Total dedication to eco friendly, 100% organic farming, the vision to build this beautiful resort as unobtrusively high up in the rain friendly, service impeccable

Beautiful quiet rooms in the jungle. Lots of amazing activities. We loved bird watching, chocolate making, rum tasting, sunset cruise and snorkelling with the chef! Very friendly staff. Great hotel

Everything, especially the amazing staff! A very special “thank you” to Ms. Elvina Ranguay who went above and beyond for a request I had. Our couple massages were invigorating and relaxing.

Ten out of ten. The property is absolutely gorgeous. There is so much to see and do. We visited the distillery, went on the farm tour with Joseph as well as snorkel with the chef. The staff there love their job and the mission of Copal Tree goes far beyond just bring a resort. It is the largest employer in southern Belize, it is the steward of 12,000 acres and promotes responsible agro tourism. By the time we left, we were already talking about when we could come back.
It’s pretty pricey.

Meals were good, staff friendly
I didn’t like that the resort allowed a group of 4 to order a full smoked lamb that was raised on the property. When I saw it being smoked I thought that this was going to be for all resort guests for dinner that evening. What I saw at dinner was that this was special ordered by a group of 4 people. We were very disgusted about the amount of waste we saw when they were done feasting. Somewhat disgusted by this and we thought this would be far from something an eco resort would allow.

This is truly one of the best resorts in the World. Amazing location. Beautiful views. Delicious farm fresh cuisine. Super friendly staff that treat you like family. Surrounded by nature and howler monkeys! Copal Tree is truly a special place! I highly recommend the Bean to Bar Chocolate Making Class as well as the Distillery Tour.

We absolutely loved our stay at Copal Tree and had a fabulous time. Everything is perfect! From the moment we checked in until we checked out. Customer service is excellent. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure a wonderful experience. The views are breathtaking. We saw beautiful monkeys and toucans. We will definitely come back and stay here again!

The staff were great and very friendly. They were eager to please and accommodate. The decor in the public areas was beautiful, updated and spot on. What I would expect at this price point. We also spent a lot of time in the screen porch, both the view and the sounds of the jungle were awesome and very relaxing.
The room was underwhelming. My first impression was wow-it's huge- and it was, a lot of wasted open empty and DARK space. Due to Covid-19 and a curfew, and rain (not their fault and out of their control) we spent a LOT of time in the room, and maybe under normal circumstances, most people wouldn't notice. Having decreased room/cleaning service also means dirty cups and glasses and trash not being removed and coffee and water not being refilled.
We were washing out the coffee maker and yesterdays cups in the bathroom.
The real reason for the mediocre review was the food. We expected to be wowed but it was "just ok" I ordered beef 3 nights out of 4 because you just can't get a good steak in Belize-it's what I miss most- and my opinion has not changed. Bottom line is although the public areas are gorgeous, and the staff well trained, the rooms and the food don't live up to the price point. It's overpriced, I mean $25USD for 2 coffees to go??

The scenery, the location, and the general layout of the resort. The drinks when done by Ducky were excellent, kudos to him (he even made us buy a bottle of rum)!
Staff was generally aloof, the rooms need a lot of work, clealiness is severely lacking as you see cobwebs in places that should easily be picked up by those doing the cleaning, our room wasn't even cleaned and the sheets changed, the quality of the drinks were inconsistent (Ducky was the one doing the drinks well!), the menu for breakfast and lunch needs to be revamped (dinner was excellent), and some other minor stuff.
