Mooie kamer , proper , prachtig zwembad , goed ontbijt , zeer goed restaurant (Whinch)

Everything, location, room, terrace, ensuite, facilities, friendly staff, dog friendly also we arrived before midday just to say we were going to park up and go and explore until check in but we’re told our rooms were ready, great service.
restaurant staff were great, very friendly especially our waitress who spoke very good English and was really sweet, (Saturday night 8th July, English family with 2 vegans) but only negative was no prices on the menu and not much choice either but they accommodated our vegan daughters very well.

Location was great. Room was comfortable and clean.
Air-conditioning was fab, efficient and quiet.
The little grocery was closed as was the restaurant a few evenings. We had not been told that tjere was a wedding being held or that there would be a 2 day conference.
Most of the staff were lovely, especially Emma. However, one receptionist was particularly unpleasant and did not want to help us woth the bike hire. I pointed out that we were within the Time limit to rent bikes and although she did rent the bikes to us, it was done with bad grace and a bad attitude. I won't name her here but will contact the hotel privately to raise the issue directly.

On arrival my husband became unwell and we were very kindly given one of their suites to help make our stay easier. Staff could not have been more accommodating and understanding. It was greatly appreciated.
Location from restaurants ( apart from their own restaurant) and shops required you to drive to reach these services

great room and facilities/estate
some noisy mass briefings outside our window

The room was a reasonable standard with nice terrace, and the pool was nice.
This sold itself as a hotel complex which it certainly was not. We decided to pay a bit extra because we it was described as a dedicated hotel with restaurant. The reality was quite different. There were some hotel rooms in 2 blocks in the middle of a large holiday complex incorporating mobile homes, camp pitches and motorhomes and all facilities were shared with them. Some of the mobile homes looked very shabby and dingy. Consequently the charge was excessive. The restaurant was extremely poor when we tried on the first night. 2 choices of starter, 2 of main, and ONLY ONE desert. If you don't like coffee flavour bad luck. No printed menus or board so no chance to consider what to eat from the minimal choice which you need in a foreign language, cafe like surroundings. We complained to the staff who fundamentally agreed that it wasn't good enough. Professional French restaurauteurs would have been ashamed of the standards displayed. Of the 2 starters my wife had a good plateful of prawns and whelks, where as my choice turned out to be a few slices of tomato and cheese in oil. The quantity, value and quality between the 2 were simply not comparable. I knew what I was ordering, but would expect far more for the price, particularly when seeing my wife's far superior portion. Reception not slick. Our receptionist took a phone call whilst dealing with us even though there were 2 other unoccupied staff members standing there, and there seems to be no intent to deal with guests straight away. If there is a single member tied up with a customer, they don't rush out of the office to deal with other customers requiring assistance.

lovely room. bit out of way but with car or bike no issue
could do with some covered bike storage- loads of hire bikes left outside but as cycle tourist on expensive bike a covered and secure storage option would be nice.
3.5
good croissants from the shop.
Not much information available in other languages would have been good to have an information sheet in English .
3.5
Hotel room was really well designed. V comfortable bed, excellent lighting and storage. Towel dryer v convenient as cool night weather does not dry beach towels for next day.
Safe was broken and unavailable. Staff were often unfriendly and long queues at reception area for any queries. Very limited restaurant availability - booking is necessary. No other restaurants within walking distance so car was necessary.

The room was well designed, clean and
modern. the staff kind and helpful and it’s in
a good location.
there isa major issue with this hotel that is
not made clear on the Bookings.com site.
The hotel is basically located in the middle
of a large ‘camping’ hosting dozens of
small chalets and mobile homes.
Consequently the facilities are shared
meaning an extremely crowded swimming pool
and over booked restaurant serving
moderate food.
This contrasts highly with the romantic
image on the site of a young couple bathing in a
beautiful pool. Noisy camper style animations
punctuate the evenings and the constant traffic of young children
hurtling everywhere on bicycles provides a
constant threat to the poor unsuspecting
pedestrian.
Our ‘patio’ was far from being private, it
resembled a cattle padlock at the
crossroads between the parking lot and
reception, the furnishings consisted of
a solitary pair of chairs and not table.
The safe in the room was locked and had to
be replaced (not being fixed in anyway

I like a hotel room with beautiful amenities for me to release the sunburned skin, moreover having enough space to stay alone was excellent for me to be relaxed. And I also prefer the breakfast buffet.
I was a bit disappointed that we needed to book for dinner due to not having enough chef numbers to serve the number of guests. I requested confirmation of my lost property possibility check at the hotel, but I have never received a reply.
3.0
grounds and gardens were kept nicely
reception staff tried very hard
entertainment was good
1. could take food and drink to the pool
2. not enough sun beds at the pool
3. restaurant staff very disorganised
4. snack bar staff poor
5. shop not a big enough variety of foods
4.5
Breakfast was good although it was a little expensive. The hotel is situated in a camping site and as a result there are various activities that take place but this did not disturb us during our stay.
Difficult question as we were not very demanding.
4.5
good location, beautiful beach, friendly accommodating staff excellent food.
pool was busy at times
3.5
The hotel room (44) was excellent. Clean, spacious and well equipped. Great bathroom and balcony too.
The pool was great with lots of different depths and a water slide, but the pool area was a bit dirty with cracked and loose tiles. Definitely needs a spruce up. The restaurant was poor both in terms of choice of food and the service was very slow with several dishes we’d ordered not arriving. The bar ran out of Aperol and gin.
2.5
Hotel facilities were good clean and modern
Service in restaurant was hit and miss.
Nice students working there but understaffed and no senior person in charge to give direction.
Designated person to serve drinks coffee etc at bar seperate to restaurant.
Shop onsite very poor offering with little refrigeration for produce.
No real interest it seems.
Pool changing area a bit smelly.
Reception staff had very little english and not very friendly in particular a girl called lola.
Nowhere to store bags if you have to check out and have an afternoon flight.
Most unhelpful.
Hospitality?

The family hotel room is of good size and in excellent condition, with a spatious balcony. The swimming pools are nice, and the restaurant had a limited, but excellent menu. There is also a pizzeria, a kid club, and some fun entertainment for the kids in the evening (in French, but our Dutch son of six also enjoyed it). It was an easy (10-15 minutes) ride away of the gorgious towns of Saint Martin de Ré and La Flotte, and the big lighthouse in the far west of the island is about 35 minutes away. We did everything by car, but you can also rent bikes at the hotel reception.
It was a 6 minutes drive away of the Gros Joncs beach, which is the nearest guarded spot near La Rochelle for good wave surfing (in particular for beginners and intermediates). It also has a wave surf school with renting possibilities, two other schools for wind (and perhaps kite) surfing and sailing, a Spa, and some restaurants.
I do think it was too pricy (240 p.n.), but we booked very late, and the whole of Ile de Ré seems rather expensive for acommodation in high season. You certainly do get an excellent room and a nice hotel for your money.
Also regretfully the Les Grenettes beach (which is in easy walking distance) is not really developed (at least it didnt seem to be in the evening, when we were there), and you couldnt rent a surf board there (even though it had great waves, but it might be rocky). Nevertheless, probably it's also nice there during day time.

Room, good size, modern and clean.
The hotel is a camping as well and facilities are shared with the camping. Therefore swimming pool over full and no space, restaurant really poor and bar only 2 tables.
4.5
Excellent safe covid environment. Additional cleaning of room mid stay. Excellent cleaning staff. Lovely room.
Problems resolving safe in room. Reception response variable. Shop stock a little low.
5.0
Convenient. Close to sea.
4.0
Great as a base for exploring the Ile de re, as it has easy and secure parking and good facilities. We had our own bikes but you can hire them on site for exploring the area .
Beach access good but it rocky ( not the hotels fault) and not great for bathing .
