Facilities, cleanliness, food, staff.

The location!! Everything is so beautiful and peaceful.
It is not possible to close the window in the shower, but only with a curtain..
Gives a feeling of discomfort when you are in the shower..

The location- mountains all around, traditional Norwegian cabins, calmness, nature. Breakfast hall with candles. Huge store behind the hotel, built by the mountain is additional bonus.

Clean, good location, restaurant is open till 9pm.
Extra bed was not comfortable to sleep in, squeaky mattress, I was waiting for morning to come sooner, just to get up already.

For being a somewhat random roadside stop in the mountains, this was a very nice place! The renovation of the buildings fairly recently is surprisingly high quality. We had a very substantial (and tasty) dinner in the evening before heading off on a hike in the surrounding mountains. The hike was stunning! The breakfast buffet in the morning was expansive and delicious. The beds were very comfortable with 100% cotton linens and (maybe?) real feather duvets. The family room was set up with two double bed alcoves which were cozy and a nice unique touch. Everything was very clean. We would recommend it as a comfortable place to stay in the area.
The family room could have had a small couch or upholstered chairs. The gift shop is rather bizarre!

Great atmosphere surrounded by nature.
Great location to visit plenty of nearby points, and famous Pulpit rock and Kjerag hiking
Great breakfast, nice staff
Rooms are a bit basic, but well equipped and maintained
Location is a bit isolated, besides one supermarket in a 5 minutes drive distance, not much shops in the area

Pictures online did not give justice on how pretty the place is. It’s clean and very quiet! Breakfast was well served and staff are very helpful!!

Hotel is on the road so to say so it's easy to find & right what you need on a road trip. The place is sweet with grass on top of the houses & goats. The breakfast was nice and served in a restaurant full of history & old stuff.
We arrived pretty late and were supposed to pick up the key from the keybox. However when we came, there was no key. Thank God we had skype to call the owner & he came back in 10 minutes and opened a different box which had a key to another room. However he acted like it was us to blame. Also he said that his assistant sent us another msg with another code to the keybox which never happened. He left like in 2 seconds after giving us the key and we had to look for the room and try to find the correct door to open. Not the service one expects.

This was the second time my family and I stayed at Byrkjedalstunet Hotell. We knew what to expect. It is 30m minutes drive from Sirdal Ski Resort. It has a calm and bucolic atmosphere, surrounded by the mountains. The restaurant and bakery are very famous in the are as well as the Norwegian goods store, attached to the hotel. People travell from Stavanger to shopping there or to eat. During the breakfast the chef gave a piece of chocolate cake for my daughter, that usually is not available for guests but can be buy when the restaurant is open.
The beds were uncomfortable. This was the second time we stay there and in the first time they gave us a big room, this time we stayed in a small room that it is ok for 2 persons, but not for a family of four.

Very nice place to stay, locality was very good for around hiking. There was also a charger for car, so that is a huge plus. The breakfast was also very yummy and big range of food.
The restaurant closed at 7 p.m so that was not very good for us when we came back from hike in the evening.

The place was nice for a short stay. Close to the location you do have lot of hike to do.
The location is great and peaceful.
Not convenient for diner cause it close very early. That's pity cause the restaurant seems very good.

Quaint and a good get away from the corporate grind.
Location is a bit out of the way as you need a car to get there.

Very cute, old world Norway 🇳🇴 😍 dairy farm converted into a comfortable hotel complex.
There are not many other choices around here but this place is worth the stop. The buildings are remarkable and the souvenir/candle store is amazing 👏 . The restaurant served up a quality dinner very quickly and the breakfast buffet was outstanding with all you can ask for. 😋
Our room was very very comfortable and warm with heated floors in the bathroom. We even had goats and a small stream, right outside our bathroom.
Highly recommended 👌
Everything was great 👍 👌 😌

Nice and clean room in a good shape, beautiful surroundings and quite friendly staff.
The food is extremely expensive for what you get. The staff is friendly but passive and no one seems to care about your visit. They don't offer information about what you can do in the area, e.g. hiking routes, sights etc.

The hotel is outstanding. You have the feeling of sleeping in the traditional Norwegian house.
The bathroom has great interior and room is clean.
The restaurant offers delicious traditional Norwegian food.
Plus, they have cute goats 🙂
The location is bit in the middle of nowhere so make sure you have all the amenities you need.

Thé hotel is beautiful and in a beautiful landscape .Unfortunately when I arrived at 23.45 ,in spite of informing about my late arrival night duty was not at the reception and did not answer at phone call.!I have been waiting for two hours! At 1.45 a girl arrived but couldn’t hear me because she was listening to music with headphones ! she gave me the key and didn’t even said SORRY.
Night duty must be improved .

Cozy, clean and ideally located if you hike Kjerag.
Nothing. it’s a nice place and we’ll run.

The staff was very friendly and took the time to explain the history of the property to us (an old goat cheese factory), showing us around the space and pointing out photos and artefacts. The food tasted great and the location and view of the mountains from the room was wonderful.

Great place to stay on the way to Odda. Great
breakfast!
The rooms (20, 21) are close to the road. If you are
used to living in a quite neighborhood, it can be
a problem.
