location
The hotel / rooms are dated, it costs a lot for what it offers.

Hotel staff was professional, rooms clean, breakfast nice.
Room was a bit too dark with a small window in the corner

Check-in using machine was pain-free, room was very clean.
The metal supports for the glass shelf below the bathroom mirror were bent down, so it was unusable. The showerhead was also so blocked with calcification that it hardly worked.

The breakfast was amazing đ

Breakfast terrible. Staff not really friendly.

Cozy hotel near to the ring surrounding the city centre. Excellent position both to the central Railway station (15 min walking), to the historical town (5 min walking) and to the University campus (30 min walking). The room was very large and clean. Breakfast was fantastic, with a wide choice of plates. Excellent value for money. Staff available and helpful, also providing a lot of information in advance. Unfortunately I did not try the Greek restaurant inside due to lack of time.
Nothing in particular. Sometime the WiFi signal was not working in some location of the room, but it was enough to move a little bit to restore the signal. Some of the staff speak in Greek or German only, but they want really to help you so the communication problem were all solved.

Breakfast was good enough for that price. Location is excellent. The room was noisy - however I always travel with ear plugs so that wasn't really an issue.

The staff are professional but not particularly friendly. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was very good and had a wide variety of choice. The hotel is centrally located to the old town close to the Margravial Opera House - but far away from the large festival house.
I could barely fit through the shower doors. The room was not cleaned during my stay.

Check-in with a machine, the breakfast, the staff of the restaurant who were nice, I was at the 3rd floor, shared bathroom and toilet for 5/6 rooms but I think I was the only one in this floor ( lucky me).
I was there for the baroque festival, for one night, it took 10min walking to the Margravial with the maximilianstabe.
Furnitures old, didnât have a spare pillow or blanket in the room ( I also didnât ask).
Shower also old.
toilet and shower are in the same room.
You can hear a lot of noise from the stairs and the street.

The room had obviously been broken into before we arrived and the lock (internal) did not operate so we could not lock up at night. However as there was a card entry system we were fairly safe. The room that was without toilet and shower and I think the fact that this was the case should be stated more prominently on the description since the toilet was accessible from five separate rooms and Was very convenient to say the least! Perhaps we should have expected this because of the value for money price.

The hotel was not far from the train station and very close to the ZOH (bus station and interchange) from where you can go everywhere. I wonder why the hotels do not provide customers with a map of the city plus a map with all the bus lines! 6-8 minute walking to and from the centre. Breakfast was included and was a buffet one!
The staff was friendly and supportive, especially Eugenio!
Any bus from the HBf to ZOH (301-302-303-305-etc....) is good to get to the Poseidon hotel (the bus stop is in front of the train station, direction city center: just cross the road). Get off at ZOH and walk for 4-5 minutes and Hotel Poseidon is there.
No dislikes!

The hotel itself is very basic. The room was neat and tidy, everything clean, a comfortable bed.
The room I stayed was quite dark, no fridge, no AC.
The worst thing is the facilities. The reception does not operate normally, only 17-22. The guests are offered to check in via a machine, but it failed in my case, I couldn't get my key and had to wait until 17 to get to the room. No apologies from the stuff, ni attempts to make guests feel comfortable.
Since there is no reception, it is not possible to leave a suitcase neither before check in, nor after the check out. So, if staying here, count two days of wandering around with all the staff.
Also the rooms face a very busy street. Breakfast is served only 7 till 9, can be uncomfortable for people on vacation.
Overall, not recommended unless an overnight stay.

It was near the city centre so you could reach the market place in a few minutes walk.
It was right on the main street and super noisy. Our room was soooo hot (3rd floor) but if you opened the window it was too noisy from the street. My husband said it was like staying the night on a roundabout. We had a âsharedâ bathroom which meant you had to go out in the corridor (i.e it was not en suite.) For the dog we had to pay 15⏠extra a night!! The bed was supposed to be big but it was one mattress and it felt like you were trying to sleep on a ship.
The staff were not particularly friendly and the price was horrendous. (Due to our visit being during the Festspiele.)
Breakfast was adequate but not particularly nice. The restaurant was pretty horrible.
The car park was difficult to find. (Underground) and cost the earth.
Just donât come here. Anywhere else will be better.

Breakfast was very good indeed, and I liked the way it was presented. The staff made sure that there was always enough food for the guests, and were willing to go the extra mile if a guest was a little late for breakfast to make sure that they would be well fed!
Have to say that for me personally there was no disappointment. The hotel was fine for me, and once I understood the registration system, thought a very good way for a guest to register if they arrived late in the evening!

The location is great, very close to the historical centre and a nice 2 km walk to Wagner Opera House (Bayreuther Festspielhaus).
Breakfast buffet is sumptuous.
The main problem was the complete lack of curtains in the room: at night the bypassers can see all in your room, in the morning, the day light wakes you up.
The room is rather basic.
In August, during the Wagner festival, prices are really inflated

Breakfast was good, except after about two days, the lox was taken off the buffet because it was "too expensive" to provide. The rolls and croissants, and, surprisingly, the coffee were all good. Some of the cold cuts looked "iffy" and I only ate salami. The eggs were terrible--looked like they were cooked the night before. Evgeny was very nice.
The shower was dangerous, and I nearly fell when I took my first step. The room is so bare--no personality. A lamp would have been nice, maybe a painting or photo on the wall. The towels were thin. Only one mirror. The worst thing was the method of getting a room key--so impersonal. And trying to use it took several attempts and the help of another guest. No one to greet me at a reception desk.

Breakfast was very good and so was the location -- one block from the Rotmain Center.
They had no parking of any sort provided. However, the gentleman who supervised breakfast gave me excellent tips for free parking on the streets of the neighborhood. Channel selection on the TV was not good -- I only had about 6 channels although cable appeared to be set up for hundreds of channels. Management knew nothing about the cable. Also the shower stall is built for thin people. I am on the heavy side and had to squeeze myself in as best I could.

The main advantage for us was the location in the centre of Bayreuth within walking distance of all the places we wanted to visit, and the Festspielhaus, for the opera. On top of this we found the hotel met all our requirements of cleanliness and comfort. The staff are friendly and very helpful, and the breakfast buffet is good and plentiful.
The decor of the rooms could be modernised.

Great breakfast, good location less than 15 min from the train station
