We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Maroc. The accommodations are chic and the location is excellent. Having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the water with the cool ocean breeze was a special way to start each day. We hope to be back soon.

Fatima was our host for breakfast. She always had a special touched everything she did.
The to location could not be better. Cost a little more than some of the other Riads in town, but well worth it and still not expensive by any standard in the west.
Everything was excellent!

the staff and the food was amazing. can’t complain.
we had to change rooms given our room had the bathroom smelling really bad. we then paid for a better room (the room we originally ahad was already a suite). Overall we found the rooms incredibly expensive and while the location and decoration were amazing, the rooms were next to a nightclub and even the second room had a smelling problem. We couldn’t sleep due to the club putting music until late hours, and our second room also started smelling bad, but during the night we couldn’t leave the windows open as the noise from the night club was loud.
I never like to complain, and it pains me to write this review as the staff was so nice, and the food plus the decoration were great too, but paying what we paid for two nights of bad sleep and bad smell for a luxury room is not worth it. also, we found the spa treatments to be a little bit too expensive for what they were.

The location is superb and the overall quality of the property is excellent.
The staff looked slightly confused (although generally helpful). The breakfast was disappointing - it consisted of a tiny pot of granola, orange juice and a few pieces of bread.

Location, stunning design, faultless staff. An iconic place.
Absolutely nothing

Breakfast was ok, would have liked more variety and warm bread and coffee was never hot
Service attendance, breakfast

central location - quirky - cosy - great breakfast - comfortable beds - hot water bottle at night
no telephone communication to reception -drinks or tea service during the day would have been nice - lighting in bedroom was a bit dark

Completely charmed by this hotel. So stylish in its’ simplicity. Just perfect and loved our stay. Especially loved dining in the small rooms, breakfast on the terrace and the hot water bottle.
We had a few sound issues in our first room, not the fault of the property, but we really appreciated being looked after. Thank you.

Excellent RIAD , lovely location and great staff. Very friendly and helpful. Nothing was aproblem.
Central and great for shopping, eating and walks. Lots of entertainment in the main square. Quite close to the beach
We had the suite at the top of the RIAD my wife and I and the water pressure was relatively weak. Children were in lower rooms and did not experience this problem

Lovely breakfast spread on rooftop, in particular their house orange jam was delicious, wait staff particularly attentive . Innumerable cozy and beautifully decorated sitting rooms throughout. Well curated boutique store. Location within the Medina is superb.
Located near Taros, the bar that played DJ beats from late afternoon to after 2 am every single night! I slept ok with my wax style earplugs but my husband did not. Hotel does their best to call every night to have them turn off the music but to no avail. We were gifted a jar of jam for our trouble which was thoughtful.

the noise levels were off the charts. especially at night. could not sleep at all

- well situated in the medina of Essaouira
- super friendly staff / always smiling and supporting
- great rooftop terasse for breakfast
- some Interieur looks a bit old/ used / dusty
- worth the money but could be renovated a bit - the old style is chosen on purpose but doesn't always help the venue

Breakfast was lovely with something a little different every day, we took our breakfast on the beautiful rooftop with stunning views. Our suite was beautiful, comfortable and stylish. Good shower.
The staff were excellent, friendly and discreet. Reception was friendly and very efficient.
I go to Essaouira for the wonderful vibe, the incredibly friendly people, great no hassle shopping, and very cool, cafes's bars and restaurants. There is nowhere like Essaouira.
The evening meal. Very overcooked stuffed squid. It is such a hard dish to get right, I would take it off the menu. That said, the waiter was absolutely charming, brought us another dish and could not have been friendlier. I just think it's a mistake to put a dish like that on the menu as so few chefs get it right and there are way better ways to serve squid.

Villa Maroc was a very special place on or trip. First, Essaouira itself was fantastic - a beautiful and diverse coastal city with cooler temperatures than interior cities. The medina had many options for food - including truly outstanding Italian at Silvestro’s and Spanish tapas at Dar Baba - and the merchants were relatively low key with many prices marked, reducing the haggle factor. Villa Maroc was very accessible but a short (quiet) walk from the most active parts of the Medina. Our room was spacious and well decorated, and there are many nooks and sitting areas throughout the hotel, including a bar with a fireplace and a chess table. The food was outstanding, the hammam and massage services excellent, and the staff super helpful. They helped me prepare a box of stuff to mail home, and even went with me to the post office to make sure I knew what I was doing. We cannot recommend this Riad more highly.

We had a family suite and booked bed and breakfast and dined in the restaurant as and when we wished.
It was just wonderful. You feel the stress and worry melt away as soon as you enter, such a calm and peaceful riad ... but with the beach and watersports a stones throw away if you want some action.

Great breakfast served on the roof, right outside our room. Lots of cosy corners to relax in. The building is beautiful and quirky. Sitting by the fireside in the bar having a cocktail before enjoying excellent food in a beautiful private room The staff were exceptional!! Our waiters were amazing - on all levels there was a sense of really being looked after.
