About this house rental
On the Hill in Saugatuck in a quiet neighborhood but walking distance to everything downtown Saugatuck has to offer. This home has been in the family for "four generations" although built brand new from the ground up in 2015. This home has the charm it has had for four generations yet all the amenities of a brand new home. Relax and read a book in the beautiful screened in porch, outdoor deck, or classic front porch. Sit inside by the fire on those cool summer nights or after enjoying the wonderful fall colors/wine touring/snow showing/hiking in the dunes in the wonderful other seasons of Saugatuck. This cottage is equipped with 2 bedrooms and two full baths, both with queen size beds. Two full baths with one shower tub combo and the other with a classic tub. The gourmet kitchen is open to the living room and with all high end appliances and finishes is perfect for creating the perfect meal while enjoying the company of others. This cottage has it all! Start creating your memories in this beautiful cottage for "generations" to come!
By renting this cottage you are agreeing to the following rules:

1.) All of our rentals are non-smoking.
2.) You and your guests are using our home at your own risk. We nor the owner of the property will be held responsible for any injuries that occur at the vacation rental or for any lost or stolen items.
3.) No boats or trailers are to be parked at our rental properties. Tents of any kind are not allowed. There is parking for two cars in front of cottage. Parking is allowed on the street.
4.) Do not move the furniture.
5.) Each cottage has a maximum number of guests that is listed on this contract you must verify that it is correct. That number is not to be exceeded - this includes children and adults. For fire safety, we are required to limit the number in each home. If additional people are found to be staying at the cottage the entire group will be asked to vacate with no refund. Inflatable mattresses or alternative sleeping other than pack n plays or cribs are not allowed. Tents are also not allowed on the property.
6.) Pets are not permitted. If a pet is on the property then there will be a $1500 fee and it will be required that the owner board the pet immediately.
7.) Damages are to be reported during your stay. If we find damage after you vacate, you authorize the charge to your credit card for replacement or repair or provide another credit card number, pay by cash or check. Damages reported upon arrival will not be guests' responsibility.
8.) Cleaners will come to the cottage after you have departed - they will not visit to clean, change linens, or replace towels during your stay. Please contact the office should you need assistance during your stay regarding any cleaning items.
9.) Grills are to be cleaned after each use.
10.) Quiet time is after 10pm nightly. We do not tolerate loud groups and college like parties anytime of the day or night.
11.) You are at least 25 years old and will be able to verify with valid identification during your stay if needed.
12.) Weddings and formal events are NOT permitted on our properties, if there is found to be a formal event on the property the entire group will be asked to vacate the property with a no refund. It is acceptable to have a visitors during the day hours but that number can not be more than double the maximum occupancy of the cottage.
These rules are strictly enforced due to NEW city and township ordinances. This contract is the only warning you will get. If any rules are not followed all local fines, security deposits and any other charges will be charged to guest and the entire group will be asked to vacate the property. Perfect long weekend stay. The house is clean and comfortable. Short walk to downtown which was perfect. We enjoyed our time and would love to come back

The property was in excellent condition and perfectly outfitted for the three of us (including our 2-year old). The location is amazing, a very short stroll to everything the town has to offer and set in a picturesque neighborhood.

Great curb appeal, very clean an ideal location. However, the extra firm cheap mattresses were way below my expectations for $350 a night. No one got a good nights sleep and felt very sore the next day. Please spend some money and upgrade your mattresses for this neighborhood and rental price the quality of mattresses and living room furniture does not make this for an enjoyable weekend to relax and get some good old fashion R&R. The small uncomfortable living room furniture could use updating for con comfort and style. We make an annual trip from Indianapolis to Saugatuck every fall while we’d like to go and enjoy the beautiful countryside and downtown Saugatuck. A part of our trip is to enjoy and relax in a vacation rental and relaxing and comfortable was not at all on this trip with this rental. Over priced would not recommend if you’re looking for a combination of enjoying Western Michigan and relaxing in your vacation rental. This is not the choice for you. However, if you’re looking for a place to hang your hat and take a shower, maybe this is for you. No hand soap at the sinks to wash your hands. Extremely slow internet.

Very nice area, great location. The home was even better than the pictures portrayed which were wonderful within themselves. I did bring my elderly mother and we were pleasantly surprised that there was a walk in shower— very grateful for this feature. We had a lovely time and the home fit all of our needs.

This house was perfect for our family vacation with our 2 young kids (3 years old and 10 months). It had everything we needed and was the perfect size. The house was very clean and the owner properly communicated everything we needed to know. It’s a very short and easy walk to town. We’d love to come back and will check availability on this property first if we do!

The house was really beautiful with a lot of modern updates. Such a quiet neighborhood but within walking distance of downtown Saugatuck, you just park your vehicle on the parking pad and let it have a vacation too. Great place for a getaway and sitting in the screened in deck as a favorite of ours.

We booked this cottage for a weekend trip and had the best time. The home is spacious and clean, and there are plenty of spaces to congregate as a group, or spend some quiet time by yourself. It's a very fast and easy walk to downtown Saugatuck, and the neighborhood is beautiful. Would definitely stay again!

The cottage was perfect, so clean and comfortable.We were so busy, just being there two nights, so we never ate in, the kitchen had everything you would need if you chose to do that.We had dinner at Phil’s Bar and Grill uptown,it was recommended by friends that live near by. If your looking for a nice quiet location that you can walk to town this is it, you won’t be disappointed!!

This home is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. It’s away from the hustle of the town, yet an easy walk to get there when you want to shop or eat. The side porch is marvelous, and everything was just as it looked on-line. Comfortable beds and very clean. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed a quick stay at this beautiful house in Saugatuck. Very easy to find and a short walk into town. The space is nice and open with comfortable furniture, the weather didn't allow us to use the outside spaces which looked great. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property and stay there again in the future.

Beautiful newer home on a quiet street, a nice walk to downtown and the waterfront. A neighbor we met told us this house was completely rebuilt, not just remodeled. This was our 15th annual women’s trip to Saugatuck and the accommodations keep getting better!
Just a few suggestions:
— The unusual shaped steps off the door guests enter/ exit may be a bit hazardous in the dark. We used our phone lights. A coach light there would be helpful.
— If this were my home I would have a no-shoes policy and ask guests upfront to bring indoor sandals, slippers or socks. The wood floors are beautiful and this is cleaner/ more sanitary and prevents any scratches from shoe grit. We checked our shoes/ sandals carefully or took them off.
— The laundry soap provided was scented, but thankfully the linens must have been sent to an outside laundry service that follows the fragrance free protocol. But if a previous guest washed a blanket or bedspread with the detergent provided, I would have woken up with a headache and asthma attack.
— One oversight by the cleaning company- there was thick dust under the master bed, some under the second bed. Otherwise very clean.
— The decor in the 2nd bedroom seemed out of place with the rest of the house (when all guests are adults). A neutral bedspread like the master and a nice picture added would make this beautiful house even nicer.
Many thanks to the owners for a great stay at our favorite Saugatuck accommodations in 15 years.

Beautiful home with a great neighborhood that was very quiet. Love the screened in porch to sit in the evening. Antique tub in the master bath was a wonderful soaking tub. The mattress in the master was firm but comfortable, although family members said the second bedroom mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. Better lighting in the bedrooms would be appreciated if you like to read in bed the lamps are too small to give adequate light. Overall a very nice stay and we would rent it again.

The location is ideal. Walkable to town but in a quiet area. The cottage is beautiful and well equipped with everything that you would need. We really enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to go back!

Fabulous Location and Home!
We so enjoyed our stay at this fabulous VRBO. It has been recently renovated and is gorgeous inside with comfortable beds and common areas. It was the best of both worlds; a short walk into town (5 minutes) and nestled in a quiet neighborhood. There was just the two of us, but it would be a great spot for 4 people. We will be back!

Spent 3 nights here for a wedding. Perfect walking distance location to downtown Saugatuck. Home is renovated and stylish. Very spacious got our group of 4. Kitchen is a bit sparse, bring paper plates/cups if you don't want to have to do dishes!

My recent stay at Four Generations was most wonderful. The cottage was perfect - very comfortable and homey. The home had everything we needed, was exceptionally clean, private and quiet. Cute, Cozy, and Comfortable
The property was fantastic; just the right size for my two (adult) daughters and myself, but would also work for two couples or a small family. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms modern and updated with amenities like hand soap, fresh soft towels, a hair dryer, and a beautiful claw foot tub in the master.
The kitches was equally well-appointed. We cooked several meals on our own, and everything I needed was there.
We had room to relax in the open-concept living/family room, and we sat and watched movies on the comfortable couches and chairs.
I will rent this property again! Thanks for a beautiful setting.
