Our home is spacious and luxurious and a relaxed place to hang out. Built in 2002 with a 2023 renovation & addition, everything is new but feels like a classic Maine lake house with wood paneled walls and ceilings, a stone chimney, but all the modern conveniences. Green Lake is 8 miles long with plenty of space for boating and the Northeast cove is quieter & less windy and a great secluded spot to explore the islands, swim and kayak, and watch the loons, herons, eagles and beavers. Pick blueberries off the bushes all along our shore. Eat lunch on the porch right outside the kitchen/living area of out on the 60' long dock while soaking up the sun and the views. You enjoy a 180 degree view of the water from the house; it sits on it's own private promontory with over 550' of lake frontage, private dock, and swim dock. A canoe, 6 kayaks, and 2 stand up paddle boards are available for use. If you need a break from the lake their is plenty of mountain biking and hiking in the area.
The House: Open living area includes modern kitchen, dining table for up to 10, and living area with two couches, coffee tables and a TV. The kitchen is spacious with a big island, great views of the water, and fully equipped with lots of dishes and cookware, induction cooktop, wall oven, dishwasher, microwave, large frig/freezer and 2nd freezer in garage for extra food. We were able to entertain a our family and friends at Green Lake. We were pleasantly surprised with the updates and are looking forward to upcoming changes. The house was perfect for different groups of people, some talking, some by the water, some on the porch, but everyone was able to enjoy meals together! The boats allowed our group to form a small armada. Doug was wonderful with our questions and the house is a terrific distance from Acadia.

This beautiful home locates you in the green, mossy world of the Maine woods. Late in the season, the absolute quiet was broken only by loon song. Inside, an incredibly well-furnished, comfortable living space; outside a large lake to explore in kayaks or canoe (all provided) and lots of possible hikes nearby. To top it all off, this is a pet-friendly rental! Our week was fun and healing!

The lake was absolutely gorgeous and the house was the perfect size for our group. We loved the spacious kitchen and living room and my dog absolutely loved the yard. Great location! Less than an hour to Bar Harbor and Acadia but still wonderfully remote.

Absolutely perfect. Nothing about this place could have been better. The house is gorgeous and contained everything we needed. The location was perfect. We never heard another human- only the loons on the lake. The host was wonderful- very responsive to anything we needed. If I could give this 10 stars, I would!

My fiance and I and my family all stayed in this cabin and loved it! As a group we were 4 adults and 2 teens and had plenty of space. The main purpose of our trip was to visit Acadia which was about an hour drive from the property but that gave us enough time to wake up on the way there and relax on the way back.
The property itself is beautiful and the lake was great. Too cold for swimming but perfect for kayaking which we did almost everyday. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a lakeside getaway especially if interested in also visiting Acadia.

Such a wonderful house and property! So cozy and right on the lake. We just wish it could have been a little warmer to enjoy the lake more! It felt like we were in our own home. We’ve never stayed at a house so well equipped! Thank you so much for allowing pets! Our dogs felt right at home too!

Tucked away in the woods outside of Ellesworth, Maine is the most amazing home. We were so lucky to have stumbled upon this beautiful lakefront property. The pictures do not do it justice. What a great family getaway!

The lake house was amazing, it had everything we needed for four days of relaxation. I can't thank the Sacra's enough for sharing your home with us.
The the location is far enough away from civilization but close enough when we needed it.
The lake is beautiful and so peaceful.
Sitting on the dock listening to the call of the Loons was by far my favorite thing.
Those of you who've been here know what I'm saying. Those looking for peace and quiet look no further.
As for us, we'll be back for more heaven on Green Lake..

Very nice home with an outstanding location on Green Lake. The house was very clean and organized, it had anything you might need for cooking and cleaning, and with cable and WiFi, it was just enough to be "connected" only when you want to be. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone! The only caution is to be careful driving down some of the dirt roads to get to the camp. They are maintained but in any low-riding car, you'll want to drive very slowly. However, with a little bit of rough terrain, we decided to spend more time at the home and really enjoyed how relaxing and accommodating it was! So if you rent here, take your time, slow down, and definitely read the guest book - some talented illustrators left well-developed documentation of their stay and it was a blast to read through!

This is a beautiful home on a crystal clear lake in a very private setting!
This home truly has everything for a relaxing and fun vacation in an absolutely beautiful location. Our family of seven spent a week here with our two dogs. The house was fully stocked, both inside and out and was spacious and easily accommodated all of us.
As soon as we arrived, we headed to the water to take full advantage of all the lake had to offer. It is rare to find a home with enough watercraft to accommodate all of us- but this one did! We kayaked daily as we enjoyed the abundant wildlife around the lake. We watched an eagle soar over the water looking for dinner and we saw the herons come and go a few times. The loons and families of ducks were always present and did not seem to mind our heads bobbing in the water as they swam right past us. That was a great experience! The frogs and turtles were numerous along the rocky areas. We are a group of swimmers and were delighted with the crystal clear water. Some of us swam over to the islands alongside the kayaks and picked blueberries- which we then put in our pancakes and we even made a Bundt cake with them. The entry to the water is clear and level and the dogs were having a blast right alongside of us.
Our nights started off with a fire in the fire pit along the water’s edge as we watched the moon rise right over the lake. Once back inside- some of our group headed to the ping pong table for their ongoing tournament while the rest of us picked out the nights board games. The table easily accommodated all 7 of us while we gamed into the early morning hours.
Our mornings- when we did not sleep in- started with a coffee and a sunrise that was beautiful from both the dock and beach area.
We enjoyed our meals on the deck while watching a large variety of birds flying among the trees. The small red squirrels were also very busy running around collecting food and chatting to us. Along the road we even saw porcupines. There was wildlife everywhere.
One day we rented a pontoon boat right at Jenkins Marina- right on the lake - and we had a great time exploring the rest of lake that was out of our personal kayak range.
It was about an hour’s ride to Bar Harbor and we headed there early one morning – we wanted to be sure we had enough time left to swim and kayak when we got back home!
We really enjoyed our time at the house- it was private, peaceful and perfect!
Thank you so much for sharing your home!!

My wife and I booked this Vacation home for US and our Daughter and her husband to enjoy Maine. We have stayed at different camp sites and hotels in the area and let me tell you none of them compare to how great this location is. The place was PERFECT all we had to bring was clothing, food and beverage. The location wasn't to far from Bar Harbor or Acadia National Park. It was very quite and the views were unbelievable. Loved listening to the loons in the morning(no not my wife). It is truly very hard to describe how nice this place was. We already booked it again for this year if that tells you anything.

We loved this cabin on beautiful Green Lake. Owners are very generous in providing a canoe and kayaks, wonderful amenities inside and out including an attached garage for us to park in. We liked the many day trips during the day but it was great coming home to this house and even with the rainy day we had (5.5 inches) there were lots of movies to watch and pingpong and other games to play, the ground didn't get flooded at all. It was just the two of us but this would be a great place for a family vacation. We cleaned the cabin ourselves so didn't pay a cleaning fee, all the supplies were easily accessible. Our security deposit was refunded to us in less than a week, the owners were great to deal with, no problems with communication. We went in the off season and it sure was a great deal after comparing to several other similar properties.

This is a fantastic house. The view of the lake from 3 sides is amazing. We saw great wildlife activity including beautiful loon calls and bald eagle activity. The armada of kayaks and the canoe that come with the house provided hours of enjoyment. The firepit was outstanding. Close enough to the lake, yet still sheltered from the coast. As others have said, the water quality is pristine and we were able to catch some great fish. The house was clean and spacious, and the kitchen was well stocked. The crock pot is a nice touch that allowed us to spend more time outside. Overall we found few negatives to this great house. The internet was pretty slow. Then we figured out that was a nice incentive to focus on the outdoors instead of trying to get remote work done. If a nice loon filled lake view is important to you, then this is your place. Thanks again to the Sacra's for sharing this beautiful house.

This house was more than my husband and I ever thought we could afford for a vacation. We chose to go just before the peak season to get a lower weekly rate and the Sacras' home on Green Lake was truly an amazing deal compared with the camps and cottages we found for similar rates. The location was convenient to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park but the house, the yard, the amenities and the lake were so perfect for our fishing vacation that we never ended up going to any of them. We were content just staying at the house with the fire pit, dock, kayaks, cool breezes and absolute privacy. We did make it out to Bangkok Restaurant to get Thai food for lunch one day but it was not the authentic style of Thai that we are used to having though it works if you've got a craving. At first I was surprised that there were no blinds/curtains in the house but after a day or two I could see why... there was truly no need for them. We were in such a quiet and secluded area that the big open windows and views became a welcome distraction and our dog really enjoyed having the freedom to run around the yard off leash. My husband especially loved fishing from the dock every day. We ended up catching enough good sized white perch to have 2 beer battered fish dinners and they were delicious! One thing that was noteworthy was the absolute clarity of Green Lake. The fish we caught were all the most beautiful, healthy colors we'd ever seen and the water was crystal clear. The house had all the comforts of home (and then some). We had a great time using the ping pong table and the garage was great for unloading groceries and packing/unpacking. Everything was well maintained. The grill was a bit older so we ended up buying a grill lighter to get all the burners lit but it cooked up steaks just fine! The owner, Doug, was very nice and made our rental effortless. We are already thinking about trying to rent this property again for 2 weeks in the next couple of years. My only suggestion would be for future renters to make sure they are comfortable driving on narrow dirt roads. The house is situated within a private association with dirt roads that are well maintained but sometimes narrow and/or steep. I would have preferred a vehicle with 4 wheel drive but my Hyundai Elantra made the trip just fine, even in the rain when we were leaving. I would definitely recommend this spot to family and friends and in fact we already have!

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay here in mid-September. The house itself was great - we had plenty of room for two couples, an infant, and two dogs. The layout was nice and open and the kitchen was fully stocked - we got plenty of use out of the crock pot while out on the lake fishing and the grill in the evenings as well. We enjoyed using the provided canoe and kayaks out on the water as well as the outdoor chairs for lounging on the dock and around the firepit. Fishing, particularly for smallmouth, was good - we caught a few above 3lbs and one over 5lbs all in Northeast Cove. All in all we had a great time and would recommend this rental to anyone looking for a house on a lake with all the extras of home.

This house looked brand new. Lots of wood gave it a warm, comfortable feeling and it has many unexpected, welcome details. We were two adults and two teens so there was more room than we needed. The kids loved the raft and we all enjoyed the kayaks and paddled about the lake and around the islands. There is also a canoe. The fire pit was great at night and for some reason there were no bugs. The property is private and the lake had very little going on when we were there (we only saw two boats with motors). There are not many houses visible on the shoreline, giving it an away-from-it-all feel. There's a deck out the back and also a porch on the side.
There are plenty of games and books for a rainy day and the garage is a nice feature for unloading the car at night or in the rain.
