Central location - great breakfast
Small room and a bit warm. Bathroom was lovely.
4.1
Fabulous location, bed was comfy, the room was spotlessly clean.
There could have been more coffee, tea and milk in the room. The breakfast was delicious but limited, only allowed one item from menu, prefer buffet breakfast where I can help myself. Didn’t realise room on third floor and no lift 😬 can’t remember being given a choice about this, probably my fault for not checking details properly.
4.1
The breakfast was very nice and the staff were very friendly. The dinner menu was simple but delicious. The pub was busy but don't let that put you off. We would definitely stay again.
4.1
Excellent location, room was extremely clean and comfortable and staff were most friendly. The breakfast was superb
Nothing. It was excellent.

I felt it was a little bit more ‘quirky’ than other places I’ve stayed before. just had a little bit more character.
no complaints at all.
4.1
It had a lot of character but the room felt like a great mix of old and modern. And the pub was lovely.
There was a lot of wind that came through the old windows.

Central location
Workman started drilling next to our room at 0800

Top location.
I didn’t love the English breakfast. The sausage was really tough.
4.1
Breakfast was good. Easy walking distance to train and spa.
We were facing a street with a steady stream of loud students walking home from clubbing from 9pm until 2 am. The spotlights from the college across the street were shining directly into our room. With the windows and curtains closed our room was too hot and stuffy to sleep. With the windows open, the noise and lights made it impossible to sleep.

Friendly staff , nice ambience in pub , room sufficient and well equipped
Room was a bit cold especially bathroom …no heat source in it

Room was nicely decorated and comfortable. Location perfect. Breakfast was good. Would stay again.
Nothing.

Very clean and nice sized room for our stay.
Staff were very welcoming and the food downstairs in the pub was fantastic.
Close to the Forum theatre too which was great.
Road and area can be noisy if you’re not used to it (we aren’t) but that’s down to location and therefore, our choice to stay there.
Would not put me off staying again.

4.1
Central location, quiet, comfortable rooms, great value and excellent breakfast.
Information in the room stated evening meals were available until 9pm, however the kitchen had closed earlier so we weren't able to eat in the pub.

Maximum 5 minute stroll (not even fast pace) from the train station. The Black Fox is located right in the heart of everything, you can walk to all the attractions, can't score high enough on location.
Nice rooms, very clean, friendly staff. Lovely, cosy, well stocked bar. Limited food menu.
If you want a sensibly priced, excellently located, clean base for a trip to Bath, look no further this will tick all those boxes.
We're not getting any younger and the bed was a little 'saggy'. Plus there wasn't the normal TV channels, everything was through the Freeview or catch up services. We weren't in Bath to watch TV but it was a faff.
The breakfast was good but limited. No cereals to start. Choice of tea, coffee or juice. Not juice in addition to hot drink. It was tasty, it was enough but not the greatest breakfast we've ever eaten despite what other reviews had said.
These are really minor niggles, in no way should it put you off, it certainly would not put us off returning again one day!

Have breakfast included. The staff were nice.
Huge T V on the wall that didn’t work. ? Apparently it never does and they had always had this problem.. Room got cold during the night so was glad I Packed my hot water bottle.. Tiny plastic mirror on dressing table. Room was not cleaned at all during my stay.

Kindness of the staff, position, breakfast!
Requested to extend our stay by four nights after breaking my ankle en route from Dover day prior and Mark and the team went out of their way to accommodate us. Medicinal Bath gin in the bar was also a winner! Thank you Mark x

The room was spotless and had everything we needed, but the star was the comfy comfy bed and excellent shower! The location was great. 20 second walk to the spa and good location for everything else. The reception staff were friendly and overall it was a lovely stay.

Sehr steile Treppe ins Hotel.
4.1
Clean, great facilities, plenty of hot water, excellent location, friendly staff and great food.
There is no parking, however plenty of parking nearby. If you are staying for the week it may be wise to park outside of the city to reduce the cost.

Good location.
Comfortable room
Good breakfast
Nowhere to park, at the property.
TV did not work

Location, breakfast, staff. Good bed.
The Wi-Fi was not as described (strong signal throughout the property) as I could not get any signal in room 13. The car park (entrance) recommended was very difficult to find (we went round one-way system 3x) so a map/directions provided by the hotel would be very helpful for future guests.

The staff, (two lovely girls) were really amazing. The breakfast was great , the room was nice but quite difficult to access with 3 flights of stairs to climb with our luggage !
The tea & coffee facilities in the room were very welcome & a really nice touch was a full bottle of drinking water for the night. x
They should have more staff in the bar in the evening.. one lovely girl to cover .. check in .. the bar & the evening food service was just too much for one person to cope with in a very busy & popular pub .. even though she was amazing & managed really well .. The chef ran out of peas, the only green vegetable option with the fish & chips & as there was a supermarket close by it seemed a little disappointing They were turning away many expectant diners wanting to eat as the kitchen closed at 8o’clock which seemed pretty early !!!

The staff were fantastic… beers were also brilliant but the main thing was the phenomenal breakfast on both days!!!!

Central location perfect for sightseeing . Lovely old quirky building, room was comfy and clean. Shower was small but water pressure was good. Breakfast was tasty with good choices.
My poor husband bumped his head a couple of times on the low door way.
£36 car park fee for a two night stay in car park recommended by property. Appreciate green transport options are encouraged and definitely didn’t need car during stay due to perfect location.

It was great to return to the Black Fox, which was as good as ever. The staff, location, food, room and price are just great.
If I were to be picky, the room could benefit from some tissues and the instant coffee is just OK. Better quality coffee and tea would elevate this even further. The shower curtain is effective however those who are less agile would find the bath a bit energetic to enter / depart.
4.1
Very comfortable, very clean, had everything we needed. Pub quiet in the evenings when we went. Therefore able to enjoy meal, have a conversation or play cards. Bar and meal prices in line with other venues in Bath and staff very friendly. Great location for walking to major attractions and shopping. Accommodation comfortable and clean. If I go to Bath again, would definitely stay at the Black Fox. Ideal for my visit.
