We booked this property in Fordingbridge since it was a reasonably short drive from Southampton (prior to our cruise). The plan was to spend 3 days in SW England (Bath, Stonehenge, etc.) and take in the charm of a small village. The property is lovely, however it is without air conditioning (A/C) and proper ventilation and during a summer heat wave, quite miserable. The owner did her best to provide fans, however despite her best attempts - it was still very hot in the house and impossible to sleep at night. As an American, I guess we are used to A/C and the heat wave made the stay quite unpleasant. The village is quite charming and the parking situation was easy to figure out. The front door to the property is on a very busy street there were some "close calls" with trucks and lorries on certain days.

Great central location. Hosts provided excellent communication and property was very clean, well presented and a great combination of old, quirky and modern. Stairs to top floor make it unsuitable for anyone who would struggle with stairs. We would definitely stay again. Go to The George, terrific pub by the river and less than 100 yards away; recommend booking at weekends.

We had a lovely weekend staying here, the property was very clean and equipped. Janis the owner was quick at answering any questions. We did have a little trouble finding it but was quite fun, it’s above the Chiropractor.

Property was very clean and well equipped with good local info, we experienced some minor hiccups due to not being able to get on line for entry into the property, and the stairs gave us a work out because of our age. Overall great stay and thank you

Comfy beds, very clean, well equipped on a busy road but didn’t bother us. Excellent they provide a parking permit for the car park just behind the house. Janis was lovely to deal with super helpful.

Lovely short stay in Fordingbridge
Lovely short stay in Fordingbridge
We spent a lovely long weekend in the New Forest, staying at Golden Key Lodge, which is a quirky building with a very rustic and "cottage like" feel. It is well decorated and clean with double glazing to keep the noise from the street out. All facilities were above standard with lovely powerful showers, easily adjustable heating and everything we could have wanted to hand. I would come again, and I would recommend to friends. Rachel

Really easy to rent and communication was very good. Finding the property was a little trickier but we came in the dark so that’s why it was slightly more difficult. A superb stay and would highly recommend!
