Valentines night away

The breakfast was lovely, plenty to choose from whether you wanted a fry up or some cereal. Good location with parking free after 6pm until 8am, a 2 min walk away from your accommodation. Room was ideal size, bed was comfy it was warm and also had essentials, ie hangers, iron. And hairdryer. Tea a coffee facilities too with a spacious bathroom.

Only thing I could write really is how thin the walls and floors are, and the front door is loud when the doors closes. Other than that I was very happy with my stay

Friendly town for people & their mutts, interesting historic place, excellent shopping and eating.

Everything is home cooked to order & all requests even off menu are done without any argument. It's all about visitor comfort & the lady who does the cooking is excellent. It's all fresh bar the tomatoes which are tinned & quality fresh home made with lots of cereal, fruit, juices etc choices . You really couldn't get better anywhere so I rate it any easy 11 / 10. Lashings of hot drinks anytime with ample supplies in the rooms. I'd run out as I arrived late & needed a brew & when I asked for more supplies was given.enough to.last the whole of my stay. They even provided me with a brew to take on the train journey homewith no extra charge. All my bags were carried upstairs on arrival then back down & loaded into a taxi I'd booked to return to the station. If you like a drink the bars as friendly as you'd find anywhere. I was shown a brand of cider I've not tried before & it was so good I'm now going to have to try to find it locally!! As a lone traveller I was shown nothing but kindness throughout my stay & will have no hesitation in returning to the Windmill B&B or recommending it to friends.

Room was small/dusty and shower screen broken

Virtually in the centre of town and good overnight parking in public car park 3 minutes walk away. Bed linen and towels nice and clean.

Room in need of tlc.Shower screen broken/shower head loose and fell off. Numerous cobwebs on walls.

Terrible experience and unlikely to return.Will share with all my friends.

breakfast was good and service good

Being woken up by someone shouting and swearing and trying to kick in a bedroom door downstairs from me..Police were involved. No member of staff came to check on my safety,incident made it impossible to get any sleep and I should have been offered a refund.Pub extremely busy and noisy.

Ok, but a little steep at £70 for one person.

Efficient booking in.

After taking a while to warm up, the shower was either hot or hot, with no apparent means of adjustment. Both standard lamps were unplugged when I arrived, with no apparent sockets to plug them into. It was only in the morning that I chanced to find them at high level behind the curtain. The TV was at a rather uncomfortable angle to watch and the remote was a tad dodgy.

Fantastic anniversary trip

Very comfortable and heating on when we arrived so our Room was toasty. Staff very accommodating and we got an early check in. Nothing too much trouble and we would definitely stay again 😄

Ideal place to break a long journey.

Great location, just off the main thoroughfare, public carpark very convenient across the road. The room was small but very clean and comfortable, with all that we needed for an overnight stay.

We expected a working shower, won't be staying here again.

The location was good. The breakfast was very slow to arrive due to the venue being full with a large group of men, between 15 and 20 of them and staff didn't seem able to cope. When breakfast arrived they had not got the order correct so items were missing.

The shower didn't work. Hot water only came out in a trickle. When mentioned to staff we were told "that's the way it is". The sink was so small you couldn't fit both hands in it so couldn't use the sink for a proper wash either. The room was cheap at £70 but we expected working basic facilities.

Lovely pub accommodation, friendly staff and great value food.

Fabulous central location. Room was a good size. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great.

No on-site parking. However there is a large car park a 1 minute walk away with reasonable prices (free from 6pm on Saturday and all day Sunday). Was quite loud on Saturday night due to it being a popular and busy pub. But we expected it and wasn’t a problem for us.

The breakfast was good, and certainly met my expectations. I understood from the website that car parking was available. It was true that there was a council paying car park conveniently close, but it added £10 to the price of the overnight stay.

Information about car parking could have been clearer - see above The room was too small to accommodate chairs, which was no doubt fair enough at the price, but was a bit of a disappointment.

The bar was relaxing and calm. The room was a good size.

The bed was a standard double but there was plenty of space to make it bigger, but that is purely a personal choice and no criticism of the place. The bed was also very soft.

Don't stay in room 8

The pub and breakfast was lovely ,we must have been given the worse room number 8 Carpet was very dirty ,view out the window was a huge car blocking the window and their rubbish Bedding was far too small for the bed and was very uncomfortable too many mattress toppers that were not attached so loads of lumps and ripples Got burnt whilst using the sink the hot water pipes on the cold pipe Rooms next to a pizza shop and they woke us up speaking outside our window Comings and goings in the night high heels on the stairs and sex all night till early hours Loss of power for hours Not the best place to stay

The control of temperature on the shower. The size of the basin made washing oneself, and shaving, difficult especially as I could not get the shower cool enough!

speedy check in, friendly staff. room was small but still ideal, only for an overnight stay, no problems on the room. freshly cooked breakfast was lovely. great choice of beers in pub. excellent location and close too other pubs and restauants
