The Battlefield tour information was so well balanced, emotive & respectful to both sides. All round a great experience. Lovely to learn about all the outreach programs, exciting plans & events for the future.

Beautiful cottage to stay in. The staff were really friendly and helpful. At dinner, all the guests sat round the table together. It was quite a trek to get there, over rough tracks, but it was different.
I thought that the price of the tour to Rorke's Drift was a bit expensive, especially when you are a local.

Such a fabulous place.
We stayed in Umzinyathi Farmhouse which was perfect for the 6 of us and an absolutely fantastic 1920's house with views over Islandwana. We had coffee in the morning and in the evening a glass of wine overlooking the stunning views. The beds and pillows were comfortable ensuring a good nights sleep. In the morning we went down to the main lodge for a healthy, hearty breakfast. All staff were friendly and professional and took the bother to remember our names.
We took the Islandwana and Rorkes Drift tour which were led by knowledgeable guides, one Zulu guide had a grandfather and greatgrandfather who took part in the Battle which gave the tour an extra special connection. The food for lunch and dinner was fresh and tasty and we all came away relaxed and far more knowledgeable. Will visit again in a heartbeat as I am sure there are even more tales to be told and this time we will stay longer 2 nights makes you want more. Thank you Nicky, Doug and the Fugitives Drift Team.
Nothing its all fantastic.

Staff were excellent and very accommodating. They went out of there way to get to know us and made sure we had what we needed. Beautiful part of the country with such expert knowledge.
The bill at the end but it was totally worth it!

We loved staying here. The Fugitives Drift Grave walk was intimate and magical. Isandlwana was a sobering and moving experience. Such a vast open landscape. Rourke's drift was inspirational. The design, interior and exterior of the lodge and cottage are gorgeous and fit sensitively within the environment. It all feels very secure and well thought through. Lovely warm staff. Nothing too much trouble. We felt very welcome.
We listened to the David Rattray audio books first and then to see it all in reality and hear the individual stories was so special.
I got a little confused about the payment process through the African Safari Collective but the staff at Fugitive's Drift sorted it out whilst we were there.

The entire facility was well presented, comfortable, and very attractive. |Staff were fantastic. The battlefield tours were amazing. Venue and history, combined with good old-fashioned customer care and hospitality, make for an outstanding stay!
The roads we had to drive on to get there! AVOID Tugela Ferry!!

The staff were friendly and the facilities were very nice. The food was very high quality and the tours that they offered of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift were well done, balanced, and informative. We brought our two children and lodge staff were extremely accomodating. Everyone had a fantastic time. We honestly hated to leave.
It exceeded expectations in all aspects.

We were made to feel really welcome by Douglas, Grace and all the staff. The room was lovely and the trip to Rorke's Drift was very special and Douglas brought history to life. Food was amazing too. To top it all, seeing the giraffes on the way to the gate was wonderful.
Be sure to hire an SUV or jeep as this place is quite remote and the roads are pretty bad.

Everything was perfect.
Nothing wrong, although would have liked to have bikes for hire and a swimming pool.

The room we were given was to die for!
The views were spectacular. The staff ( every single one ) were all friendly and great to chat to.
We booked our stay based off the Battlefield tours they offered ( and the pics online ) and we would do it all over again.
The dining was top class and the 3 pm tea was a special treat.
They have an amazing library which you could spend hours upon hours in and the swimming pool is beautiful.
This is a special place which one needs to visit!
The Battlefield tours are incredibly captivating and a must for everyone!
We will definitely be back!!
If we had to find any fault....wooded walkways to some rooms can be a bit slippery when rainy ( depending what shoes you are wearing )...but with a little bit of caution you will be ok!
