Quirky, cosy, fun little cottages,
Good kitchens despite being small. We heated soup, toasted bread, stored food in the bar sized fridges for breakfast.
Great pool for a cold plunge in winter!
Nothing, it was lots of fun

An absolutely awesome location on the edge of a
national park
There’s no café open in a close proximity.

Great view nice facilities
The hot water for the baths didn’t work as expected

bed, bathroom
reception service, places to put bags/clothes hang up clothing, suitable area to make toast etc. unit was dark, appreciated bush but cold and unwelcoming, couldn't park close enough to unit ,access along narrow path and all our gear had to be removed from our vehicle for security reasons

Location is amazing, very close to Mount Aspiring National park. Small kitchen in wooden house was very clean, as well as the linens, dishes and cutlery.
Be careful there is NO bathroom in the house, just shared one outside! But the price is like for a good hotel. And a lot of send flys during the night.

La petite maison est confortable et très bien équipé. Ce logement est parfaitement situé pour une nuit de transite.

We were concerned with the room locks when our neighbours key unlocked our unit door.
The main lodge could do with an update

Good location. Spectacular views.
Off season. New staff. Pool not available. Rooms and outside areas need attention.

Great stay in the classic A frames. Nice and spacious with 2 rooms and bathroom. V comfy and warm. Dog friendly.

we were first in lodge 3 but then moved to lodge 1 on the 2nd day and it was truly amazing! the view out of lodge 1 was so beautiful and the room was cute and cosy too. wen truly enjoyed our stay.
i think that there could be wifi in the rooms as well. but it did workout well for us as it allowed us to spend more time with each other and away from the devices. but having wifi in the rooms could be useful for other stuff. just something to think about

The unti was warm and spacious.
I thought the unit I booked had a stovetop, but it had a kitchenette only so we were not able to cook in the unit itself (but there was a shared kitchen nearby)

the room was very nice. the bed was comfortable, and the heating was very good.
Everything was very nice, but it would have been nice if the kitchen had cooking oil.

A beautiful setting close to some stunning lakes and near to the blue pools (which we can't recommend enough!).
Worth noting that the setting for this lodge is stunning, but it is about 1 hour's drive away from the nearest town with facilities (which is very cute). In hindsight we would probably have only stayed here one night and had another closer to Wanaka, but that is very much personal preference.
The reception was never staffed while we were there, but staff responded promptly to a message about the cold room and provided us with another heater.
Good laundry facilities (shared) that use coins.
The cleanliness was okay overall. Older facilities make better cleanliness hard (eg shower curtain sticking to you in the small shower).
We would stop over again
Outdoor tubs were a bit dirty, could just be because they're outdoors, but didn't seem to have been cleaned that day.
Room was very cold the first night, but staff were quick to bring us a second heater and then it was good!
Cleanliness okay, older facilities. Lots of moisture build up from heating inside room and especially after a short shower the entire bathroom floor and walls were wet with condensation which didn't fully dry during our two day stay (I opened the windows for a bit, but it was too cold to have them open all the time).

The location was amazing, wonderful place to wake up too. Amazing rooms very warm and cozy and super comfy beds. Was nice to enjoy our own little cabin in the woods. Kids loved it too!!

Super cute little chalet! Just a bit different from the "normal" style motel! Was very warm and cosy - had everything we needed.
Not a big deal, but the tea and coffee hadn't been replenished, so although there was a coffee machine to use, there were no pods and no teabags.

The A frames are very cute and cosy and set in the mountains so we had a great view. We were warm and had a decent kitchen with a hob and a coffee machine.
It wasn't very clear when booking that as we went out of the summer season, the cafe/bar/facilities are all permanently shut. I'm pretty sure the price was the same despite all the facilities being unavailable. Make sure you bring your own food!

Loved the Site Manager, talk about spinning plates while dealing with monkeys and typewriters!!! She had the whole site nailed and dealt with all the weather cancelations like a pro.
The chalets could do with a new paint job, but we're so fun to stay in we didn't care. The 70's called and wanted their A frames architecture back 🤣

The two heaters provided worked well and everything in the apartment worked fine.
Perhaps we misread the information, but there was no Wifi in our unit. We had to use Wifi in a shared kitchen area which was not convenient.

Being I. the middle of nature, so peaceful, lovely seeing all the kereru in the trees. great place to stop for the night

the location meet our needs as all the walking we wanted to do was in this region
a ‘superior chalet’ is nothing more than a chalet with its own bathroom - the kitchenette consisted of a folding table to put your stuff on a fridge that didn’t work, a few plates cups cutlery and glasses that deemed themselves useless unless you had something in your superior chalet to cook with apart from toast … having complained about the fridge a guy came and changed my fridge with the fridge of the other superior chalet 🤣 omg that didn’t work with either- apart from the fact, that, that is what I call problem solving… he suggested I put my food in the communal fridge … also not a solution- I wouldn’t recommend this place and I won’t go back …

Room was large, nice coffee maker.
The bathroom was disappointing, I also didn’t see photos of it when booking. Screens on the windows would be great to leave them open without a ton of mosquitos getting in the room.

Such a fabulous spot. Very cute chalets. We were only there one night and wished it was longer. Very quiet and peaceful surroundings
