About this cottage rental
Kincaid Cottage is situated in open green countryside with breath-taking views of the adjacent mountains and down to the Pacific Ocean. This self-contained cottage has it all! The rooms are spacious and luxuriously furnished, both having their own well- appointed bathrooms. Both bedrooms have superking beds, one of which can be split into twin beds. If you are travelling with a baby, you are welcome to use our cot, free of charge. If a cot is needed please indicate this when booking. We also have a high chair at no extra charge.
The lounge and dining area has a TV, DVD player and free-view digital box, a small book exchange library, a large selection of DVD’s (including children's DVD's), plus a games cabinet with board games, cards, kid's games and jigsaw puzzles.
There is of course a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven/stovetop and a microwave. There is also a small gas BBQ (a Weber BabyQ) on the cottage veranda.
Local hosts Jessica and Greg are happy to help with recommendations for some of the many activities available in the area, the most famous being whale watching and swimming with dolphins. There is also a large selection of excellent cafes and restaurants in the township. Kaikoura is a unique town where the mountains meet the sea. Here you will find a vast array of wildlife. There is much to see and do; well worth at least a few days stay. The cottage is situated in the grounds of the historic Kincaid lodge which can trace its European history back to 1856.This may seem young for our international visitors but is old for New Zealand. The Kincaid “run” was named after Kincaid in Stirling, Scotland where the second owners lived. The existing homestead was completed in 1903. Kincaid Cottage was completed in 2008. Jessica and Greg look forward to sharing their piece of country paradise with you.

The warmest welcome and kindest hospitality, in a stunning location. Jessie was wonderful throughout - was so thoughtful in providing age-appropriate toys and entertainment for our little ones. There were many tears when we had to drag them away after our 4 night stay. Yummy veggies picked from the garden and the most delicious apples picked with my son straight from the tree. A truly beautiful spot, we hope we will be back someday.

We spent two nights in Kincaid cottage, which was a short drive to Kaikoura, and it suited our needs perfectly. The cottage was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Situated in a peaceful rural outlook and we were able to enjoy a great walk to Hapuka beach and the view to the snow topped mountains was stunning.
Jessie is a wonderful host and her communication about check-in, etc was excellent.
We have no hesitation in recommending Kincaid Cottage to anyone looking for quality accommodation near Kaikoura and we woill happily stay again if we return to the region.

This cottage is very comfortable and welcoming. Jessie has put a lot of personal effort into the home to ensure your stay is enjoyable. I highly recommend staying here. The mountain view is magnificent.

The cottage felt like home from the minute we stepped through the door. Jessie went above and beyond to be the perfect host. From farm fresh eggs and milk in the fridge on our arrival to fresh flowers and herbs from the garden and an invitation to pick fruit and vegetables during our stay, nothing was too much trouble. The beds were comfortable and the stars at night were amazing. The view over the flax to the mountains was just beautiful. We could not fault this property and would happily recommend it and would stay again if the opportunity arose. It’s only seven minutes’ drive to the centre of town for the dolphin encounter and other facilities yet feels so spacious and relaxed. The perfect place for a visit to Kaikōura!

Great cottage overlooking the mountains and sea. Jess was a great host providing fresh flowers in every room, fresh fruit and veggies from her garden and eggs from her chickens. So fun to have this provided in season and so appreciated. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen we have ever had with a rental share -so great if you want to cook! Thanks Jess!!!

We had the most lovely stay at Kincaid cottage. It was cosy but had plenty of space and was well equipped with homely touches. The views of the mountains were absolutely stunning and also to the sea. Jessie was an amazing host, so welcoming and helpful, communication was very prompt and easy. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others :)

Very friendly and informative welcome.
Loved the views at the property. Enjoyed the township, especially The Pier pub and the souvenir shops.
The house was spotless and kitchen was very neat and organised.
Generous supplies both utensils and food.
The en-suite could do with a larger vanity but this place was one of the highlights of our NZ trip to both islands.

When we saw this property on Stayz we loved how it looked, but once we arrived it was so much more. Jessica was very responsive & helpful, and when we arrived the house was warm & welcoming with fresh eggs in the fridge & flowers in every room. The setting the cottage is in is just stunning. Would recommend this little piece of heaven to anyone

Flowers in every room, fresh eggs and herbs as well as an invitation to pick what was available from the garden. Also a well stocked pantry with teas, spices, and the cookware needed to stay put and make a nice meal while enjoying the views and comfy accommodations. Jessica is incredibly welcoming and has thought of all the things a traveler might need or want.

The Kincaid Cottage and hosts Jessica and Greg were the highlight of our return visit to the Kaikoura area. Jessica was immediately in contact upon our booking, offering local tips about dinner reservations and attractions, and promptly answered all our questions. The self-contained cottage itself is outfitted with luxury linens, fully equipped kitchen and well-stocked pantry. It is perfect for the independent traveler, and offered a spectacular view of the snow-capped Southern Alps on one side and the coast on the other. We immediately noticed all the extra touches - fresh lavender tucked into the towels, fresh flowers on the window sills, eco-friendly products and convenient recycling bins. Even a jar of freshly cut herbs from the kitchen garden. This was our +/- 24th trip to the South Island - a convergence of old friends that was made even more memorable by our stay at the lovely cottage and its surrounding fields. We hope to be back very soon!

My partner and I had such a relaxing stay- Jessica really had thought of absolutely everything to make our visit want for nothing, from fresh flowers and herbs from the garden, to a range of books and DVDs, to lots of info about the local area and all sort of games. Everything was beautifully presented and the house itself is in a stunning location. Thank you for a fantastic end to our Summer holiday, we couldn’t have asked for more, and we hope to be back again soon.

Our stay here was absolutely magical. The cottage is stunning and Jessie the most amazing host. Arriving was so fun as we discovered all the special wee surprises she had left for us. Fresh flowers in all the rooms, chocolate and free range eggs in the fridge, the most amazing tea collection and so many cool surprises for kids. Us adults loved feeding the hippy sheep and bossy goat! The cottage was immaculate and warm and the views were absolutely breathtaking. Highly recommend waking early for the sunrise. The beds very comfortable and the master bedroom was so luxurious with an ensuite, walk in wardrobe, beautiful cast iron and brass bed and French doors with views to the snow cap mountains. This cottage would suit a romantic getaway, girls weekend, family holiday or something special like a wedding. We can not recommend it enough and can not wait until we can stay again.

A great place away to have peace and quiet, lovely sea and mountain views, and set in a nice garden. The cottage was cozy and comfortable and Jessica had left little treats for us. She was a great host. Handy to all Kaikoura has to offer.

This luxurious 5 star property is situated in a dream location at the foothills of the snowy Kaikoura ranges and with the dramatic expanse of the Pacific Ocean in front of you. This luxurious property is large, well appointed with the interior décor warm and upscale with very comfortable beds and sensational mountain/sea views from each room. Our hosts Jessie, Greg and Annie(daughter) were very friendly, warm and such a pleasure to deal with. Lots of personal touches such as fresh flowers in every room and a well stocked kitchen along with an amazing collection of fresh herbs and fresh farm eggs. Also on the property are a Tennis court, Petanque Court for guest use and three very friendly pet farm animals whom my 5 year old daughter very much enjoyed feeding. Our plans are to return as much as possible. Such peace and tranquility!

This was a little gem stay, not too far off to the side of the main state highway and not too far to enjoy all activities we loved, fishing, boating, hiking, biking and of course a little shopping. It was a bonus that we could also play some tennis and enjoy a farm outlook with a wonderful view of the mountains. The little touches in the house, with fresh garden cut flowers and herbs were delightful and the host Jessica was very welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. We will be back!

We loved our stay at Kincaid Cottage. I have high standards and have stayed in accommodation all over NZ. This property would possibly be the best of its type. Faultlessly clean for one thing plus everything had been thought of, from beautifully presented rooms down to the fresh eggs provided in the fridge. It was wonderful to have a few days on our trip with more space for our family to spread out. Our daughter loved trying her hand at tennis and we all loved the array of DVDs. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kincaid Cottage to friends and family and we hope to return one day. Thank you Jessie and family for making us so welcome.

The Hapuku cottage is well placed in a beautiful setting with backdrop commanding mountain views from the front and claiming sea views to the sides of the kitchen. All within 10 mins to the CBD with full access to cafes, supermarkets and sweeping coastal sea views along the Esplanade whether you want to have a picnic while looking at the mountains or going for a nice walk to see furry seals...

The location is perfect. The sea on one side & mtns on the other. Warm & comfortable as we decided each day what to do or where to go. Nearby beach Hapuku all to ourselves until moon came up, checking out the seal pups & fishing. The view from our room was stunning & I could have stayed in happily relaxing. Fresh eggs each day from the spice girls was a bonus. A real treat.
