Very cosy and relaxed atmosphere.
Both rooms and suites are clean, nice and comfortable with good balconies with a view to Bahia Principal and the sea from the suites.
The staff is attentive and kind. When the air conditioner broke down, we were immediately moved to a new room.
The pool area is nice and relaxing and surrounded by flowers of all colors.
A recommendation would be to install a small fridge in the rooms for keeping water cool.

It was a bit dirty and needed some updates.

A unique hotel within easy walking distance of the main beach and a short Taxi Ride to the other beaches. Nice pool with an area to sit after a day at the beach.
Great taco place on the corner.
the beds were really hard and
the rooms are looking a bit tired but this didn’t spoil our stay

Nice pool and hammock area. The room came as a great price - very good budget option. A fridge in reception to store leftovers and beers.
The doors were kind of old and didn’t close properly. There were slide locks though so it wasn’t a big deal. The wi-fi was a bit slow at times.

very old, bad atmosphere and not a good location

The owner and his daughter were simply amazing. My credit card got cloned and the owner was amazing, lending me money otherwise I would have been stranded! My son got sick and Francesca made us meals of our choice. She held a hot dog night for the families with kids, picked my up from the supermarket. An amazing family and place and they treat you like family.
Pool was fantastic, super chilled place and great to go with kids.

We have to admit that this was not an ideal stay at Hotel Paraiso as hurricane Agatha rolled in as soon as we got there. It would be unfair to judge the hotel based on that experience. From what we read, the internet was already not great in Escondido and the hurricane exacerbated it. The property seems really lovely and lush. The hotel staff tried to help us as much as they were able considering the circumstances. The hotel was actually in a great location: close to grocery store and gas station to get SIM cards and water. The property’s tiny kitchen came in handy as most restaurants were closed and we had to cook for ourselves.
The cleanliness of the bathroom wasn’t great upon arrival but the sheets were nice and clean. In general we were unprepared to weather a hurricane so it would’ve been nice for the property to store dish soap and cooking oil and simple seasonings in their tiny kitchen. We were still appreciative they had a kitchenette at all. The hotel’s ability to research/call is completely dependent on wifi and when it goes out, you’re out of luck.

The building had potential
The hotel was a disaster, totally overpriced. It felt dying. The hotel needed a lot of maintenance. The last day of our visit the roof started leaking and our friend found cockroaches under his pillow. Also the staff felt like they’ve been given up (even though they were kind).

For the days they did showed up to work..it was great
How run down the place was

The hotel is close to the beaches and many cheap local food options. The staff at reception was extremely helpful and hooked us up with tours to the turtle hatchery and to witness bioluminescence in the mangroves with no advance notice.
While the hotel advertises its free WiFi, the connection in our room was almost non-existent. We also had a very weak phone signal in the room. The owner seems to be aware of this problem and blamed it on their service provider. While this is understandable, they're still advertising free WiFi as one of their primary attractions, which is unrealistic.
