The breakfast was exceptional and the staff was very attentive.
Unfortunately, you have no control over the insects on the beach. But the beach was beautiful.

Good breakfast with a variety of choices, friendly staff. Great location!
It was our decision to travel during a low/off tourist season however, the value for price did not meet our expectations. Oceanfront room was def not worth the price plus additional VERY high "taxes and fees". Very basic/standard room. Landscaping off balcony seemed neglected. All water activities were suspended during our stay and other land activities were an additional charge. Shortened restaurant hours limited food options.

It is beautifully maintained. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful.
Some cleaning details in the room have been overlooked. Would not call it a dislike. I pulled out the nightstand to plug in a charger and it was quite dusty and dirty.

I appreciated the views of the water from my room. I also enjoyed the live music at dinner.
The breakfast was below average for a buffet line. Additionally, it wasn't ready on the line when breakfast was scheduled to start and did not all come out by the time I was done eating what I selected based on what was presented. Conflicting information about the need for reservations for dinner. Documentation stated reservations were recommended, however, the bar-server said they were required. Even with the reservation "made" and being the only person in the restaurant, I wasn't seated at my reservation time.

Breakfast buffet was superb, daily! Great way to start every day.
More music at the beach in conjunction with the Mermaid beach side bar.

it was beautiful!

The rooms in the main house, the view, the property. Food and beverage manager and one waiter were attentive. On-property transportation was great, especially drivers. Golf course was good, despite dry conditions and consistent winds.
Many of the staff need basic service training. Food and beverage usually took 30 or more minutes to arrive and there was almost no followup. The GM seemed lost and not in control. Usually tough to get a cocktail. Food was 5-star price and 3-star quality.

Breakfast was very good
There was a plumbing issue in our room. The water was coming up from the bathtub and toilet.
The place smell really bad and it took some time for the staff to move us to another room
Then we got a new room and we felt we were downgraded, since the room didn't have the big mirror and we were far away from the amenities and the beach.

The resort and location is breath taking!!! The staff are all so friendly and accomadating!! They make you feel like family from the start. The resort is perfectly located, not too far from town, yet far enough. There is so much to do right there you don't even have to leave. It is literally heaven on earth. We didn't want to leave!!!
If I had to say anything bad, is that for the price it would have been nice to have at least a microwave in the room. A small W/D would have been amazing with a 1 week stay and 4 kids.

We loved the ambiance of the resort and the ability to relax. The added bonus is that this place is in paradise. The staff was more than hospitable and friendly.
We have zero complaints other than it would be nice for the resort to be all inclusive.

beach location and amenities, Mermaid restaurant and bar service, space between rooms and buildings gave a feeling of privacy, wonderful staff!
nothing! excellent

The location was beautiful, private and quiet. It was our first trip without our deceased son. We honored his birthday while in St. Croix. The staff and accommodations at The Buccaneer were amazing.
I didn’t like that we had to go home and couldn’t stay longer.

Beautiful beach front however being on a tropical island I would expect to see lush gardens everywhere for that is typical on every other tropical resort that I had visited in the past. Here there was plenty of weeds and the grass on the property was brown from lack of water.
The back door of my room had to be forced open and the molding broke. The staff promptly fixed it.

The beaches are gorgeous, the grotto pool is very nice. The food was decent and the staff was fairly friendly. it wasn’t overcrowded either.
They were under staffed so things like food/drinks took longer than usual and some locations (Grotto) weren’t open at all. We were also given the wrong category of room.

The location was great.
The food was good, but way over priced.
The facilities were all closed up, like the place is going out of business.

beautiful location. comfortable accommodations.
Only one of their restaurants was open. They clearly did not have a handle on dinner service at all. when a reservation was made at times they took as long as an hour beyond the scheduled time to seat you. Food was very expensive. I don’t mind paying as long as the service and food quality match the price. It did not. The complimentary breakfast buffet was fair. However with only one restaurant available on-site with very high prices and a major ordeal to be seated we felt a bit of food insecurity as the property is a car ride to any other alternatives offsite. Highly recommend renting a car if you stay here. Other then that it is truly spectacular.

beautiful spot, views; always love the breakfast on the terrace
for the price, needs to be better groomed - grass in better shape, neater, construction materials better hidden

The staff was wonderful and the grounds of the resort were beautiful. The proximity to downtown Christiansted was also very nice.
Kayaks and SUPs were unavailable for use for the entirety of our stay due to swells on the far side of the island. Breakfast is included but the tip is not, so it ended up being more expensive to dine in than go into town. The second evening of the Taste of St Croix occurred on site during our stay but this was not advertised in any way to guests. Reserved a king room but received a bedroom with two queen beds.

The rooms were clean. The beach was beautiful. The much needed rest and relaxation.
The staff was not friendly. Seemed always bothered when providing services. $60 a night in government taxes and another $50 for energy use… Pretty absurd. The complimentary breakfast was valued at $35 a person so for two people it was $70. Breakfast was a buffet so you get your own food. Server brings coffee and you’re expected to tip 20% of $70 ($14) for their server bringing coffee and drinks. Overall, not nice people.

Beautiful property, and really nice private beach.
Also, all the staff were incredibly friendly.
1. The hotel did not have many activities that children could enjoy without being accompanied by adults, which was a disappointment.
2. On many occasions, we wanted some food or drink while at the beach, but were told that we had to go up to the Terrace because the beach bar and the Mermaid were not serving during those afternoon hours. Similarly, we often wanted to get a drink up at the lobby area (around the Terrace), but were told that we would have to go all the way down to the Mermaid, even for something simple like a cup of coffee or a glass of soda. This was very irritating, when paying for a hotel at this price point. I would have expected for a 4-star hotel at this price point to be have both bars (the beachside bar, as well as the lobby bar) open and serving minimal snack food and drinks from 10am -midnight 7 days per week. But apparently they only open "one" of those bars at a time, and that was a real nuisance.

The location, Mermaid beach, the food was good, the ambience, the golf, the pool.
Beauregard Bay -entrance to the water was dangerous. The spa was closed and we were not informed of it. We left early on the last day and breakfast was supposed to be open at 7am and was not.

Breakfast ok.
More variety
