We had the most amazing stay at La Palma Polo Hotel. The staff were so friendly, the hotel, it’s grounds including the swimming pool and other facilities were amazing.

We had quick overnight between Galapagos and Amazon and this hotel was a lovely little oasis. We wished we had longer to stay and enjoy the facilities. The staff was very accommodating, getting a very last-minute masseuse for an individual in our party who was having a lot of leg pain. The restaurant staff handled our large party well and we had a very good meal. The hotel grounds were lovely.
Even though it's not many miles from airport, the roads and traffic made the trip a bit long for just a quick overnight stay. The final stretch of road to the hotel was extremely poor condition. Also, the booking.com listing indicated that king rooms had washer/dryer, which was the primary reason we booked the hotel (we were on 14 day trip and being able to wash clothes mid-trip would have been ideal). So was disappointing to learn upon arrival that no rooms had washer/dryer.

The rooms are stunning, the on site restaurant offers lovely food and the grounds are immaculate. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
The only thing is somewhere in the distance there were dogs barking for 3hrs in the middle of the night - not much to be done but take some earplugs just in case! Also it is not that convenient for an airport stay, it’s around 40mins in a taxi and the long cobbled drive/ constant speed bumps make for an uncomfortable journey.

I’m always travelling on business trip. This hotel is simply perfect with very kind and helpful staff, beautiful rooms and fantastic breakfasts. You can also enjoy the hot swimming pool and the spa.
I will be back soon.

I enjoyed myself here it was the last place that I stayed after extensive backpacking. It was ideal as a nice place to relax before my flight home.
There was nothing that I didn’t like about this property.

spacious property with large rooms and public areas.
service was slow amd spotty. appeared close to airport but was more than 30 minutes drive. old town is just as convenient.

71E POCO CLUB WAS Breathtaking. Gorgeous views of the valley and mountains. The room was cozy and excellent. Better than described. Beautiful property with a spa heated pool and of course magnificent horses.

stylish rooms
Rooms and restaurant were cold. Not as close to the airport as expected (30mins). You only get 1 small bottle of water per person and then you have to pay for the rest as there is no water dispenser and they advise against drinking the tap water.

we got stuck way in the back and the room wasn’t properly furnished.

The facilities are very nice and allows you to disconnect from the world and connect with nature. This place is secluded and far from everything.
It’s far from everything. Food service is only available until 8:00 PM.

It is a 30 min drive from the Airport. Beautiful rooms/cottages. Friendly staff. Nice restaurant. Stayed here two times during our Ecuador trip.

the hotel and staff were amazing. we arrived late at night and they picked us up and brought us to the hotel and helped us get settled in. they helped us return to the hotel the next day as well.
a couple of areas were still under construction. they are nearly finished and will be amazing when they are done.

They need staff to attend the reception at any time… As I arrived in the night was nobody to help you to carry your luggage to the reception and worst when you get there NOBODY to check you in until someone arrived after you trying to reach them on the phone and the phone was at the reception great Welcome!!
The sound of the Airplane is horrible to disturb and wake you up…

The hotel sent a car to pick us up at the hotel, which was a very nice touch. The grounds are immaculately kept and they even had real polo games going on when we stayed! The menu at La Palma was very good, especially the Ecuadorian food (unsurprisingly) and the pizza (quite surprisingly!). Our bartender Diego also did a great job -- definitely try the frozen drinks and cocktails. The feel was incredibly authentic and made for a wonderful stay, we were welcomed and will definitely return next time we are in Quito!
There were truly no downsides to the experience as it was 5 stars all the way. I suppose the sun was very strong the first day? Although I doubt the staff could do anything about my burned buns!

My wife and I recently had a wonderful stay at La Palma Polo Club, just outside the Quito airport, and used it as our "home base" for a trip to the Galapagos Islands. Being our first time in Ecuador, we weren't sure the best way to get around -- fortunately, our concierge Francisco really went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, including scheduling shuttles to pick us up and drop us off at the airport. Francisco also helped bring our bags to our (spacious and very nice) room, and was highly communicative and available via WhatsApp for ordering room service or getting reservations for the La Palma dining room -- twice he even came in very early (before open), and packed us some "box breakfasts" to take to the airport when we had to leave early in the morning, which were lifesavers!
The menu at La Palma was very good, especially the Ecuadorian food (unsurprisingly) and the pizza (quite surprisingly!). Our bartender Diego also did a great job -- definitely try the frozen drinks and cocktails.
The atmosphere of the polo club is very relaxed and peaceful, tucked away behind manicured hedges, while palms, cycads, and many flowers (hibiscus, roses, black eyed susans) abound. It made for a very calm and quiet environment to sip drinks and read, or occasionally watch the polo players practice -- we honestly hadn't expected it to be a functioning polo club (which should have been obvious given the name), but it was pretty neat to watch the players and horses zip around the playing field. The combined effect was the feeling of relaxed luxury of a weekend at a country club, which, I suppose it literally was.
While we selected La Palma for the beautifully landscaped grounds, excellent views from the rooms, and short trip to the airport, the adjacency of Puembo (a neighborhood of Quito) was an unexpected bonus.
