&B I have ever stayed at. Our room was elegantly furnished, large and extremely comfortable and impeccably clean. Villa Mares is located on a hill. The view from all three Villa Mares rooms have the same view which look out over a well manicured garden with sweeping views of the bay. You can lay on one of the several hammocks for hours and read, nap or just take in the spectacular view.
Breakfast was a treat every morning. Start off with coffee and smoothie, then many different smaller portions of different items and before you know it, your very full. Each day (we stayed three nights) we had a much different breakfast. Great variety of food.
Not Easy to find but worth it once you are there.

Nice view to the city. Close to the center. Location is clean and meticulously supervised. Good internet.
We travel a lot and usually we strive not to leave bad or mediocre feedback, however this case is special and we think that giving below information will save many people from disappointment through having more realistic expectations.
- Very narrow and steep street - certain challenge by car and an effort on foot.
- The smaller (there is one larger for several cars and a smaller one for one car, which is not shown in pictures on booking) garage is a true stress to park and certainty to a car damage (happened).
- Little privacy if at least two rooms are occupied (can hear through the walls) and in the small garden it is too little space to feel private.
- There is no air conditioning as advertised (only heating). We were lucky that temperatures was less than 27C during our stay.
- No due ventilation - you have to have door open.
- Rooms are smaller than advertised (toilet area is probably counted-in) and two smaller rooms are really too small to stay more than a single night. Room pictures on Booking.com seem much bigger as they are made with wide lenses and give a false impression. For example the room which is advertised as 22m2 is in reality appeared somewhere 16,5m2.
- That picture which show a big pink bath isn't in the rented rooms (probably the owners one, which is not on offer now)
- The balcony in the picture is where the breakfast is served (you wouldn't normally stay there only for breakfast).
- Breakfast is very basic - just served with bels and whistles. Cakes served are very dry and far from tasty.
Despite lots of demonstrative courtesy, we felt more as business mean rather than cherished guests. The way owner of this property communicates and how seemingly well property looks/is advertised, most likely makes guests hard to leave mediocre feedback. But ... essentially this property is an overdecorated, overpriced Bed&Breakfast which we felt lured into by false advertising and which we were happy to end our stay in, and forget ...

Villa Mares exceeded our expectations and was excellent value for money. The property is located above Rapallo in a quiet area with a beautiful view across the water to the town within a lovely well-furnished garden setting. The property is a five minute walk into the town and sea front. Our room was larger than expected, well furnished, good linen, comfortable bed, clean and bright. We received many extras - welcome drinks, fruit bowl, sweets and offered ice-creams. We had a secure car park beneath the property. Breakfast was served on a beautiful terrace accessed via a staircase from the garden. We were offered an excellent choice including fresh orange juice, yoghurts, cereals, fresh fruit salad, pistachio junket (? delicious) bread rolls, croissants, chocolate cake/tart, quiche and various beverages. The staff are friendly, helpful and discrete. One of our best stays in Italy.

Absolutely stunning property with beautiful rooms overlooking the bay in Rapallo. Enormous bathroom, again- stunning! Our room was completely outfitted in sea foam green and coral pinks with a giant sunken hot tub in the bathroom and two showers. (It was so big we almost thought it was to be shared!) The breakfast was superb, with more homemade fresh foods, pastries, coffees, and juices than well could eat, served on a private terrace overlooking the water. The host was so welcoming and kind even though her English is limited. Could not recommend more. Guests should expect to walk to and from town in Rapallo unless they love winding drives and re-parking in a tight garage, and it is a steep uphill climb, so they should be prepared and in shape! If you plan to do any Cinque Terre hiking this hill will be par for the course and manageable, and this is a great jumping off point for exploring the area. Rapallo is almost better than any surrounding towns as it is such a sweet town with gorgeous views of the bay and really nice restaurants that are very affordable. The train is really easy to access for a quick ride to Genoa, the Cinque Terre, and everything else in the area. We loved this place so much!
If anything, my only two critiques are that parking was a little challenging (we parked in the property’s garage, which is small with limited space) and the drive up to the property is also a little difficult as we didn’t know where to stop or how to reach the host. But again, we loved our stay, and these are not really the fault of the host!

The Villa is very pretty, with cute decor and beautiful views.
Breakfast was delicious, the amount of food was incredible and left us with full belly’s for the whole day.
