Slow down before Goggle Maps tell you to and you’ll see the sign from either direction on the road to
Agriturismo Podere Pescara.
This B&B has free parking inside the gate. A well lit walkway and house exterior.
Cozy warm interior. Contemporary color scheme with rustic touches. The main living room is equipped with a fireplace and piano, ideal for family gatherings after excursions.
This is place is very popular and always booked. Our gracious hostess Valentina is very involved with her business, she presides with aplomb over the morning activities
The breakfast room extends into the living area, where you’ll find makings for coffee. 3 very well behaved dogs are on the premises.
Our favorite attractions of Orvieto are the Duomo and the underground tours.
The stupendous Duomo of Orvieto is on top of the list of places to visit. The cathedral commemorates the Miracle of the Eucharist in Bolsena-droplets of blood that stained the altar linen, made some time in the1260’s.
The exterior façade of this gothic cathedral, has mosaics depicting the life of Christ, the Virgin Mary, etc. with stunning gold backgrounds, that glow in the afternoon sun. The interior has cycles of frescos throughout, painted by Fra Angelico, Luca Signorelli, Perugino, Piero della Francesca, to name a few.
Another remarkable attraction in Orvieto is the Viaggio nella “Città Sotterranea”, the Orvieto Underground tours. We took an fascinating, evening tour given in English by a local guide. Tours can be booked through an office near to the cathedral in Piazza Duomo. As the brochure notes “Orvieto Underground is the best way to become acquainted with this new, unusual aspect of a culture of a city that abounds in history and outstanding art treasures. The tour takes you along a winding subterranean path through tunnels, stairs, unexpected passageways, superimposed rooms, with innumerable small square niches, all of which bear witness to creation over the centuries of this city.
Nothing.

Lovely location and incredibly engaged staff just under 5 minutes from Orvieto town centre
Thin walls.

Clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the terrace was nice. Valentina was a lovely host and helped us make our stay more enjoyable. The property is located on the lower part or Orvieto. The pool is small, but perfect for a cooling dip on a hot summer day.
Most people who stay here have a car. We didn’t have one, and found it difficult to get up and down out of Orvieto without arranging transportation. The roads are too narrow to walk along and there is not much nearby.

Lovely property on outskirts of Orvieto

The breakfast was great and the olive farm around it was beautiful. I was worried it would be cold in the winter, but they had a extra A.C so it was warm and cozy.
Nothing much.

The owner of the hotel is very kind.

We arrived late. We called the property many times for help. Better explanations and especially a LARGER AND WELL-LIT SIGN would have helped! It was terrifying to go out for dinner and get lost again!

This agro turismo was our favorite stay in Italy! And we stayed in many large and small cities. My kids are now asking me to bring them back to Podere Pescara! The views are mesmerizing, the sunsets, the landscape. You will fall in love with Umbria. You can also see Orvieto’s city walls. The pool is on a smaller size but very functional, it was bit cold for our taste, but we are used to heated pools back home. We all loved lounging area around the pool, very relaxing. Many olive trees. Camila was very responsive via Whatsup app, she immediately responded to all m concerns prior to our arrival. We are traveling Italy in trains with 3 kids so I was concerned about getting there. But it was absolutely no problem. Camila gave me few numbers of taxi companies and I just went ahead and sent Whatsup message to one of them and agreed to time and price. They picked us up in big taxi van right by Funicolare and took us to Podere Pescara. They also asked me to Whatsup them in the morning to let know what time we need to be picked up. It was 15 euros each way but we had larger taxi (5 people with a lot of luggage). Inside the house there was as large common area with teas/coffees/snacks for everyone to use and couches. My kids played their video games on those. The breakfast was great (many pastries, eggs, cheese, meats, juices, coffees, jams etc). It was probably the best continental breakfast we had in Italy so far (we are still traveling as of right now). I wish we stayed much longer at that agriturismo but we had reservations in Florence. We will definitely return with kids sometimes in the future.
Location is a bit out of the way. For those traveling by train/public transportation might not be appealing as they would need to arrange taxi. However, it was very simple for us. We just used Whatsup messenger to message the taxi driver for drop off second part of the day and pick up in the early afternoon.

We liked the pool very much!!
The accomodation was very nice. Breakfast was very good (Italian style) and included yoghurt and fresh fruit.
The place is best if you have a car. There is no bus connection. We had a train to catch at 7.25 in the morning but none of the taxi compamies wanted to pick us up for the short ride, so we walked the two kilometers.
It would have been nice to have had access to a fridge to store cold drinks (when the temperature was 37 degrees.)

Beautiful, calm and relaxing place.
It was unfortunately very difficult to find taxis in Orvieto so we had to walk to and from town for dinner.
The staff was very nice and available during daytime, but during the evenings there where no staff available at the house.
3.5
Breakfast was not nice.
Coffee wasn't great.
There was no real yoghurt, no fruit bowl.
There was no museli.
Juice was cheap like squash.
The pool was not set in a very nice area. The sun beds were set on grass/mud under olive trees.

Location and friendliness were exceptional.
We had a garden room and WiFi did not work unless you were outside or in the main room of the house.
