The beds were super comfortable with superior bedding and pillows.

Wonderful location with panoramic views of the town and nearby mountains. The horses were a bonus! Gorgeous comfy beds. And two out of three in our party enjoyed the quirky decor!
The bathroom off the second bedroom needed maintenance.

Very cozy, with and amazing view over the valley and Franschhoek. Very clean, with all amenities needed for a comfortable stay.

The light in the bathroom did not work.
We had to pay for the wood we used. After paying R3k for a single night.

I loved the stylish décor and it felt very homely. Unfortunately only there for one night and whether did not permit us to use the jacuzzi. Very private and would love to return in summer and stay for a longer period.
Not applicable. Loved everything.

The condition of cutlery was poor and bathroom was not to my liking
Not enough bathroom ammenities were provided
Not enough towels were provided.
Gas finished and we were waited for hours for a refill and it never arrived.
They provided us with wood but failed to mention that we need to pay for the wood.
The fire place didn’t even heatup the the lounge area
It was a cold visit and we did not enjoy our stay at all

Location was excellent. Staff were lovely we got shown around the horse stables and it was lovely to see the horses and they were also able to assist with firewood. Bottle of wine complimentary was also a nice touch. The views were beautiful overlooking Franschoek and the valley from where we stayed in the Pinotage cottage. Sonja was able to assist with accommodating more people and a pet which was great. Beds were comfortable.
I just really felt we didn't get value for money. The cottage was quite cold during the period we stayed (even with the fire stove lighting the bedrooms were still cold); outdated; the back door wouldn't shut properly; it was very small for two couples sharing; no separated toilets by doors in the bedrooms and no electricity/solar during Eskom Blackouts. It was off-peak season when we stayed and just felt that whilst the location was great the accommodation itself unfortunately was a bit disappointing for the amount we paid.

Loved the location, we are horsie people so went directly to your beautiful barn and had a quick chat to your horses and stable manager. Absolutely loved Scotts cottage, so nicely and appropriately decorated.
We all struggled a bit with the lighting in the evening and in the morning. Dark ceilings with no downlighters made it a little dim at night.

The road is bad!!

Lovely location close to the heart of Franschoek. Nice cottage, comfortable, clean, with a cosy wood-burning fireplace which was perfect for a cold, stormy evening. Very peaceful and secure. A helpful and friendly host who assisted with a suitable solution to an unpleasant maintenance issue. Load-shedding light bulbs, emergency torches, candles and a gas stove made load-shedding a non-issue
1. Problem with bad smell in bedroom. Thought to be a small dead animal. Later discovered to be coming from the shower drain which appears to have had a plumbing fault resulting in the sewer smell in the main bedroom
2. Bad crack in glass roof enclosure section of dining area. Resulted in very bad leak during heavy rain that evening which filled a 15 litre dustbin and caused minor flooding in the area below
3. Lamps that didn't work (at least two; one in lounge and one in main bedroom) and at least two very skew lampshades which had detached from their bases.
4. No anti-mosquito devices/sprays to keep the mosquitoes away whilst sleeping. This is essential for a good summer night's sleep

the view is superb.
The complementary wine was most welcome.
A generator (which ran all but one night) ensures minimal loadshedding interruptions
Access to walk around freely and visit the horses was most welcome
Jonathan came to speak to us about the horses and other options available to us. he was a pleasure and very kind towards us and the kids.
When we arrived we struggled to locate the 2 cottages we had booked. We found the first, however the other was placed slightly off the road behind another cottage. Finally a fellow guest informed us of the additional cottage.
The cottages are rustically designed which gives character, however it does mean that some of the furniture is 'old' and sometimes fragile so there is a need to be extra careful
Loadshedding meant the freezer was frozen solid
Our kids excitedly headed off to the swimming pool however did not enter it was not very clean which was bit disapponting.

Gorgeous situation and views, walks a dog friendly.

Tranquil and secluded location with exceptional views of the valley and surrounding mountains. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped for self catering, with a great BBQ and outdoor fire pit, log burning hot tub and open fireplace in the lounge. The outdoor sitting area is spacious and enjoyable to take in the views, see the horses in the paddock and watch the sunset. Conveniently located to Franschhoek for the amenities and great restaurants. Did enjoy the excellent rose from the vineyard too.

Jonathan was a star. Very friendly.
Views and horses were awesome.
Close to all the wine farms and restaurants was an added bonus.
Outside braai very exposed to wind. Would be easy to close.

The location was safe enough for the place to be unlocked. It was in a gated community, so safety was amazing.
The one bedroom's bathroom was off the kitchen and you had to walk through the bathroom to get to the bedroom. If memory serves correctly there was no door on that bathroom, between the bedroom and bathroom.
