Excellent hosts, charming cottage and tasty breakfast

The hosts were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful, the breakfast was without fault, very tasty and varied. The room was very comfortable and the property had character, its location suited us very well.

Brilliant, memorable and hard to beat.

fantastic visit we will return.

it’s a delightful property owned and run by lovely people. Mandi greeted us warmly, nothing was too much trouble and breakfast could not be faulted. She gave us suggestions of excellent local attractions.

we loved it all. the thick thatch roof protected us from the blistering heat and our room was comfortable.

Wonderful!

Lovely breakfast with fresh fruit salad and fried with good quality ingredients and beautifully cooked. Very welcoming hosts and friendly puppy! Beautiful 17th century thatched cottage in village just outside Chichester.

Warm welcome, perfect hosts, delicious breakfast

Mandie and David are perfect hosts, they made us feel really welcome. Very attentive, they even surprised us with a rose and a personal note for our wedding anniversary. Highly appreciated!

Perfect accommodation with lovely hosts

We had the Goodwood Suite which was wonderful. It had a really nice little sitting area. The bed was ever so comfortable with beautiful good quality bedding . The shower was a double purpose one with a hand shower and also a big overhead one and really powerful. Lots of plug sockets and one near a mirror which was a bonus .

Although the hosts were always there to let us in each time it would have been useful to be given a front door key .

Perfection in Boxgrove

Just returned from a two night stay in Nightingale Cottage - a beautiful home restored to an immaculate degree. We were welcomed by Mandie who showed us to our Lovely Goodwood Suite - returning a few minutes later with tea and cake !! Breakfast was delicious one of the best if not the best we’ve ever had . Mandie and David were so open and friendly ready to offer their local knowledge of places to visit . We hope to return very soon.

Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Cottage itself was beautiful and immaculately clean. Good location. Breakfast was great too.

The shower had been broken by previous guests and temp couldn't be adjusted - it was roasting hot / unusable 😕 Owner managed to adjust it a bit 2nd day but no plumber available. Did feel sorry for the owners as they were so lovely ....but was also disappointed for us. We were only there for the weekend and our room rate was £145 per night which was quite a lot of money for us - wedding anniversary treat. Anyway, expect shower will be fixed for next guests but had to be honest in my review.

Great place to stay

We loved our room, the Goodwood Suite, as it had a little anteroom with sofa, kettle and fridge. Lovely toiletries and soft bedding. The room was light, airy and relaxing. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very enjoyable. Beautiful old cottage. Parking was easy.

Highly recommended 10/10 in our view, we will definitely return.

Mandie & David are exceptional hosts, very informative on where to eat and where to visit, in fact the perfect stay. The location is very good, only 3/4 miles from centre of Chichester, the Priory opposite is adorable and only a 30 minute walk to Halnacker Windmill, lots of other towns within a 30 minute drive. There was a great choice for breakfast and all very tasty.

Superb

Nothing plastic in sight. China and silver for food and drink. Fresh milk and water in the fridge. Proper glasses and an excellent selection of quality teas. Breakfast was freshly made and cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit beautifully laid out. Coffee delicious. I would not hesitate to go back to this B&B again. The couple who own this were extremely helpful and friendly and very interested in their guests well-being.

We could not fault this bed and breakfast in any way at all.

The room was a good size and most comfortable. The on suite lounge was very cosy and the bathroom was gorgeous. The hosts were very friendly and keen to make sure we had an amazing experience. Breakfast was super.

Pleasant but problem getting a front door key.

Breakfast food, very quiet room, comfortable bed, helpful information about the area.

When I arrived I rang the doorbell several times, knocked with the door knocker, waited, tried again, still no answer, went round the side and shouted through an open window, no answer. Eventually Mandie came, said she’d been in the garden and that the battery in the doorbell wasn’t working!! then after she’d shown me the room and I asked for my key to get into the cottage she said they didn’t give guests front door keys because it was their home! And then insisted she would always be there to let me in!! Eventually she gave me a key, and thereafter was very solicitous and helpful about everything. I don’t want to be unkind as I know l life isn’t easy and I wasn’t going to write a review but friends said I should so when people booked they could make a request for a front door key.

Fantastic overnight stay in a charming cottage

Beautiful property. Mandy and Chris are very good hosts - nothing was too much trouble. Great breakfast and nice little touches, like free biscuits and fresh milk in the room.

Can only say it was as we hoped accept for the lack of hostilities nearby.

Just what we wanted, well looked after by Mandie & David. Nothing to much trouble.

Lack of places in the village to eat, had to drive in to Chichester, but it was a bad week to pick being school holidays, which did not help.

Exceptional

Very pretty cottage in quiet location, handy for Chichester. Hosts were friendly and helpful. We were given a free upgrade to the Goodwood suite. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent.
