About this house rental
If you’d like your beach holiday to feature more than sun and sand, look no further than Casa Salita. This vacation rental offers lush Costa Rican rainforest surroundings filled with exotic wildlife and easy access to outdoor adventure straight from your backyard.
LOCATION
Located in Playa Langosta, Casa Salita is bordered by a national preserve so you will enjoy the feeling of being in the jungle while you are only two blocks from the beach!
Playa Langosta is a charming (and calm) residential neighborhood about a 15-minute walk using the road (or a 5-minute bike ride) or a $4 cab ride to the sights and sounds of downtown Tamarindo (with its multitude of bars and nightlife). Also possible to walk back and forth on the beach.
ACCOMMODATION
Rooms: The four bedrooms mean the house can sleep up to 9 people (6 in the bedrooms and 3 in the open-plan mezzanine space).
Upstairs in the main house, you can find:
-the Master bedroom with its king bed and ensuite bathroom; and
-the mezzanine/loft (not counted officially as a bedroom because it is open to the living room) which offers you the choice of 2 single beds or one king bed, whichever suits your needs better, and Downstairs, rooms 2 and 3 both have double beds and share a full spacious bathroom.
Kitchen, living spaces, and outdoor areas:
Earth tones and wood finishes are showcased over the fully equipped kitchen, living, and dining areas. While colorful accents give a vibrant Costa Rican culture touch all over the house.
In the afternoon, after a day filled with adventures, you can relax by the pool and enjoy a nice barbecue in the outdoor rancho (equipped with a full-sized gas grill and its own fridge and sink). Don’t hesitate to pick your own limes from the lime trees (two varieties) if they’re in season.
The wraparound patio outside the main house means you can enjoy the jungle views from the sitting area. Lounge beside the pool while monkeys and birds chill in their natural habitat right beside you! Two outside showers will keep you fresh…
BEACHES AND SURF IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
There are beaches for all levels of surfers within 500m of the house:
-Playa Langosta (300 yards): gorgeous, wild, and relatively unspoiled and is home to several of the best surf breaks in the area (for advanced surfers). Many seabirds and fun sea life to discover in the rocks at low tide. If you’re very lucky, you can spot sea turtles bobbing around in the sea from the rocks;
-Capitan Suizo (southern end of Playa Tamarindo) (400yards): the best learner breaks are on this beach (easiest at the southern end in front of the Captain Suizo Hotel);
-Playa Tamarindo (under 1 mile) is also a good surfer beach (beginner and advanced).
FOOD & SHOPPING…
Playa Langosta and Tamarindo offer all kinds of dining options (from typical Costa Rican family restaurants to local burger joints to 5-star dining), organic cafes, farmers markets, food courts, night markets, plenty of shopping options, and great bars to enjoy your margaritas while watching the sunset.
Langosta has one supermarket, two delicious pizza restaurants (El Sapo, Fish, and Cheese), a great local bar (Langosta Surfer’s Bar), an Indian restaurant (Tandoor), and even a new Mediterranean restaurant (Sofia) and a new Langosta Bistro with a kid’s library and smoothies place…
In nearby Tamarindo, all amenities are close by, including supermarkets, several pharmacies, and local area doctors. I

Awesome home with lots of wildlife to experience.

Fantastic property for families with young children. Located close to the beach and close to town. Our kids loved the pool and all the beach toys. Plenty of space and an extremely accommodating host. We forgot a pool floatie for one of our kids and he found something in town that worked and brought it to us. I forgot my laptop and he lent me his for an hour. I cannot overstate how kind and helpful the host, Jason, was. Would definitely stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Salitas in Playa Langosta. The casa was in an excellent location for getting to the beaches and into Tamarindo. It was a short walk to the beach to see the gorgeous sunset. The Langosta Supermarket was also a short walk away if you needed supplies. The four bedrooms plus the one in the casita were just right for our family of ten. After a morning at the beach, we enjoyed cooling off in the swimming pool or just lounging around the pool. The outside kitchen with BBQ, fridge, sink and large table was perfect for family dinners. Several beach chairs and boogie boards were availble for our use as well as a washer and dryer. The grounds were always clean and the pool & outdoor kitchen area were cleaned daily. The staff were excellent, very friendly and willing to answer any of your questions or help you book tours. An excellent place to stay.

Outdoor space was great

This was a well furnished, spacious home for our family of 8 to spend a very relaxing and fun vacation together. Great communication and support from the staff of the rental and excellent location near less crowded beaches and only a mile from Tamarindo!

Great property and location, exactly what we were looking for
We really enjoyed our stay at this fantastic property. The location was perfect for us, a little bit outside of Tamarindo but still near the beach, restaurants and other services we enjoyed exploring. The space was perfect for our family trip, and with kids, having the (gated) pool was absolutely perfect! The space was comfortable and clean. Being at the end of the road and backing up to the jungle, the property provided some amazing experiences with a family of monkeys that came through the nearby tree's daily, iguanas, birds and more. We enjoyed having the outside kitchen area, refrigerator and barbecue area for many lunches and dinner. While the house and location were phenomenal, the real highlight was the amazing staff. From the concierge to the property manager to the grounds keeper who came daily, everyone worked really hard to make sure we had everything we needed for an amazing trip. We were so appreciative of the staff, I just cannot say enough about how thoughtful and communicative they were, just really outstanding. They really made us feel cared for during our stay. We would all recommend this property and the staff without any reservations and would stay again if we ever came back.

Wonderful Property
We had an amazing stay. The house was very comfortable for the 8 of us and the neighborhood was quiet, fun, and convenient to Tamarindo. Communication with the property manager was very responsive and made planning easy. We opted for the daily breakfast and golf carts - which I would definitely recommend. Would love to come back and stay again.

Was decent but pictures were misleading
The check-in process was easy and the location was perfect. Wilmer, the groundskeeper was very nice and helpful. However, the pictures on the listing did not match the actual condition of the house. Pictures look like they are from when the house was sparkling clean and first staged. Even though the house had been cleaned by the crew, it still had caked on gunk everywhere, that I actually ended up cleaning myself. The best part of the house was the pool and backyard area. We broke two of the kitchen glasses which I gladly paid for, but then we were also accused of breaking the door and scratching the glass in the shower, which I didn’t appreciate. I took pictures of everything when we first got in the house to have proof of the obvious wear and tear that was there upon our arrival.

Wonderful in all ways.
Great place with lots of room inside and out. A backyard paradise with the pool, cabana and tropical wildlife viewing . Private and relaxing. The porches are so nice to sit out on in the morning s and evenings. The beaches were stunning to walk to and the local grocery store, a short walk. The staff assisting us were amazing and so helpful. Fantastic place and holiday. Thank you kindly.

Perfect spot for a getaway!
Perfect spot for a getaway for a family or group of friends! The house was comfortable, super clean and had everything we needed. Next to the pool is a covered outdoor space with a large table, fans and a bathroom. Just beyond that is a lovely 1 bedroom casita that extended the living space. We were a party of 6 friends and never felt crowded. Our group spent a lot of time poolside, which was a nice reprieve from the heat. Location was great and easy to walk to beach or town. We rented a golf cart and that was a great way to get around. Jason and Lindsey are super hosts and helped us with so many details of our trip. They are quick to respond and full of great recommendations. It was my first trip to Costa Rica but definitely not my last.

Loved it!
Great stay. First, Lindsey and Jason were helpful answering all our questions and had some great tour and restaurant advice.
Loved the style of the house, and the grounds were amazing, with so much outdoor space and a very refreshing pool. Saw monkeys and lots of wildlife. The casita was nice and private, and the main house had plenty of space for our party with 3 bedrooms and the loft. Beds and linens were very comfy.
Loved the privacy and quiet of the location, yet could still walk to a few restaurants and the beach. Easy enough to get to Tamarindo (about a mile away) for everything else.
Would definitely stay again!

Fantastic stay
Loved it - we had a great time at Casa Salita! Beautiful house and so much great outdoor space, including the pool, the covered patio around the house, and the lush green spaces. We saw monkeys, iguanas and lots of other wildlife!
The house was very comfortable with enough rooms for all of us, and the location is great - close enough to Tamarindo to get there easily but far enough away that it is very quiet and peaceful. There is also easy access to the beach at both Langosta and Tamarindo.
Lindsey and Jason were easy to communicate with and had lots of great local restaurant and tours tips.
Would definitely stay again!
