very beautiful hotel, beautiful room, beautiful view, very comfortable!

There was a giant cockroach in our room which ruined our night.

friendly reception and staff - lovely courtyard
bathrooms small because it is historic building
4.5
We loved the room, the patio with a view of the harbor, the breakfast and the staff.
I would've loved an outlet on my side of the bed to charge my phone.

the staff, the location, and the courtyard garden were all great
the bathroom was small

The character of the building is quite nice, and the walled in yard has plenty of sitting space. The staff are very nice and accommodating.
There aren't a lot of outlets in the room we had so if you need to charge stuff (and who doesn't these days) you will have to do some unplugging. Also the shower in our room was very small, with no where to go the shower curtain would always gravitate and stick to me during my shower. Also breakfast is a bit basic - eggs and toast, tea and coffee. Certainly not something to fill up on.

the location was good
the size of the bathroom was ridiculous! there was 17 inches from the edge of the sink to the wall! which meant it was IMPOSSIBLE to put a towel around you after the shower and IMPOSSIBLE to dry yourself in such a confined space, very embarrassing when you have to dry yourself in the bedroom in front of your 20 and 21 year old kids and vica versa! the toilet was so close to the wall that you couldn’t sit on it properly as your knees touch the wall immediately in front of you. the shower was hand held not even mounted on the wall. there was no where in the shower to put your shampoo, shower gel etc they hadn’t provided any sort of shelving although this wasn’t a huge problem as we used the top of the toilet cistern as the toilet was almost in the shower!!! This is certainly not what I expect after having paid more than 200 euros a night! The bathroom itself has been made from taking part of the bedroom and in a room of that size they could have afforded much more space so that the bathroom was actually usable!! If you are any larger than a size 12 forget it!! When I complained to booking.com the hotels reply was that we should have mentioned it whilst there! Really? what they’d never noticed how ridiculously small their bathroom was and to be quite honest what was the point as the hotel was full and what were they going to do in all seriousness? rebuild the bathroom for us!
The hotel also described the room as having a seating area, 2 old chairs that had seen better days pushed under an old small table which the TV sat on is not my idea of a seating area! This was one of the very reasons I had booked this hotel as it sounded perfect for my son to sit in comfort and complete some coursework, however, if he would have wanted to do it in the ‘seating area’ he would have had to remove the TV and also been very uncomfortable on the said chairs!
The breakfast! another huge disappointment , the laziest thrown together breakfast I have ever seen!

superb location, beautiful hotel

Beautiful and brightly-lit rooms in an authentic old mansion close to the harbor. I especially loved all the various nooks where one could sit and read by a window or simply relax. I had to take a long conference call, so I set myself up downstairs out of everyone's way, and one of the staff kindly brought me juice and water, unprompted. Breakfast was excellent: french press coffee, juice, bread, homemade preserves, eggs, fruit, and yogurt.
This is going to be true of many places in Hydra - we were woken up by church bells chiming every hour from about 7am onward. No sleeping in!

The host Maria is as good as it ever gets..wonderful garden and very homely feel

Very comfortable accommodation in a lovely garden setting. Easily accessible from ferry port. Loved the antique furniture and decorated ceiling in the room. Very relaxing and stylish hotel.
Nothing. We forgot to inform the hotel that we did not need help getting our luggage to the hotel so there was a misunderstanding there but the hotel manager sorted it out in an amicable way.

Excellent property, close to the centre. Housed in a Vintage setting giving a very serene feel. Amazing hosts, especially Maria, who were very accommodative of our requests. Topped it up with the excellent breakfast. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Hydra

Maria the receptionist was amazing, superfriendly helpful and made aure all our needs where met. The garden was a beautiful and didn't feel like a hotel garden but the feel of a typical Greek home garden. Breakfast again tasty, simple and most of the products where homemade. Our room had a balcony wh8ch was fantastic with beautiful views of the sea the night sky and the city of Hydra. My son and I had a wonderful time.
Nothing really.

Location and styling
4.5
The hotel was in an excellent location very close to the port but protected from late night noise. The staff, particularly Giorgos and Miranda, were very kind, welcoming, and friendly. The room was very clean with a beautiful high ceiling. We asked for twin beds and although they had already made the bed, they prepared that for us. We received helpful guidance with tips for beaches and places to see and eat. The breakfast was served in the beautiful courtyard and it was really a highlight. They also accommodate our late departure needs after check-out, which was really helpful. We overall thoroughly enjoyed our time in Hotel Miranda. We highly recommend it. It really felt like proper holidays.

The location and the house are fantastic. The garden really nice
There were some things that did not work in the room but the staff tried to sort it out. There was limited choice for breakfast and it was every day exactly the same but the quality was good
