Stayed here with friends, fished on the Osprey out of Groton. This was an awesome place to stay. I highly recommend it.

I brought my barbers to Ct for a barber expo and found the perfect location, 10 minutes away from the Mohegan Sun Casino. House was will kept and the history was intriguing. Definitely recommended for a peaceful stay.

If you're looking for a space that can comfortably sleep 10+ people with the casino only a short uber ride away, this is the place for you.
Pros
- abundance of rooms, some additional pull-out couches
- large kitchen and multiple living rooms
- master jet tub actually works
- spacious grill area
- three showers, no problem with hot water
Cons
- privacy wise, the space has a connected tenant above the garage, but it's not near any of the actual rooms
- backyard has a garden with a bridge, but it was overgrown and unusable
- grill needs new grates and grill accessories, all rusted
- outdoor patio furniture limited and half broken
- outdoor patio table was unkept and dirty from winter season, had to clean it to use it (what is a cleaning fee for?)
- basement is damp

This is a historic home with a lot of charm. The location was perfect for us, close to everything we needed. The property manager was kind and very responsive and even allowed us an early check-in.
Unfortunately, the house is in disrepair. The roof in the large room leaks, there was water in front of the fireplace we needed to clean up. The kitchen, is extremely unorganized and not clean. There weren't even pot holders; we purchased a set and left them with the house. We washed everything before we used it and attempted to organize the things we used for cooking and eating... Also, the beds we chose are old and not comfortable; we could feel the springs through the mattresses.
The games room is a lot of fun with the pool table and air hockey; we enjoyed that space very much. Overall the stay was nice, however I don't think I would stay at this property again.

Our family of twelve, ( adults and teenagers) recently had a 3 night stay at the Judge Brown house. The house is a mixture of architectural details from the turn of the century mixed with modern amenities. There was ample parking, and at times we occupied 5 spots! The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, silverware, pots, pans, etc. Highlights for us included- comfy beds, a table large enough for 12, the “game room” complete with pool table, and the outdoor space where we enjoyed our morning coffee. The Judge Brown house was the perfect place for our family to reconnect and enjoy each other’s company!

Valeria is a very responsive host and this big house makes a great gathering spot for our annual reunion. We enjoy the big kitchen, large tables, and numerous gathering rooms in this historic house. Plenty of space, the neighborhood is quiet, and we didnt even notice the tenant in the adjoining building. Thank you for another great stay!

Property was left in dirty conditions. My family and I had to spend an hour cleaning toilets, a freezer and fridge, a moldy shower and a grill that had grease just caked on it. Communication with Valeria the host was good except she denied the property being in the condition it was in even with photo evidence she attempted to accuse my family of being the cause of the filth. We had freezing water the first night to shower and maintenance informed us they have been warning Valeria of the issue for weeks because they keep having to reset the water heater ( which they did the second day of our stay) One room had a broken AC so was unusable. Overall we enjoyed the time we spent as a family together but this home is not what is represented in the description or photos. For the money your spending choose another house.

This was the perfect spot for our wedding night stay! There were plenty of rooms/beds to accommodate our bridal party. Me and my husband had an amazing soak in the huge tub at the end of the night and it was the perfect way to wind down from our wedding. My husband is 6’4” so we were truly in love with the tub being large enough to accommodate him!

Stunning house and property. My friends and I were very happy here and had everything we needed. It’s also close to Mohegan and that was great! The host was very responsive as well.

Birthday Weekend
The judge brown ouse was incredible! Beautiful property, plenty of sleeping space, great for hosting. Celebrated a birthday weekend with close friends and family here. Booked this property because originally had a group of near 17-18, ended up being about 12 of us going. We hung out at the house all weekend, cooking, playing games, talking and catching up. It was very very cozy.
Valeria is awesome and very easy to contact and makes the check in process so easy. At one point, couple friends of ours who live 20 minutes from Norwich stopped over with their dogs to say hi. The house has a very strict no pet policy which is clearly stated in the rules but I seem to have missed somehow. Valeria immediately contacted me and politely let me know and we got the dogs off the property. She is very efficient and reachable.
Only qualm is that there is a tenant who lives in an apartment that is connected to the house and who frequently was outside smoking and interacting with us rudely. At one point he claimed we were blocking his car in the driveway even though we made it a point to specifically park alongside his car and not behind it. At around 1 am he slightly opened his garage and was repeatedly peaking over at us through the windows and taking pictures of our cars. Very strange although he never came over to say anything to us. Felt like an extreme invasion of privacy but was otherwise a great stay. Probably wouldn't stay again solely for that reason but the property and manager were wonderful.

Judge Brown House
We had 13 family members aged 6 months to 72 stay here for the Christmas holidays. Everything was wonderful in this very spacious, clean, well managed property. There was something for everyone to do and plenty of space to do it in. The kitchen was well appointed and so roomy and cooking on the 6 burner stove and using the double ovens was a dream. The lower level game room with air hockey, a pool table and a 70” TV was very well loved and used. We are already talking about staying here again!

Great location for both the casinos and Mystic
Lovely spacious older home with tremendous character. The only caveat are the stairs. Not particularly steep or lengthy but there are many set of them you will navigate. Only a concern if you have issues with stairs or have little kids that like to run up and down them. Otherwise highly recomend.

Perfect reunion property
This was our second stay at the Judge Brown House, and we hope to return again! The house is well cared for and spacious. It is charming and historic, but well-stocked and updated with the necessary conveniences. The wifi and TVs were great.
We prepared gourmet meals in the kitchen and summer kitchen for 12 people for 3 days straight, and had several choices for dining areas. Some larger pans might have been helpful, but we were able to make it work. The common rooms are spacious and the basement is a great spot for group activities. The master bed and bath are fantastic, and the other bedrooms are adequate, with comfortable mattresses. We brought air mattresses to maximize the sleeping situation.
We walked the neighborhood and enjoyed the historic homes, town green, and the beautiful cathedral. While we were close to the casinos, we chose a day trip to East Haddam for a river cruise and a walk at Gillette Castle.
Valeria was extremely responsive to my multiple messages during both stays. I highly recommend this property for larger groups.

Very cool house
Valeria was very easy to work with, and the house was just as pictured. She was very accomodating and fair to my friends and I. There is a tenant on the property I didn't know about until booking, but he seemed kind and and easygoing. Hopefully our group didn't bug him too much!

Amazing mini getaway
Overall I was so impressed with the property and the communication with the owner. It was the perfect place to have a small weekend getaway with my partner and our friends. Plenty to do in the area and at the house, and more than enough room for everyone to feel comfortable.

Our Magical Family Holiday Stay
We stayed at the Judge Brown House for our annual family Christmas gathering last December, and traveled from 4 different states to make it happen. What a celebration! The house was sprawling and beautiful... Countless rooms to explore and places to spread out. The kids were calling it our "Christmas Mansion". We immediately felt warmly welcomed, especially when we found two gorgeously decorated Christmas trees greeting us in the main great room and living room. The home was clean, organized and well stocked and found all we needed to make our stay comfortable. Outdoor grill/kitchen was listed as available but may not be in winter months, which might be disappointing to some. Fireplaces were a bit challenging to light, but the owners kindly advised us of that in advance and we thoroughly enjoyed them! Everything was true to listing, and made for a magical, memorable holiday!

Large but run down
Although the house is large, it is evident the owners do not invest in maintaining this property (weeds galore growing between the bricks in the courtyard which great you at the door; outside furniture is old and mildew as water leaks from the roof and skylight above, ovens were dirty; basement/rec room smelled of dampness and mildew; air hockey table was in disrepair and not completely functional; pond and grass area in back are in bad shape; lights not working; sink not working; two refrigerators in very poor condition.

A wonderful 30th birthday!
I hosted my 30th birthday on New Year’s Eve (I didn’t want people to drive) at this amazing house and we had such a blast! Texted the owner when I couldn’t figure out the TV and she was very helpful. Lovely house, so much space! Thanks again V!

Perfect for a large gathering of friends!
We had a great stay at the Judge Brown House. 12 of us stayed there, and the accommodations were everything we had hoped for. The home is clean and well-stocked, with multiple large areas for eating and socializing. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well-stocked. When a maintenance issue arose, Valeria was immediately available and very responsive. We would highly recommend this property and are considering returning next year!

Most Enjoyable!
Valeria was a pleasure to work with. She responded almost instantly to questions. The house is absolutely beautiful. We stayed for my husband’s 50th with 14 guests some from CT, MA and RI. It was the perfect meeting spot. Loved the outdoor kitchen! The only complaint is that it’s more like 10 miles to Mohegan not 3. But that certainly did not put a damper on our fabulous weekend and stay!
