Relax and rejuvenate in this private quiet hilltop, in a very quiet and safe family neighborhood (we don't lock our cars at night).

PLEASE Inquire (click "Contact Owner"), rather than doing a Reservation Request (Booking). Because we list on 5 different sites, our calendar is not always up to date. We do our best, but because the demand is so high, we get inundated with reservation requests and then get penalized by for declining the ones that are not a good fit. Help us out and send an inquiry first! We promise to respond very quickly! Our typical response rate is 2-10 minutes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE SPACE: This private efficiency apartment is completely stand-alone, with its own bathroom, kitchenette, entrance, and patio. This unit was recently completely remodeled and is fresh and super clean.
You'll feel like you're at home with heating, AC, TV, Wi-Fi, and a fully equipped kitchenette - it's large and features a refrigerator, 2-burner electric stove, coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, cutlery, pans, pots, wine opener, can opener, salt/pepper, and paper towels. And we've pre-stocked the fridge with bottled water and fresh Starbucks coffee beans!
The single bedroom features a queen-sized bed with a brand new spring-coil mattress and high-quality bedding, a large closet, two nightstands, and two small cabinets to store your stuff. The sparkling bathroom is also stocked with towels, soap, shampoo & conditioner, has plenty of cabinets and storage, and has a Jacuzzi bathtub!
There is a washer/dryer on the premises. It is $5 a load, and detergent and dryer sheets are provided. You even have use of our outdoor BBQ (on the main patio).
For business travelers, we also offer wireless access to a laser printer and scanner.
GUEST ACCESS: The whole house! It has its own parking, entrance, courtyard, and an amazing view. (You are assigned one Guest Parking Space; for more vehicles, we have ample street parking.)
INTERACTIONS WITH GUESTS: We live next-door and are almost always home. We are just a text message away if you need anything at all. Our family is very friendly and enjoys interacting with our guests.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Our neighborhood is in the quiet suburbs of East San Diego County, a single-family residential area called El Cajon. It is super safe; in fact, we don't even lock our cars at night. The property is generally sunnier than the coast, while still enjoying easy access to beaches, mountains & deserts. Nearby restaurants, malls, and grocery stores in Santee (7 minutes away). Beach access is only about 25 minutes, on the 52 or the 8.
DRIVING: We are just a quick 4 minutes from the I-52 and I-8 freeways, providing easy access to everywhere.
TRANSIT: While a bus stop is just a 10-minute walk away, keep in mind that San Diego's public transportation system is terrible; you are far better off renting a car at the local Enterprise car rental place for approx. $25/day.
Nearby food options are extremely diverse, including BBQ, Mexican, burgers, global cuisines from Japanese to Lebanese, and major chains such as Denny's, Mimi's, Olive Garden, Starbucks. It is just 30 minutes away from the beaches at La Jolla Cove, La Jolla Shores, Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, and Mission Bay.

Cute and Intimate for Those On-The-Go
This is a cute, clean and well-appointed unit, but the space is a bit small, so better for people on-the-go. The hosts were fabulous and made me feel right at home, and graciously responded in a timely manner to all my inquiries and/or requests. You can't go wrong here!

Quiet Beauty with All the Amenities
This well equipped unit is perfect for on-the-go folks! The owners have made sure that all your basic comforts, and more, are met! But it is very intimate in size, so this did not work for my mostly business only trip, where I needed more room to spread out. But it's cute, comfortable, quiet...with a fantastic view and very gracious and accommodating hosts, so you cannot go wrong!

More like a Chateau than an aprtment
How can you call it an apartment?
It is not big, but this is no apartment. More like a Chateau or condo, or some kind of cute 3 room studio tucked away in a hilltop complex.
With a two acre backyard, boulder, trails, and all with 15 min of central San Diego. And all the modern amenities and kitchen supplies. This is going on my "Like" list for sure! Hope to come back next year when the "polar Vortex" hits the Midwest!

I don't know what to call this. an apartment, duplex, condo. whatever it is, we had a great stay. 2 refrigerators (not big ones) in one huge kitchenette. I like that. So many appliances. The best things of all. Free Starbucks coffee!!! Nice to watch the WWII places from the private deck on the patio! Next extended business assignment I am all over this unit!

Love that patio and those views
At first being 20 min from the heart of San Diego was not what I had in mind, but in the end being away from the bustle and traffic and yet have easy access to all of San Diego was awesome! The unit is clean, bright, lots of light, hi-tech, and pretty much what you see in the photos. Love that patio.

Not a cabin, but a very modern condo that has that charm. Very functional. Perfect for a traveling nurse. This was a great place to be to get my work done while still feeling a bit like I was on vacation. Big thank you to the hosts for being so hospitable!”

Great place at a great price
I searched for many units and had a hard time finding much in San Diego until I stumbled on this one. I heard there was a big housing shortage there but little gems like this can still be found on this site.

Clean, modern, and I lost count of how many squirrels I saw
This is going to sound out there, BUT you know that one Disney princess that has all the little animal friends come to her as she opens the windows? Is it Cinderella? Or was it the sleeping one with the fairies? Well, the point is, THAT’S what I felt like when I opened the door in the am! The scenery is so foesty and grounding. I lost count of how many squirrels I saw. I was tempted to try to feed them some peanuts or something but I didn’t know if they would continue coming back for more food and didn’t want to cause any issues. There’s even a little trail accessible if you wanna go for a light hike. There are units on either side of this place but it honestly feels like you’re there all on your own, no noise, no coming and going, and the hosts are so graciously available and friendly if you need anything.
I had forgotten just how beautiful nature is and I’m glad I was able to be reminded while enjoying it from atop a very comfortable bed watching Netflix. This place deserves all the stars for the neighborhood alone.

Perfect Place for a Long Term Stay!
This place was great! The owners were very kind and accommodating, they were helpful with everything we needed. The suite was quiet, well furnished, and more than enough space. I would definitely stay here again!

First off Mike is wonderful as a host, quick responses for all of your questions and attentive that your stay is enjoyable.
I loved hearing the sounds of nature in the morning but still being able to reach the inner parts of San Diego with ease. It was like staying in a private condo, especially enjoyed the private bath which had a jacuzzi tub , (a very big plus). full kitchen, and the bed was super comfortable. I had a short stay but well worth it being that it was a safe neighborhood and nothing seemed nefarious. I had a rental car which made my trip easier, parking was a breeze with on site parking, had to park a couple times on the street but I was out late which was expected and didn’t mind. Would definitely recommend as well as try to stay again when I am back in San Diego!
Overall great host, easy to talk to, and wonderful hospitality.

I am from San Diego but needed a place to stay during renovations to my house. I am so glad I ran across this place. It is perfectly suited for extended stays. It is like a self-contained private little condo. Having a separate bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom is nice. The neighborhood is very safe and the parking is convenient. It is close to plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, and malls. I like being on top of a hill and having such a great view right off my patio. Listening to the variety of birds chirping outside was relaxing and peaceful. I like how it is remote, but just 15 min to almost anywhere. Having groceries and restaurants nearby is great. Just 10 min to my work is ideal. I just wish I knew my renovations would take longer than the contractor expected, but that wasn’t a problem because the host has 13 units and there was 1 right next door I could easily get into.

Quaint, Cozy and Quiet
This place far exceeded our expectations. We loved that all of the little details and fully equipped kitchen made us feel right at home. The bed is incredibly comfortable. It was a quiet and safe neighborhood as we could hear the birds chirping in the morning, and we left the door open all day. It was great that we could take a short drive and be in the city but felt far removed when we wanted to relax at home. We loved our stay here. Thanks for everything!

This our family’s favorite unit in San Diego. The kitchen is not as large as in their condo units, but have two refrigerators and a 2 burner stove works for us. My kids love to hike the trails, and play on the boulders, on the property. What I like best is the quietness and safeness of the neighborhood. The privacy of the place was great. I feel safe in this quiet, family neighborhood. The view from this hill is amazing. Since our last stay they have added a huge concrete sandbox with beach toys and water, which my little one loved. On weekend, we went to the actual beached. Since the unit is a few min from the 52 freeway, it only took us 35 minutes to get to the nice beaches in La Jolla and along the coast in north county.
