About this apartment rental
Beautiful ocean views in this 2 bedroom plus loft Maui vacation rental. Enjoy sunset dinners and catch glimpses of whales from your own lanai. This unit is ideally located in the complex with the lanai being over the quiet grassy area. Upstairs bedroom and loft both have a queen bed each, downstairs bedroom has 2 twin beds, and living room has a queen sleeper sofa making this unit one of few condos in the area for large groups looking to share space and costs. This unit has had a recent refresh with new carpet and baseboards, new dishwasher, fresh paint, bathroom upgrades, restock of kitchen goods, new lights, new end tables, a deep clean, and many other details to make your stay a comfortable one. Tropical rattan furniture in living room, with comfortable carpet for games and movies with the kids. Flat screen TV in living room, TV also in master bedroom. Ready with everything you need for a wonderful Maui vacation. Located across the street from a beautiful beach with frequent turtle sightings, perfect for snorkeling and boogie boarding. This was our first time at the property. It was a great location especially to the beach. The unit was a great size for the 7 of us and was fully stocked with everything you would need including lots of beach equipment. We would definitely come back.

The location is great, right across the street from the beach and beautiful sunsets! Lanai had a great view of the ocean. Our condo was not well maintained. It had dirty carpets and very dirty old furniture, (both should be replaced), a leaky fridge and a poorly working dishwasher. The bathrooms needed a good scrub and the plug in the upstairs tub didn't work well, water kept leaking out. No windex was provided for the glass dining and coffee table. No cleaning supplies for bathroom sink and toilets provided. The locker had some beach supplies but was also very disorganized and dirty. Manager service was OK. I'd recommend the property and location with a warning that every condo is maintained (by the owner) differently and you are taking chance. It could be really well maintained with updates or poorly maintained and dirty, like ours.

Unit was dated (old rug etc) but clean and comfortable with excellent location in the complex. Kitchen reasonably but eclectically supplied, no kettle though (a problem for us tea drinkers). There are lots of beach toys et. Most puzzling to us was the Coop's approach cleaning supplies - there was no mop and no whisk, let alone any cloths or cleaning solutions etc. It might be in the owner's interest to have these materials on hand for guests.....

Our family stayed in unit 223 for a week. The condo was well equipped with tons of beach toys. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, dishes and utensils. The location was perfect! We watched whales from our lanai. Right across the street from the beach and within walking distance to many great restaurants. We would rent this condo again!

This location was ideally located & the grounds were amazing.The condo itself was fine for what we needed, a space to eat & sleep, but the condo is in DIRE need of an upgrade! The carpets are OLD and NEED replacing & the kitchen, while serviceable, also needs an upgrade.While the condo needs some upgrades, I need to say the cleanliness of the condo when we arrived was questionable. I am certain that we left the condo cleaner (I cleaned the condo myself, but still not the cleanest) than when we arrived. The people cleaning the condo do not do a good job, they only clean the surfaces (example: the top of the fridge had YEARS of dirt solidified, took me 15 min. to clean & it still WAS NOT clean).Otherwise, this condo & the complex were great & we'd recommend the Hale Kamaole complex to others.

We have stayed in Hale Kamaole for 12 of the last 15 years. Have a good experience in all the condos until now. 223 is the most disappointing condo we have stayed in. It needs some serious attention. There are soft spots in the upper bedroom floor that are going to punch through some day soon. Some of the grout in the upstairs bathroom is missing and the tiles are starting to come loose. We had to buy a kettle because the one in the condo was filled with black scale. The kitchen is short of utensils. The scissors in the kitchen drawer look like it was dug out of a garden after being buried for years. The location is great with a good ocean view. Would expect a much better maintained condo for $429 a night

We had a great stay at Hale Kamaole! Great location, right across the street from the beach. Very clean with lots of towels and beach equipment like chairs, coolers, umbrella, boogie boards, etc. The pool was great for days when you don't want to get sandy at the beach. Great location and the grounds are kept stunning! The kids love the two pools and the bbqs are convenient.The unit 223 has the option of two twin beds in the main level bedroom which worked great for our kids. It’s well layed out.Overall compared to other units we’ve stayed in, this unit is looking tired and is in need of minor updates/refresh (and some sharper knives!). The sliding screen was very stuck and hard to open. We had many little ants in the kitchen so the office had to come by and spray.

It was amazing. It was a little warm in living room at times. You do have to walk up a flight of stairs. But yes I would definitely rent this again if given a chance.

Although the condo is in an excellent location, the place had lots of bugs, and a cockroach that was dead in the middle of the room that was not cleaned up prior to check in that makes me question when the cleaning crew last came by, and the AC situation is really bad and not enough for condo. Unless you are constant wet it was miserable for people that may be didnt want to go swim or shower at that time. The staff is also really hard to get a hold off during the day. I tried calling their direct number as well as through VRBO messaging. In person is probably the way to go. The after hours guy Scott was at least easy to get ahold of. There are plenty of other rentals in that same location so I would go somewhere else next time.

The property manager said it was the owner's fault: they did not set up the Internet correctly after a recent change of the Internet provider, or something like that. The property manager advised us to connect to neighbors' Internet. Which is what we ended up doing, but the quality of connection was very poor. Couple of days later, a technician came over to fix the Internet. After that we finally gained an access to out condo's Internet, however the quality of connection was very bad: basically only good enough for text and low res photos. It was quite nostalgic, because it reminded me of the good old times when I had dial-up internet connection as a teenager. So that was the only negative experience of an otherwise great stay.

2 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 kids had a great time in Unit 223. With the beach right across the street, the pool even closer and a terrific, broad, landscaped lawn between the units, we greatly appreciated the collection of boogie boards, snorkels, balls, etc. available in the condo. Temperature regulation was something of an issue as the bedroom air conditioners struggled.

There are only two little AC units in the bedrooms, the rest of the unit is very hot and humid, so makes it hard to sleep anywhere but inside the bedrooms.
