On balance, not a lot after how our experience ended, however credit where credit is due and that is for those who served us dinner and drinks who went above and beyond. Saskia among them. They were more in line with how we imagined the Manor House.
Complete lack of customer service demonstrated on the last day. After checking-out on the Sunday, we planned to enjoy the premises for a few more hours -- lunch, a walk -- until catching our train. Unfortunately, only upon check-out were we told that this was not possible and we had to make ourselves scarce by 13:00 as the whole venue had been rented for a wedding party. We were given no prior notice of this and for the price that we paid, this was a slap in the face that ruined my partner's birthday weekend. Unacceptable. In addition to which, the receptionist was hardly apologetic; all she wanted was to fob us off lest we make a scene. At the very least they could have notified us upon arrival on the Friday. I've been to other luxury hotels in the Cotswolds and never had such an issue.
As for Castle Combe itself, not worth staying. Similarly lousy attitudes from the only two pubs. Hospitality ain't their thing.

Everything just beautiful

Beautiful old classic manor house and grounds. Rooms are beautifully updated without losing the old world charm. Walkable village and countryside.

The stay was relaxed and staff made my family feel welcomed throughout our stay. the grounds were beautiful and well maintained
There wasn’t anything to not like, the rooms were lovely and food was outstanding

Beautiful location. Stayed on the street. Couldn’t be better
By god the restaurant is expensive

This was the same price that we have paid at 5 start hotels in Mayfair. The property in nice but it sits in the middle of a public park. We wanted to sit outside but were surrounded by shouting children running around and adults sitting on steps eating sandwiches. At £485.00 for one night, I would expect exclusive grounds and some privacy. The hotel was also completely full with a wedding which we were not told about.

The location of the hotel is excellent, the place is quiet and calm. The village and the pub near the hotel are a real sweet spot for lovers of peace and quiet. The village near by is very touristic and this indicates the quality of the location

Great location ; Very friendly staff ; Lovely rooms and Surrounding gardens , along with Wonderful scenery and walking trails . We always love Wiltshire and normally stay at Bowood, so this was a step up .
We unfortunately had a Hotel Guest staying above us that walked like an Elephant, so having Dachshund she kept us awake throughout the night as most dogs are obviously very alert . The road was also very busy considering we were staying in such a quiet location . Needless to say , after a lot of walking around Bath and surrounding areas that day we didn’t get much sleep . I think the hotel could have been a more considerate to place Guests with Dogs in cottages with nobody staying above them . It was an experience, but I’d much prefer to stay in the surrounding Farm Cottages in Wiltshire and getting a good nights sleep for a 1/3 of the price .

Great little cottage right in the heart of a town

it felt like home!
I couldn’t stay forever

Perfect setting combined with a very nice room. (private parking at location). Key words here are ‘Luxurious’ and ‘Location, Location, Location!’
Didn’t check the fine print and where located in the cottages (a very little) further down the road (own fault!). Upgraded (+€) at the reception desk for a room in the manor itself. So from a low to a high.
-> Price for cottage rooms seems to much £ to me..

everything was great :) maybe a mini fridge in the rooms?

Perfect location, stunning Manor, outside, inside in one of the most beautiful UK village. Whaoo effect guarantee.
Room doesn't match a 5 starts standards with especially a really poor isolation, we could hear the other room like if they were in ours. Breakfast definitely not aligned to 5 starts standard as well

The breakfast was very nice with hot options service was lovely the people working at the hotel were more than nice and accommodating we enjoyed ourselves very much our stay was for four days
The only thing that would’ve made our stay nicer was the bed was very very hard and uncomfortable our room was called Penny lands

The dinner was truly excellent. Followed the set menu with wine pairing and it was fabulous. Both food and service could not have been better and made the stay very worth while for us both.
We were shocked at the state of the Bathroom floor which was honestly disgusting, covered everywhere with marks/stains which needed a steam clean. We reported it and it was cleaned during dinner.
Service at breakfast was not close to the dinner service.
When paying over £500 for a country hotel room you would expect a 'view' ours was of the roof and so disappointing. Tea on arrival was ordered but forgotten about, apologies and a bottle was left in our room - a nice gesture.

Staff were fantastic, friendly, attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. The room was large and comfortable. We had dinner in The Castle Inn which was excellent.
Although the room was large and comfortable we felt that the bathroom let it down. This is a very traditional hotel but it would benefit from modern bathrooms. Also disappointed that this was one of the more expensive rooms but it had no view.

The staff!!! They were uniformly outstanding!! I can’t say enough about their friendliness, professionalism nd personal touch. Many remembered me after one meeting ( or they had great prompts…either way I felt very special!). My room was huge and charming.
A refrigerator in room and maybe a little nook to buy sundries or snacks.
