Nice house for the price, but beware of dishonest hosts

The house is very large, with a big garden and lots of space for everything. There's lots to do (e.g. hiking, pool table, ping pong), there's a big grocery store in the area and it's very green, nice and quiet in the neighborhood.

The facilities, furnishing and equipment are quite dated, everything was a bit stale and it seems the house is empty for longer periods. The hosts have some unusual requirements with attached fees, so be prepared to do some work in and around the house before leaving. You will receive these instructions only after booking and after a cancellation is not possible anymore. The hosts also use some predatory tactics to make a little bit of extra money. Besides the 120€ cleaning fee we had to deposit 400€ in cash on arrival day. After the departure we received a mail with a torrent of things they had to do (like.. cleaning), which should be covered by the cleaning fee, but apparently there are some hidden fees. The hosts also mentioned some things that supposedly broke, without any meaningful pictures or an itemized list. In the end they kept a substantial amount of our deposit. This is currently being mediated by booking.com. It seems like this is something that happens regularly, so make lots of before and after pictures and expect to deal with this after your holiday.
